This is a very short update. But this was necessary to take the story forward.

I didn't want to have a mixture of emotions in this one. I decided to deal with Khushi's problem in a separate chapter keeping this a short one just to show what is going on with the others.

Chapter 36

Akash was talking to Aman on the phone. Payal sat beside him listening curiously.

"... So what do you think Aman? Did Arnav say anything to you?" asked Akash.

"No Bhaiya... But though he didn't say anything, it is quite clear that he loves Khushi!" replied Aman.

"How can you be so sure?"

"Bhaiya, except Arnav, everyone in the office knows this!! It is the new topic for gossip in the office!"

"Oh is it?"

"Yes Bhaiya, and today was the height! Arnav held Khushi's hand in front of everyone in the office and took her along with him!"

Akash laughed. "Oh my God!" he said. "Okay, now we need to make Arnav realise his feelings for Khushi!"

"Yes Bhaiya! You are right!"

"Don't worry... I will go and search for Khushi!" said Arnav as he hurried towards his car.

"Wait Sir!" said Shashi, "I too will come along!"

"Okay!" said Arnav as he unlocked the car.

Shashi and Arnav were about to get in the car when Shashi's phone began ringing. "It's Khushi!!" he said in joy as he saw the name flashing on his mobile screen. He quickly answered the call as Arnav and Garima listened curiously.

"Hello... Khushi where are you beta?!!... Hello?!! Khushi?!!!... I am unable to hear your voice!!... Hello?!!... Are you alright Khushi?... Hello!!" and the call was disconnected.

Shashi's heart was beating fast. He dialled Khushi's number again but was disappointed to hear the engage tone.

"Is she alright?! What did she say?!!" asked Garima desperately. Seeing Shashi's worried face, she could sense something was wrong. Arnav too waited anxiously for Shashi's reply.

"I couldn't hear her voice! Probably there is some problem in the network!" Though he said this, he wasn't sure. Being the father of a young and beautiful girl, several horrifying thoughts flooded into his mind. A wave of shiver passed through his body as he thought of what could happen to Khushi. He again tried to call Khushi but in vain.

Garima was very worried. Her eyes watered. She just prayed that Khushi be safe and sound.

Nilima still couldn't believe whatever had happened. She sat on the bed with tears in her eyes... all alone, lost in her thoughts. She suddenly felt a warm touch on her shoulders. She quickly wiped her tears to see Anup who then sat beside her.

"I am very happy today, Nilima...!" said Anup putting his arm around her shoulders.

"He called me 'Maa' today!!" she said happily as more tears rolled down her eyes. "Today I got my son back!! After all these years... I.. I am so happy...! Aap nahi jaante main kitni khush hoon!!" she said placing her head on Anup's shoulder.

"I know Nilima..." said Anup, "All thanks to Khushi!! God bless that girl!" he said gladly.

Suddenly Nilima realised something and pulled herself back from Anup. Anup was confused.

"Has Arnav told everything to Khushi?" she asked looking at Anup.

"I guess so..." said Anup. "I am surprised too... Arnav never spoke about it to anyone... But he told Khushi everything, probably... But why are you thinking about it?!! Forget it and be happy!!" He took Nilima into his embrace.

"You know, I am feeling so happy as if I am a mother who has just now given birth to her child!!" said Nilima. Anup laughed caressing her. "Today is the happiest day of my life" she said and Anup agreed with a smile.
