Epilogue

Arnav was missing his Maa. She would have been so happy to see us together! But she had sent Nilima to take care of everyone and to give them all the love.

Khushi was sitting on the bed leaning back. Arnav was lying across on the bed with his head on Khushi's lap. Both were silent. Khushi was staring at the wall in front and Arnav at the ceiling above. Khushi felt Arnav's body shiver. He was feeling guilty that he had treated Nilima so badly. Khushi weaved her fingers through his hair as her eyes filled with tears seeing his condition. Arnav was still staring at the ceiling.

"Everytime..." said Arnav, "Everytime I was wrong!! I was wrong in judging people so close to me... I can never recognize people... never!" Khushi gently rubbed his chest as he spoke, "I was wrong about Sheetal... I was wrong about YOU!! I never was able to understand Maa... And I was so wrong about, about..." he paused to breathe, "Love!" A lone tear escaped his eye. He was still staring at the ceiling. "Am I so bad? Do I deserve to be loved? Am I so..."

"Shhh...!!" Khushi stopped him from speaking further. "Enough Arnav... It was not you... It were the times...! The bad days are gone now! Everything is fine!" said Khushi caressing him.

"Why do you love me so much?! Why? Even after I gave you so much pain, even after I played with your life, even after I broke your heart, even after I treated you in the worst ways one ever can, even after I..."

"Arnav... All that is past now! Whatever happened till now doesn't matter as long as the present and the future is beautiful" said Khushi. "And you have made my life beautiful, Arnav" she smiled.

Her smile was making him feel guiltier. More tears filled his eyes as he said, "Don't love me so much Khushi... I would die of the guilt of not living upto your expectations...!! I would die of the guilt of not giving you the love you deserved... the guilt of being such a..."

Khushi placed her palm on his mouth. "I have got much much more than I had expected Arnav...!! And you know what, you are the best and the most loving husband ever!!" she said. Both laughed as tears filled their eyes.

Arnav looked into Khushi's eyes as he held her hand beween both his hands. "I love you Khushi... I love you very much!" he said.

Khushi nodded with a smile saying, "I know"

Arnav further said, "And I am sorry for all the pain, for all the tears I gave you... I am really sorry!"

"You don't have to be..." whispered Khushi.

"Khushi, I know you understand me very well, and you will forgive me... "

Khushi smiled in agreement. "I have forgiven you long back!" she said.

Arnav kept looking at her for a moment and then hugged her tightly, his arms around her waist and his head into her belly. Khushi too held him tightly as he lay on her lap. Khushi's words had relieved all his burden. He could now sleep peacefully in the most protective and the most comfortable sheath of his dear wife's love and belief.

A week later...

"Khushi!!! Where are you? Still getting ready? Everyone is waiting for you...!!" Arnav entered their room calling out for Khushi.

"Just two minutes Arnav..." came the reply from his beautiful wife who was standing in front of the mirror wearing her ear-rings.

Arnav couldn't resist coming close to her. He hugged her from behind as his hands traced the path round her belly.

"Arnav!! What are you doing?! Leave me... You just now said that everyone is waiting downstairs for the family photo...!" said Khushi trying to push him away.

"Shhh..." Arnav silenced her. He took the ear-rings in his hands. Putting them gently through the holes, he blew on her neck sending a wave of shiver across her body.

Khushi closed her eyes as she tightly held onto his hands. "Arnav..." she whispered.

Just then Akash and Payal came there to see why Arnav and Khushi had not come down yet. Akash cleared his throat to indicate his and Payal's presence.

"Let's go down if you both are done with your... ahem ahem...!!" teased Payal.

Arnav and Khushi were very embarassed and they silently followed.

A photographer was called to take their family photo. And after that, Arnav and Khushi had to board their flight to Singapore for their honeymoon. Everyone had gone to the airport to see the couple off. Office colleagues were there too. Aman, Pooja, Shyam and Anjali were very happy for Arnav and Khushi. The Raizadas and the Guptas felt satisfied seeing their children happy. Dolly, Avi, Pranav and others were there too.

Avi saw a beautiful lady standing there. He walked to her, "Hi... I am Avinash, aka Avi.." he said.

"Lavanya..." the lady introduced herself with a smile.

"Are you married?" he asked.

"No..!" replied Lavanya.

"Are you in a relationship?" he asked.

"No.." she said with a chuckle.

"What a coincidence!" Avi said dramatically, "I too was single a moment ago... But now I doubt it..!" he said in his usual style.

Lavanya was amused. She was really enjoying the conversation. "Are you flirting with me?" she asked naughtily.

"I wasn't till now... But now I think I should...!!" he replied with a wink.

"So, Mrs. Khushi Kumari Gupta Singh Raizada, are you happy?" asked Arnav, as he and Khushi occupied their seats in the plane.

"Hmmm..." said Khushi as she held Arnav's arm and rested her head on his shoulder, "Very happy...!!" she said, "Sometimes I doubt all this is real... All this seems like a dream..."

Arnav placed his head on hers saying, "Hmmm... But believe me, all this is real... And even if it is a dream, don't worry! I will never let you wake up!!"
