As a common reply to all the comments, I would like to make clear a few things...

As you all have seen, Arnav has been very caring and worrying when it comes to Khushi. Aman, Akash and Payal are aware of it. Garima and Dadi too have noticed it. Khushi has started to realize her feelings for Arnav.

About Lavanya... Yes, she knows about the marriage talks going on. She loves Arnav since long. And she is here to marry him. She is determined to convince Arnav for the marriage, as everyone knows he won't be ready for stuff like marriage soon. Whether Lavanya is a positive or negative character, what problems will she create, will she disturb the relation between Arnav and Khushi... All these questions will be answered as we move on through the journey.

Chapter 24

Khushi opened her eyes. She was tired of sleeping. She checked her mobile screen to know that it was 6:30 am. She was feeling quite better now. She sat up on the bed and smiled for no reason. She was missing going to office and working on the project with her team. She was missing having lunch and coffee with Anjali and Shyam, though they came to meet her daily. She was missing Avi's flirting and Dolly's gossip. She was missing Sonali's taunts and Shikha's support. She was missing the lobby and the talks with Mansi. She was missing Aman's care and understanding. She was missing driving her bike. And the most important, she was missing Arnav! She was missing his scoldings, his anger, his irritation. She was missing his orders and warnings. She was missing his teasers and taunts. She was missing his care for her though he called her everyday to inquire about her health. Now she was bored sitting at home.

It was about 8 am. Garima entered Khushi's room with tea. She was surprised to see that Khushi was not in her bed. Just then Khushi came out having a bath.

"Arey waah! Aaj itni jaldi naha liya?!!" asked Garima surprised. Took bath so early today?! "Office jaana ho toh bhi itni jaldi nahi nahaati ho..." she teased. You don't bathe so early even when you have to go to office...

"I am going to office today, Amma..." declared Khushi as she dried her hair with the towel. "Don't forget to keep my lunch box ready...!" she added.

"But Khushi, you are not perfectly well yet... you should rest for a day or two more...!" suggested Garima.

"No Amma, I am very bored now... I need to go out... I will feel better! And there is no better place than my office!" she said smiling. Of course Garima understood Khushi's boredom due to inactiveness. And she very well knew that Khushi won't listen now if told to stay at home.

Garima went away after placing the cup of tea on the table.

Arnav was getting ready. He was about to go take bath but he suddenly stopped and picked up his phone on the table. He felt like talking to Khushi. He opened the call logs. The last called number was Khushi's. He was about to dial the number but he didn't. "Kal raat ko hi toh baat ki hai uss se... If I call her again now, she might get irritated. Also she may be sleeping... I shouldn't call her now..." he thought as he kept the phone away. "Don't know when she will start coming to office again... Anyways, why should I care...? She will come whenever she gets well..." he thought as he went to take bath. He couldn't stop thinking of Khushi. "Hope she gets well soon..."

Garima was waiting for Khushi to come downstairs. "Why isn't Khushi ready yet?" wondered Garima and she went to Khushi's room to check. Garima was shocked to see the bed covered with huge pile of dresses. Khushi was standing in front of the mirror checking each dress one by one, confused as which one to wear.

"Khushi, what is all this?" asked Garima confused. Khushi never took so much time to get ready.

"Amma, I am very confused which dress to wear... You tell me..." said Khushi comparing two dresses in her hand. "I know your choice...!" she said showing the red dress in her hand. "You always say that this dress suits me very well... So I will wear this one...!! I will be ready in two minutes!!" said Khushi. Garima left wondering what could be the reason behind this sudden change.

After some time Khushi came down and everyone kept looking at her. She was looking beautiful in the red dress, with matching ear-rings, bangles and bindi. And for a change, she had also applied kajal today.

"Arey waah! Aaj toh meri beti bohot khoobsurat lag rahi hai...!!" commented Shashi. My girl is looking very beautiful today! Khushi blushed. Garima knew exactly what this transformation was for. She could make out that Khushi was attracted towards Arnav. And all this was just for him. She didn't say anything. She couldn't deny that Khushi was looking beautiful today. She went towards Khushi.

"Amma, what are you doing?"

"Nazar utaar rahi hoon tumhaari...!" said Garima as she put a mark of kajal behind Khushi's ear.

"Okay, I must leave now...!" said Khushi putting the lunch box in her satchel.

"Take care beta..." said Shashi. "And go with Shyam today. Don't drive."

"Okay Babuji...!" said Khushi.

"Khushi!" called Garima, "Did you take the strips of medicines with you?"

"Yes Amma... don't worry...!" said Khushi as she took out her phone to call Shyam. Just then she saw Shyam coming out of the gate.

"Shyam!!" she called out. Shyam stopped.

"And don't forget to take the medicines after lunch!!!" reminded Garima.

"Haan Amma, I won't forget!!! Now bye...!!" said Khushi as she walked toward Shyam, who was waiting there on his bike.

Shyam saw Khushi walk towards him and he just kept looking at her... She was looking so beautiful.

"Aise kya dekh rahe ho?" asked Khushi. What are you looking at?

"You are looking gorgeous..." he said, still lost in her.

She just turned his face away with her palm saying, "Now look in front and drive...!!" And she laughed. "Thanks Shyam" thought Khushi, "I want to hear the same from Arnav Sir..."

Shyam smiled as Khushi sat behind him. They left for office.

Shashi too left for work. Garima looked a bit worried. Dadi came to her...

"What happened Garima? You look worried..."

"Maa ji, you too must have noticed how Khushi is attracted towards Arnav Singh Raizada..."

"Yes, I have observed that... But also saw how much Arnav cared for her..." said Dadi.

"Maa ji, I am worried for Khushi. You know she is very innocent... and very sensitive too..." said Garima. "Yeh bade ghar ke bete... inka koi bharosa nahi hota... These big names are never to be trusted and Khushi doesn't understand it yet... He is caring for her today, tomorrow he will care for someone else... These are just temporary feelings... Khushi shouldn't fall prey to them... I know her very well, she won't be able to handle a heart-break..." Garima was very worried.

Dadi could understand her worry. And she agreed with Garima.

"Yes Garima, you are right... Humaari bachchi bohot bholi hai... Woh yeh sab baatein nahi samajhti..." Our girl is very innocent... She doesn't understand all these things...

"Maa ji, main aaj hi uss se iss baare mein baat karti hoon...! I will talk to her when she returns... And I will have to talk to Shashi too...!"

Dadi agreed. "But be cautious... don't hurt her... okay?"

"Maa ji, how can I hurt her? I will surely take care of that..."

Here, Arnav reached office and the first question he asked Mansi was "Has Khushi come today?"

He got the reply he didn't want... a "No"...!! He just sighed and began walking towards his cabin when he saw Shyam and Khushi through the window. This time he didn't envy Shyam... Because he didn't think of him at all! He was lost in Khushi! She was the same Khushi, but something was different... Something was special... Red was Arnav's favourite colour... He always liked it... But today the red colour looked more beautiful on Khushi... She was looking fresh and the sight of her refreshed Arnav... He couldn't stop admiring Khushi... so simple yet so beautiful... He lips curved into a faint smile unknowingly. Before Khushi and Shyam reached the lobby, Arnav told mansi to send Khushi to his cabin if she comes, as if he had not seen her come, and he went to his cabin.

Khushi signed on the register.

"Khushi, you are back finally...!! How are you yaar?" asked Mansi, pleased to see Khushi.

"I am fine... Pata hai, I was so bored sitting at home..." said Khushi with a crooked face.

"Khushi...!!" Anjali arrived. She hugged Khushi lightly... "So, all well?!" she asked.

"Yup!! It had to be...!!" said Khushi winking. All smiled.

"And you know what, you are looking awesome today...!!" said Anjali.

"Yeah, I was also gonna say that...!" said Mansi.

Khushi just smiled. "Now I am waiting for Arnav Sir to see me..." she thought.

Shyam and Anjali left to their respective work places.

"Arnav Sir was asking about you..." told Mansi.

"What did he say?" asked Khushi curiously.

"He has told me to send you to him when you come...!" told Mansi.

"Okay...! I will just check then..." said Khushi and went towards the cabin.

She knocked, "May I come in, Sir?"

"Yes..." said Arnav. He was glad that Khushi was alright.

Khushi went in. Arnav just looked at her. Khushi was waiting in anticipation to hear praise from Arnav. She purposely moved her hand through her hair and made sound of her bangles and tried to point out to the kajal indirectly, so that he would notice the small changes. He was about to speak something and Khushi waited curiously...

"How are you now?" he asked plainly. Khushi's curiosity drained away. How are you?! Just that? Her smile faded away.

"I am fine..." she said.

"So no more medicines now?"

"Medicines are to be taken for three more days..." she replied.

"Why did you come then?" said Arnav, "you should have taken rest...!"

"Woh main ghar pe bohot bore ho gayi thi..." she said in a very childish way. I got very bored at home...

Arnav smiled at her innocence.

"Okay... but don't take too much stress..." he said.

Khushi was still waiting for the compliment from him.

"Go now... the team must be waiting for you... They will brief you with the progress... I will join you soon..."

Khushi left the cabin. She was sad. "Everyone complimented me except Arnav Sir...! Jis ke liye main tayyar hui thi use pata bhi nahi chala..." she thought. The person for whom I got ready for today didn't even notice...

Later, Khushi, Avi and two others were in Arnav's cabin. They were seriously discussing about the event, when a young girl, about 25, opened the door of the cabin and entered in. Everyone was surprised at her sudden entry, that too without permission. She smiled at everyone present there and went straight to Arnav.

"Arnav, I have brought lunch for you...!!" she said gleefully. "I have specially made everything today for you... I am sure you will like it...!! I have made your favourite Aaloo-mutur!!!"

Everyone was staring at her and Arnav. Khushi was already sad, and this saddened her even more.

Arnav was very irritated. "Lavanya?!! What are you doing here?" he asked.

"Lavanya..? So she is the one... Arnav's childhood friend..." recalled Khushi.

"Arey... kaha na maine... I have brought lunch for you...!" said Lavanya smiling.

"Uhh... I think we should leave now..." said Avi. And everyone began walking out of the cabin. Khushi was still looking at Lavanya who was sitting on the table facing Arnav. Arnav looked at Khushi. He wanted to speak but Avi pulled Khushi out of the cabin.

Everyone, except Khushi, began gossiping about Lavanya and Arnav. Avi noticed Khushi. "Arey meri jaanemann, why are you so sad...?!"

Khushi just nodded to say "nothing".

Avi knew something was troubling her. She was sad for some reason. He tried to make her feel better...

"Waise, many here must have already told you, but I would like to say it again... that you are looking beautiful today...!!" he said. "Anything special?" he winked.

Khushi just smiled sadly... She sighed controlling the tears not to fill her eyes. "I wanted to hear this from someone else..." she said to herself. "Except him, everyone else said it... Mujhe sirf ek baar unse sunna tha... sunna tha ki main aaj achhi lag rahi hoon... Lekin sab ulta ho gaya..."

And more than that, Lavanya bringing lunch for Arnav had pinched Khushi. Afterall, Lavanya was Arnav's childhood friend...

Aaj ka din mere liye kuchh khaas tha...

Dil mein jaga ek haseen ehsaas tha...

Chaaha tha kuchh, kuchh aur hi mila...

Kya kabhi kum hoga yeh faasla...?
