Your worst enemy is YOU when the whole world points finger at you especially the one you loved, you trusted when you gave it all, your 100%...
But dealing with his own demons didnt matter as much as imagining she dealing with her owns. One thing he understood as he registered her each word is, His Khushi in her never left her. No matter how much she changed herself, she made sure the piece of her which he admired always stayed intact and alive. That filled his heart with immense satisfaction as he understood, she did what she did for others not for money nor for her pleasure. The moment she gave him ultimatum not to touch her lips, he knew she didnt allow anyone else to touch her there, the place he marked his name and he was sure come what may, she would never give away the delicate part of her, her heart to anyone else other than him.
The precious pearls of her words at the end still vivid in his memory made him realize that, nothing else in this world mattered to Arnav at that moment, being or not being her first or even being her last as a matter of fact. All mattered was her heart still beating virgin for him and will always belong to him. He will be called heartless cold-blooded brute if he expects any more than that considering she only worshipped him and no other man in her entire life.
She is right, he forced her into this situation and so he cant blame her for her decisions. But he can change her, make her understand and he was sure, she being the most rational human being who will not let her assertive ego rule her head, will listen to him. And the days are not far. Coming to her next set of conditions of no touch and talk, that only brought silly smile to his heart. She knew how much of her nonchalant, indifferent attitude would irk him and she tried to play that card wisely. He smiled inwardly prompting himself, the lousiest peril of Mrs. Arnav Singh Raizada to get her questions answered.
And as she turned her feet, he stopped her holding her wrist.
I told you not to touch me. She glowered at him.
You told me many other things as well, Posy. He whispered huskily pinning her elbows to the wall.
She stood numbed and stared at him shocked for a brief moment hearing Posy after long time. Squirming in his grip she looked away tilting her head...
Khushi Look at me...
She refused stubbornly closing her eyes.
Khushi...He paused and waited for her to turn and when she didnt he used his ultimate card...Look at me when I speak to you as I dont want you to regret later for not taking me seriously.
That did the trick and she turned to him. Her eyes instantly softened drowning in the pools of his passionate orbs.
Gently pressing her elbows against the wall for emphasis, he asked tenderly, What have you done to your life Khushi?
She smiled cynically, You find it hard to accept me, dont you? Why? Why is it impossible for a man to accept woman who had been involved in physical relation with other men, when you men could sleep with as many women as you please. Now like every other man you are going to judge me, saying you are not proud of me anymore, aren't you? Innocence personified in her question.
He shook his head...No..Thats not what it is all about. I do not speak for other men or women. I speak for Arnav Singh Raizada and his wife Khushi Singh Raizada who never once even imagined anyone else other than their counterpart.
Khushi, If I wanted, I would have dug your entire history to the date we got married. That was and will always be immaterial to me, how you were, how many relations you had prior to becoming mine. But when you are tied to me, I command you to be in relation only with ME...any thought, any move, any decision, any wish should start and end with me. Your EVERY emotion has to be filled with me and only me, be it sadness or happiness. And I expect you to expect the same from me.
And coming to being proud, I have always been proud of you Khushi, for the woman in you and will always be, even at this min for standing up for yourself. But what you have done is very dangerous. Those men are monsters, they wont hesitate to take a life. The thought of anybody harming her again shivered him and she could feel tremors through his palm on her arms. You need to imprint this fact in your brain Khushi that I will not approve anybody touching you or harassing you in any way. So I need to know now, if any of those rogues harmed you? Is that why your face was red that night? Did that Singhal hit you? He riled up checking her out with his eyes.
It all doesnt matter anymore, they paid their price. Khushi said determined not to reveal anything as she knows how ugly her husband could get, proof being what happened to Karan in the past.
Khushi, you need to give me their names for me to clear them off your path. She nodded NO. Giving up, he spoke frustrated, Do you want to get yourself killed because thats exactly what will happen eventually if you dont let me stop them now.
I was already dead..She lifted her eyes and looked at him accusingly as she continued, I dont think it makes any difference now.
Goddammit Khushi, It does. It does make a hell lot of difference to my existence, dont you get it? He shook her violently trying to put piece of his mind.
She stared at him for long long moment trying to understand what he implied. But then, unable to clearly see what is reality Vs facade of this man, knowing that she is not going to get any answers, she chose to remain silent.
Fine if you dont want to tell me, I know how to dig into this. Lets keep the discussion on your profession aside until we sort the other important stuff in our lives.
He suddenly left her arms and stepped backward few feet away. Khushi bereft of comfort and solace shuddered in loss at once as she watched him step away.
Since You dont want me to touch you or talk to you, I am going to do just that and bow into your demands until I am ready to answer you. But THE DAY I come to you to answer, I promise I am going to take everything I need from you, every pain, every scar, every tear and every bit of what you feel for me. And YOU better be ready for me with your arms open because I am not going to settle for less.
She continued to stare at him shocked and surprised seeing the comeback attitude of the man she fell in love with, who successfully remained as an enigma in her life. He turned his feet away ending the discussion right there only to be stopped by the wobbly need that crept up his mind.
He swiftly turned and found himself in front of her. She slowly tucked her hands behind her back not trusting them as they threatened to pull him closer. He took a step forward arresting her between his palms splayed against the wall on either side, making sure not to touch her. He inched closer much closer than she permitted and he intended to, with desperate urge to kiss and wipe the distressed lines off of her forehead.
As she felt his breath fanning her face, her every resolve betrayed her forcing her to close her eyes in anticipation of the long lost succor and comfort she could find only in him. After a moment of painful wait, she opened her eyes inquisitively and found him fondly looking at her threatening to sputter something unknown to her. From the way his jaw stiffened squeezing his eyes to close and only to reopen instantaneously as if controlling himself, Khushi knew what he was trying to convey. She could clearly learn from his lucid eyes pleading her to make quite a leap of faith to hang onto him and he would make their small world all perfect like before.
Why are you doing this to me? She voiced her confusion in low tone as he took step backward.
He couldnt force himself on her especially when she said not to touch her. He turned his feet away sharply ignoring her feeble voice that made another attempt to question him.

The next day...
Arnav and Aman waited for Anjali to show up for lunch at the little italian joint that is located just few miles away from the AR office. While Aman seriously lectured Arnav for not following up with the insurance cheque Khushi tore it the other day, Arnav's mind rummaged through the photographs he received last night.
Last night after heated conversation with Khushi, Arnav spent several hours to find any clue from the photographs he got delivered that night. He looked through them innumerable number of times but he found absolutely nothing suspicious. Without the accused profile in mind, it started becoming too vague to look for any clues.
Arnie...Are you even listening to me? Aman knocked the table bringing Arnav out of his thoughts.
You were saying something?
I was saying alot...nearly 24 crores yaar, not a small amount, we better follo...
Who is the beneficiary?
Bhabhi..
Then she will be the one to decide that.
But you know she wont. You have to convince her.
Aman, if she doesnt want it. She doesnt want it. You have to understand I demolished the whole building just to take her business down and do you seriously expect a woman with higher tribunal of self respect to accept that money..
I know but she could use it for...
I have earned enough to give her 1000 times more than that. She doesnt need an insurance check be it for any use. We are not discussing this anymore. Arnav smarted as he spotted Anjali walking towards them.
Aman shook his head in despair, resigning himself at the idea of convincing the 2 most stubborn as*es in the world, Mr. and Mrs. Raizada.
Sorry sorry sorry for being such late lateef. Anjali gleed waving hand at Arnav, while Aman stood to greet his girlfriend with a hug and a peck on her cheek.
Arnav acknowledged with a nod as the couple settled down in their chairs. The next few mins, they busied themselves ordering the food. While Anjali bragged about the delicious food, Arnav understood that she is dreading the topic. Arnav in no mood to baby sit the words as his patience is all reserved and drained for Khushi, he came straight to the point.
So whats going on between you and Adi?
Nothing! She said playing small smile.
Nani stopped by yesterday and mentioned that Adi didnt come home for last 2 months. Do you still want to stick to Nothing as answer.
Why dont you tell me what happened the night you were charged for possession of drugs? Anjali counter questioned Arnav.
Arnav in the middle for forking the vegetables, stopped and looked at Aman questioningly, to which Aman replied with a nod gesturing that Anjali knows the truth now.
That was past Anjali. No point in digging it today. Everyone of us moved on since then.
I did not! I was under the impression that you ruined my everything from dad to Aman, when in reality it was just opposite. I cant thank Khushi enough for helping me see through things.
Khushi? Arnav narrowed his eyes putting the silverware down.
You dont know? Didnt she tell you any of it?
What are you talking about? Arnav leaned over inquisitively while Aman silently watched the unfolding of events.
Why am I not surprised!!! Anjali sighed finishing her last bite. She took me to a place and showed me the reality behind what made Arnav Singh Raizada to what he is today...the next few mins Anjali narrated how Khushi made her to think.
Bhai..I still remember her words about you, He doesnt take action without a reason. And his actions speak louder than his words but unfortunately he is not too good proving his good intentions with his words.
Lowering his head with remorse, Arnav closed his eyes and pinched the bridge of his nose, feeling angry at himself. She had so much trust in him even then and he...He was sick of himself for the turn of events that butchered their beautiful relation. He whispered her name mentally and apologetically.
Arnav leaned back in his chair, with his thoughts occupied with Khushi as Anjali continued. So eventually I decided to check through the facts. I came to know that it was Adi the real culprit behind the drug case and not you. So on the day you guys returned from Boston, I confronted him and he admitted everything. Why didnt you tell me anything?
Would you have believed if I had told it was not me? Arnav asked scowling at her, as he felt all this didnt matter in his life anymore. He is done making relationships, last one and the only one being with Khushi and he is not interested in any new. Somewhere the relationship with the expecting baby kept nagging silently in his mind and it reflected in the way he reacted to Anjali's question.
Probably not. But at least I wou
Anjali, your father was the one who asked me to take up the charges, plea guilty, and go to jail in place of Adi, saying that I owe him at least that much. Now you tell me, was I left with any options of going to people and explaining myself. Arnav controlled his temper with gritted teeth as Aman placed his palm on his shoulder to calm him.
Anjali looked at him shocked and shifted her eyes to Aman who nodded silently. I cant believe. Dad always supported you then why would...
He didnt wanted his high esteem reputation to go into drains with the news of his own blood being handcuffed and after all I am not his real son, which is also another reason why he always asked you to mend things with me without giving you proper explanations behind my innocence. Arnav pressed his temples in exasperation.
How could he do that. Anjali's eyes brimmed with tears. Her beeping pager put a hold on their conversation. I got to go, emergency. She murmured feeling guilty on behalf of Raizadas who used this man to their convenience.
As she was about to leave, Arnav stopped her calling her name. Arnav who wasnt much affected with her tears, spoke curtly, Look Anjali, no matter what your father expected of me, I respect the man. At least he gave me better life than those streets offered which is why I promised him I will take care of you, Adi, and AR till my last breath, if and only if none among these three interfere with anything I claim as MINE.
Anjali took his hand as she walked to his side and stood beside him. I am sorry Bhai. I am very sorry. I dont even know where to start. But I am truly sorry. I just hope one day you forgive me. Believe me, if I had slightest inclination...
Dont..I really dont have any opinion on this. You should leave these behind and move on as well. I dont want anyone making or breaking their relations because of me, as I dont give a damn neither do I expect anything from anyone else. And I think its high time you let him pop the question. I want him off my ass...Arnav smirked at Aman.
Anjali blushed as she looked at Aman, I think so too..She said shyly and then turned to Arnav, I just dont want you or Khushi to go through any more pain in life. I dont trust Adi anymore not after the way he threatened. I want you guys to be caref..
What am I hearing? What did Adi say? Arnav looked up suspiciously.
Aman could sense that Arnav is about to burst out and he didnt want Anjali to face his wrath. It was his decision to hide it these 2 months, so he decided to let Anjali free of his buddy's outburst. Before Anjali could say a word, Aman cut her off, I will explain to him. You are running late.
Back off Aman, I need to know what Adi said before she leaves. Arnav spoke in grit.
She doesnt need to be here Arnie, I can explain.
Aman? Arnav glowered.
Arnie, Let her go. She doesnt have to go through this. Aman walked over and stood between Arnav and Anjali while Anjali looked at both of them confused.
While Arnav turned away angrily and impatiently waited for the couple to finish, Aman turned to her and whispered, You feel better?
She nodded..Everything OK between you both..
Oh its our usual stuff...
Anjali looked over his shoulder at Arnav who looked restless...I have to rush. I will meet you guys later. She hugged Aman tightly feeling dejected with Arnav's cold attitude.
I will see you tonight, Aman whispered as he let go off her hand.
Anjali waved bye to Arnav and dragged her feet as fast as she could. Is she happy? Yes to a certain extent but not entirely. Before she waved bye to Arnav she stood for a brief moment expecting Arnav to hug her to forgive her. His rooted position said it all that the pain is too deep and buried for years to let it go in one meeting but there is hope. With new hope, with new budding relation Anjali left the place.
Aman scooted back on his chair and stared at Arnav scowling at him. A hug was all that moment required.
I am neither in position to hug anybody nor let anyone console me. Now spit out about Adi?
Sometimes you have to put yourself in someone else's shoes before say anything Arnie. I am sorry to say but I am not happy with the way things went today.
Oh I am sorry Mr. Aman Verma for disappointing you with my cold blooded attitude. I am struggling every second to get my wife back into full of life and you expect me to wipe the tears of your sobbing girl friend who left no stone to hate me beyond hatred all her life. And you expect me to hug and brush it off... Arnav fumed almost about to lash the glass on the floor.
She is your sister before she became my girl friend. I just wished...Aman remained quiet, for the first time expecting his friend to understand his struggle of many years trying to balance his relation with 2 most important people in his life.
Arnav swore himself for losing his temper and for being such self-centered and inconsiderate. He sighed calming himself. I tried Aman. And I will keep trying if not for anyone, for you I will try to mend the relationship with Anjali. She is wonderful person, you know how much I adore her. Its just this is not my priority right now.
I understand Arnie, Its...its hard to see her like that. She had been waiting to talk to you for very long, ever since she chucked him out that night...Anyway, what were you saying about Bhabhi...
Just usual, nothing important. Tell me about Adi, what was Anjali saying?
So before he left the house, he said something like ruining you and Khushi from that very night. She said he looked quite dangerous with the way he said it.
Arnav shook his head acknowledging every word but he maintained very neutral unaffected stance, which is famous when Arnav puts his all brain streaming his next course of actions to the T. You are telling me this now?
You have been a wreck for last 2 months Arnie. I wanted you to sort your mind out before you do anything.
Kya kardiya yaar! You should have told me this on the same night. She wouldnt be what she is today. Goddammit, Arnav banged the table in ire.
Wait a min, does this have anything to do with why you reacted that night like that? Do you think Adi would have planned anything...
Possible. But he better be not. Make sure he is not leaving town until I say. The first thing that struck Arnav is the past connection of Adi with drugs.
Anybody who know Arnav personally would have been astonished at his subdued reaction learning that Adi is prime suspect. It was a lucid moment in all this madness for Arnav Singh Raizada, may be because he already had an inclination that it had to be Adi when he repeatedly ran his eyes through the guest list. It wouldnt take a second for Arnav to go and smack the life out of him, but in case if the person was not Adi, Arnav didnt want to put the treacherous night of Khushi out in public. And any secret dealing with Adi is like putting yourself in public mouth of humiliation. This was about Khushi and he couldnt afford to put her through another life battle, not anymore. This is one time chance and he better hit carefully and hard.
Having said that, was Arnav playing really cool, calm and composed? Not at all. The moment Aman confirmed that it might be Adi, Arnav had had to wrench himself forcibly not to stride through the roads to suck the life out of Adi, and every second from that moment, he robotised his brain and became unobtrusive to vanquish his desire to kill the man. He just hoped it was not Adi as he didnt want to break the promise he had given to Abhivanth Singh Raizada, that he would take care of Adi and Anjali. He would be breaking every promise he made if it turns out to be Adi. He promised himself that moment.
Do you want me to keep tab on him?
Arnav nodded No, Not at this time, I dont want to lead him into an escape. We will play by ears and be silent until I say further. I need to get back to the old penthouse. Did Officials cleared the No-entry restrictions.
They did 3 days ago. Arnie, why do I feel you are hiding something from me? Aman followed Arnav exiting the restaurant.
I am.
I understand if that's how you want to keep it. But let me help you with whatever you are doing. I know you can manage but you need a backup just in case if you planning to play dirty.
Arnav stared at Aman and thought for a brief moment. Arnav nodded NO. I will be OK. If I need any help, you will be the first person to know. Arnav walked over to his car when he stopped and turned around to Aman. And I dont want you to poke into this matter behind my back. I mean IT!
I wont! Aman smiled knowing the consequences of going against Arnav.
Arnav gave a nod of acknowledgement and got into the car not before saying, I will call Anjali later.
Aman Verma was a happy man who muttered Thank You Buddy while his friend slammed the roads with mission.
