Unspoken Love

Chapter 55

Khushi parked her bike some distance away from the Raizada Mansion. She walked slowly to the gate and peeped in to see that Arnav's car was still there. She had to wait for him to leave so that she could talk to the Raizadas about the plan of the surprise birthday party. Aman had already informed Akash about the party and Akash had told about it to everyone, except Arnav ofcourse.

Khushi was thinking about her ideas when she suddenly felt a gentle pat on her shoulder. "Oh my God!! Arnav! What will I tell him?" she thought as she closed her eyes before she turned. To her relief, it was the watchman. She sighed. Phew!!

"Arey Khushi madam? When did you come? I will inform Arnav Saheb right now... Sorry, I didn't see you come...!" saying so, the watchman went to his cabin and picked up the receiver of the phone to call Arnav.

Khushi hurried to him and snatched the receiver cutting the call. "No!!! Don't tell him!!"

The watchman stared at Khushi in shock and confusion. Khushi decided to tell him about the surprise party so that he won't create any problems in the future. The watchman understood what she told him and agreed to offer all the help needed. He was very excited about the party. Khushi told him to inform her when Arnav left for office and she walked to her bike.

Arnav asked the peon to tell Khushi to get some report. The peon informed that Khushi had not come to office. Arnav was surprised. It was almost lunch time and Khushi hadn't come yet. Arnav called Khushi. Khushi's phone began ringing when she was discussing her idea about the party with everyone at the Raizada Mansion. She excused herself and picked up the call.

"Khushi? You haven't come to office today? Why? Are you okay? You didn't even inform me! Is everything alright?" Arnav said almost in one breath.

Khushi wasn't sure what to say. She was thinking of an excuse. "Khushi? Say something!!" said Arnav impatiently.

Khushi faked a sneeze. Coughing purposely, she said in a pale voice, "Actually... I am a little unwell Arnav... Cough and cold... a little fever too.."

The others standing beside her guessed that it as Arnav's call and seeing Khushi's acting, they tried to control their laughter with great difficulty.

"See! I had told you... We should have gone in my car!! Pad gayi na beemaar!!" scolded Arnav, "Did you see a doctor?"

"No Arnav... No need to see a doctor... I'll be alright in a day or two..!!"

Just then Arnav got another call and he said that he would talk to Khushi later.

Khushi sighed as the call ended and then everyone including Khushi burst out laughing. They realised how difficult this was going to be. They resumed their discussion with everyone giving their valuable inputs. Combining all the ideas and suggestions, they finally came up with a super celebration plan. They all thanked Khushi and offered to help in every possible way. Aman too was in touch with Khushi and Akash to know about their progress.

Arnav called Khushi again in the evening to know about her health. Khushi was about to tell him that she would not be coming to office the next day, but Arnav himself told her to take rest for another day. Khushi was happy that she got what she wanted without even asking. Arnav just hoped that Khushi got well soon.

The preparations of Arnav's birthday party were going on in full swing. Everyone was closely associated with Khushi and they adored her. Khushi and Lavanya bonded very well with each other. Payal and Akash were very happy to see that everyone liked Khushi. They had no idea that Lavanya was planning to propose Arnav on his birthday. They had almost forgotten that Lavanya had come here to marry Arnav.

But Lavanya was planning for her surprise to Arnav. She thought that there wouldn't be a more special day than this to propose Arnav. She wanted to make the proposal very special and unique! She knew Arnav would say 'yes' because she believed that he loved her. She decided to prepare a special birthday card for Arnav. It was a special heart-shaped card red in colour. There was an opening in the center with a picture of Arnav depicting that Arnav lived in Lavanya's heart. There were some words written on it...

I love you Arnav!

And I know you love me too!!

Will you marry me?

Lavanya was very excited for the moment when Arnav will say 'yes'..!!

Arnav found Khushi's behaviour a bit strange. She avoided talking to him whenever possible because she feared that she would reveal about the surprise party by mistake. But Arnav didn't understand why Khushi was avoiding him. Arnav noticed that she was answering her calls secretly. She left office early a couple of days. Arnav tried to ask her about it but she avoided every time. And Arnav wasn't able to understand how every time Aman appeared from nowhere whenever Arnav wanted to talk to Khushi. Little did he know that Aman and Khushi were in the same team!

On the day before his birthday, Arnav decided to confront Khushi no matter what. Khushi was about to leave as she had to go supervise all the preparations of the party, when Arnav called her in his cabin. "Sir, I have some important personal work to do... So I have to leave early today!" she said and pulled the door of the cabin to leave.

But Arnav pushed the door close and turned Khushi towards himself holding her arms. Khushi was shocked at his action. Arnav left her arms immediately. "Khushi, what's going on? I want to know!! You are hiding something from me!" he said staring into her eyes.

Khushi was just staring at him with an open mouth knowing not what to say. "Sir, I will tell you everything later... I must go right now!" said Khushi but before she could move to the door she found herself trapped between Arnav's arms, the wall behind her and Arnav standing in front looking straight into her eyes.

"Khushi, please tell me! Why are you avoiding me these days?" he urged. Khushi felt so bad for Arnav, but how could she reveal the surprise?

Khushi looked into his watery eyes and she could see fear and pain in them.

"I won't let you go unless you tell me!" he said.

"Nothing like that Arnav..." said Khushi, "Why would I avoid you?"

"I don't know that Khushi... But you have changed! Why? So suddenly? Did I do anything wrong?"

"No Arnav...!!" Khushi felt guilty hearing Arnav's words but she had to leave now. "Arnav, believe me! I have to leave for an important work... We will talk about it later! Okay?"

Arnav did not seem convinced. He wasn't ready to let her go. She placed her palm on his cheek gently and said, "You need not worry Arnav, believe me..." She gently pushed away his arms and left the cabin.

Arnav was sitting on his bed wondering why Khushi had changed. Just then his phone buzzed. He had received a message. He opened it to see... "Happy Birthday Arnav!! Lots of love, Khushi" He realised that it was 12 o'clock and Khushi was the first one to wish him. He was so happy to see that message that he read it again and again. He received wishes from others too. He left for office as usual. He was excited to meet Khushi on this special day. As soon as he entered the office, all the staff welcomed him singing "Happy Birthday". The office was beautifully decorated. Arnav was surprised to see all this. He searched for Khushi but didn't find her. He asked Mansi about her and she told him that Khushi was not coming to office today. Arnav couldn't believe it. How could she not come even though she knew today was his birthday? Aman too had not come. Arnav was very sad. He called Khushi many times but she didn't answer the call. Khushi was actually very busy at the Raizada Mansion and she didn't notice the calls on her phone as it was on silent mode. Aman was there too. They wanted the party to be perfect and so everyone was working hard.

Arnav was very upset as he drove in through the gate of Raizada Mansion when he returned from office. The home was absolutely silent, that's what they had planned. Arnav walked to the door. The door was let open. He pushed open the door and a surprise awaited him! There were showers of flower petals and sparkles on him as the band played the "Happy Birthday" song to him. Everyone was present there smiling from ear to ear, clapping as they sang. Arnav was so glad to see Khushi and Aman. He couldn't believe they had planned such a big surprise for him. He was overwhelmed by the love and wishes he received. He smiled at Khushi as he understood why she was avoiding him and what she was hiding...
