Chapter 33

Arnav and Khushi reached the Raizada Mansion. They came to the door and saw Akash and Payal enjoying their evening tea. Payal looked on as Akash sipped the tea.

"Aaj chai Hariprakash ne nahi banayi... I have prepared the tea today... specially for you..!!" said Payal expecting Akash to praise it.

"Achha? You have made it?" asked Akash. Payal nodded in excitement. "Tabhi toh main soch raha hoon why the tea is so tasteless today...!!" said Akash teasing Payal.

"Haww!!" Payal's jaw dropped. She turned away pretending to be upset. Akash smiled as he put his hand around her shoulder and pulled her towards himself.

Khushi and Arnav stood there watching them. They looked at each other and smiled.

"I wish you too love me like this...!!" thought Khushi as she looked at Arnav.

Akash and Payal were lost into each other.

"You know what" said Akash in a husky voice, "there is magic in your hands..." he kissed Payal's hands.

Khushi was staring in awe. She unknowingly held Arnav's hand. Arnav looked at her left hand that had tightly gripped his right one. He was somewhat shocked, but he didn't mind. He looked at her. She was so simple yet so beautiful. Her silky hair waved along with the gentle breeze. Her beautiful brown eyes led straight to her heart. Her innocence, her sincerity, her dedication, her gentleness, her understanding... all contributed to her beauty... the inner beauty. Arnav too held her hand now. He knew she wouldn't mind. He couldn't stop looking at her, he couldn't stop admiring her. He could spend hours and even days staring at her. Khushi was unaware that she was holding Arnav's hand. She was lost in imagining Arnav placing gentle kiss on her hands the way Akash kissed Payal's. Arnav smiled looking at her. He knew he had found someone who could make him believe that life is beautiful, who understood him, with whom he could share everything, whom he could believe in, who would support and guide him through all the tough situations in life. He felt blessed to have met Khushi and he felt thankful to Aman to have offered Khushi the job against his wish.

Just then Riya came running there. She was so happy to see Khushi that she came and hugged her legs. Akash and Payal realised that Arnav and Khushi were present there. Akash quickly pulled back his hand and both stood up, embarrassed. No one spoke anything. All four just smiled looking at each other. Akash and Payal did not fail to notice that Arnav and Khushi were holding each other's hands. They both exchanged glances, happy to see love blossoming between Arnav and Khushi.

Riya happily asked, "Khushi Didi, you have come to play game with me, hai na?"

Khushi didn't know what to say. She just smiled. She was about to speak when Arnav said, "No Riya, Khushi Didi will play with you some other time, okay? She has come here for Chachu...!!" Khushi looked at Arnav in surprise. Arnav continued, "So she will not play with you now, okay?!"

Riya frowned. Khushi felt bad for her. "Riya, Didi has work to do now... Next time when I come, I will surely play with you, okay? Bohot masti karenge hum!!" said Khushi to satisfy little Riya.

Riya was very happy. "Pakka promise?" said Riya extending her hand.

Khushi placed her right palm gently on Riya's tiny hand saying, "Pakka promise!!"

Riya jumped with joy. Everyone was amused to see how even very small things can make children so happy. Riya ran towards Payal and stood besides her holding her finger. Arnav was about to take Khushi to his room.

Just then Payal asked "How are you Khushi?"

Arnav had to wait now.

"I am good...!!" said Khushi smiling.

Arnav didn't have patience to wait more. Akash and Payal couldn't stop noticing those hands holding each other. Arnav was about to speak but Akash spoke instead.

"Uhm... Khushi, Papa was saying that your presentation with Arnav was great! Congratulations!" said Akash.

Khushi and Arnav exchanged glances.

"Thank you!" replied Khushi.

Arnav was about to walk ahead with Khushi but he had to wait yet again as Akash continued to speak.

"So, how is your current project going on?" Akash asked Khushi.

Khushi was about to reply but Arnav interrupted. "Bhaiya, will you talk to Khushi later please?! Right now, I want to show her something...!!" said Arnav impatiently.

"Sure...!!" said Akash smiling.

"Come...!" said Arnav to Khushi as they both walked to his room hand in hand.

Lavanya came out of her room hearing Arnav's voice. She was surprised to see Arnav come home so early. "When I had called him and told him to come early today..." she thought and recalled what Arnav had said... Sorry Lavanya, I am very busy today... can't come home early...!! Bye!! "If he was so busy, how did he come home early? And that too with Khushi...!!" wondered Lavanya. She was very jealous to see Arnav taking Khushi to his room holding her hand. Lavanya hurried behind them to see what was so special in his room.

Payal saw Lavanya going towards Arnav's room. She didn't want Lavanya to interfere between Arnav and Khushi. She began thinking of some idea to keep Lavanya away from them.

"Lavanya..!" she called out. Lavanya turned. "Come, let's prepare something special for the evening snacks!!" said Payal.

"Now?!" Lavanya asked spontaneously. She just wanted to see what Arnav was going to show to Khushi.

"Ofcourse now!! I am talking about the evening snacks, not tomorrow's breakfast!!" said Payal laughing. Lavanya looked helplessly at Arnav and Khushi. "What are you looking at? Come...!!" said Payal.

Lavanya cursed her fate as she reluctantly went to the kitchen along with Payal. Payal and Akash exchanged glances. Akash showed a 'thumbs up' saying 'well done' to Payal and also gestured that he would keep an eye on what's going on with Arnav and Khushi.

Khushi was curious to know what Arnav wanted to show her. She suddenly felt her hand uncovered and empty as Arnav pulled out his hand to unlock his room. And then Khushi realised that she was holding Arnav's hand since don't know how long. She blushed as she held her left hand in her right one and brought it close to her heart. Akash was watching curiously from a distance. Khushi was trying to recall whether Arnav had locked his room when she had last come. No, he hadn't. And why would anyone lock his/her room? Khushi was confused. "I hope he has not brought me here to search for some file...!!" she thought. She couldn't resist herself from asking, "Sir, have you brought me to look for a file?"

Arnav smiled at her question. His smile confused Khushi. He had unlocked the door but he did not open it. He stepped aside gesturing Khushi to push open the door and naughtily said, "See for yourself...!!"

Looking at Arnav's naughty smile, Khushi was not sure whether she should open the door. Akash was waiting for Khushi to push open the door.

Arnav looked at Khushi and said, "Itna mut socho yaar... There is no need to worry, no one's gonna eat you...!!" he teased her.

Khushi smiled. "I know!" she said. Finally, she pushed the door with both her hands. She was stunned and pleasantly surprised at the sight in front.
