Chapter 1:
With just 5 days left for this contract marriage, the purpose had already been achieved. Fake Svetlana had been exposed and arrested. The actual one who was in coma had been hospitalized on charges of brain damage. Tej was shocked to know the actual proceedings and his ego had been bruised very badly. He is Tej Singh Oberoi, the icon of Oberoi Empire. He was fooled by a con woman. He stood for her against his entire family; she was the cause of long standing feud with his son, but he was fooled, badly. He felt disgusted to face his own son, who has given his share of insult back, for getting involved with a con woman blindly, despite being a very successful and a rich businessman. He is done. Enough damage has been already done to his reputation and personal life. He is not seeking any other woman, any more. Though he had no plans to reconcile with his wife, Jhanvi, immediately but he is not keeping the option shut. He wanted to allow things to settle down. He wanted his own ego to redeem from the bruise that it has badly suffered.
It was Gauri who discovered the chip in the robot and alerted Omkaara. They could trace down the clues one by one after that regarding all her murder attempts. Omkaara's relief knew no bounds when Svetlana was arrested infront of his eyes. Infact an additional bonus to that was that when he heard Tej's heartfelt conversation with his daadi. Tej was repenting about his foolishness to have gone behind this con woman. Though he carefully avoided the reconciliation with Jhanvi, but his repentance was evident. Omkaara felt that finally his life is falling in to place. He was very much aware of Gauri's pivotal role in all this and wanted to thank her. Rudra, Shivaay & Priyanka also were happy about the happenings since all problems in Omkaara's life has come to end and now that he will lead a peaceful life with Gauri. None of them knew of the contract marriage except Om & Gauri. Shivaay had organized a party as a thankful gesture to all the private investigators and well wishers who helped crack down Svetlana. Om was in the party too, along with Rudra. None of the ladies were present at the party. Omkaara was happy to have overheard the convo between tej and daadi that evening. He was in elated mood and was more than happy to have a toast with his brothers. Omkaara was drunk but not heavily drunk to not know what's going on. When he returned to the room, Gauri was not to be found. Ripple sounds of water heard from the washroom indicated that she is taking a shower. Why is she taking bath at this time of night?, he was wondering.
He changed silently and prepared to sleep. Gauri came out of the washroom, her hair dripping wet and her face as fresh as a dew. She wasn't aware that Omkaara was back as she directly went in front of the mirror. She wiped her hair with the towel with droplets of water scattering around. She looked a celestial nymph with wet hair and milky white complexion, in the moon light that seeped through the window. Omkaara was literally staring at her as she picked up her mangalsutra and wore it. His drunk state, the mesmerizing ambiance of the room, exquisite looking wife all wreaked havoc to his usually controlled mind. She was applying sindoor, blissfully unaware of her husband literally staring his every way. Omkaara couldn't control more.. He went near her as Gauri noticed him coming through the mirror with widened eyes. She was surprised to look at him, coming near her, his expression puzzling her inner self. Her expression changed from normal to expressionless, as always, when they are alone. She kept standing like a statue, as he inched closer.
"Gauri.." His voice was soft and husky unlike the usual expressionless base voice that he was talking to her these days. Something in his voice, bothered her.
"Haan."
"Mujhe kuch kehna tha tumse.."
"Kahiye"
"Wo.. I wanted to thank you for helping to expose Svetlana. Agar tum wo clue pakad nahi lethi, we couldn't have exposed her. Now, usko arrest kiya gaya hai, aur Mr oberoi bhi, apni galti ke liye guilty feel kar rahe.. It's a good sign. So thank you very much." His thanks came from the heart and his voice was genuinely appreciating..
Gauri felt that he is talking like this to her after a very long time. He used to speak this way when she was chulbul. She was happy that she could help him get out of his complicated situation. She smiled back.
"Humhe pehle se hi viswaas tha, ki hum sultana ko kabhi na kabhi pakad hi lenge.. bas wo clue nahi mil raha tha.. abh mil gaya aur wo chali gayi.. ab maaji bhi khus rahegi.." she smiled with all her heart.
Omkaara was drawn by that smile. He felt a change inside. He moved near her .. Gauri's eyes were clouded unsure of his actions. He wasn't in his guard to hold him back. He is happy after a very long time and it is because of her, even though he would hate to accept it, when he was sober. He clutched her hand and pulled her close for a hug.. Gauri was all the more surprised. She was sure, that he is not normal. By now, his hateful glances had become routine to her. What had changed suddenly.?. She then realized that he went to a party.
Is he drunk?
Omkaara was feeling like heaven. The pressing depression in his mind about his mother's life had evaporated because of svetlana's arrest. His mind and body felt so light and he was in a elated mood. He so wanted to share it with her (knowingly or unknowingly). He was trying to get more involved in the hug. He caressed his face against her neck as he inhaled her fresh scent up. Gauri was still in confused state onhow to react. She was trying to stand detached. But she wasn't able to. Omkaara's advances were too tempting and desirable. She was not able to resist him, even after knowing that he is not in his senses. His grip was getting harder by every passing minute and now he was kissing her wherever his lips touched her body. Gauri closed her eyes. Her mind kept warning her that this isn't true while her body wasn't listening. The sheer intensity of his warmth and lips were ruining her mind. Totally unaware about Gauri's state, Omkaara continued until he pulled her lips for an insatiable kiss. Gauri lost herself in him until about a moment, when her consciousness awoke. No this is not right, he is not kissing her out of inner emotions. He is kissing her because of sheer physical impulsiveness. She pulled out in the middle of the kiss and turned back leaving both of them, grasping for breath. Omkaara was disappointed very much to have stopped the kiss in the middle of raging intensity. He wasn't able to bear it. Anger and frustration overwhelming, he told the most cruel words to her, which broke the already fragile relationship in to pieces..
