What Avinash did was wrong- nothing justifies it, but there is always some sense of closure in explanation. That's what I liked about the tone of this fight. Avinash isn't looking to justify his actions, he explains what he did, and recognizes that it's wrong and that he deserved to be punished for it. I'm glad Arnav had a chance to hear him out on this, because he had to. Regardless of whether forgiveness comes or not, whether it comes now or later... it's always, always good to hear out the other side- even if they're dead wrong. Arnav now has his father's side- and he's equipped to make the decision on whether or not he wants to forgive him.

You beautifully portrayed Avinash's desire to see his son. I hate what he did, I cannot hate him for wanting so desperately to see Arnav. I can't hate the love he has for his son. You perfectly captured the moment when he sees Arnav, drinking him in like a man who hasn't had water for days. Just seeing him is satisfaction enough, like you show right here: Avinash didn't care his son called him by his name. That didn't matter. What mattered was he was willing to speak with him. Something he had been yearning for years.

That sentence up there says it all. After that sentence... damn it, Di, you made me feel his pain and regret at losing his son so acutely. So, so well portrayed.

The flashback made me blink back tears. Not out of sadness, but of amazement at Sofia's strength of character. None of this was her doing. But she's willing to admit that she failed to see that their marriage needed attention, and she teaches her children about her experience and how they should apply that experience to their own lives. It's such a parent thing to do, and you've written it so well. But at the same time, she makes sure that she knows within herself that this wasn't her fault, that what Avinash did is on his conscience. She doesn't let him push her around. And even though it must hurt her... she's willing to go through that pain so that her son won't be without a parent, and so that he can reconnect with his father. She knows Avinash loves his son- and she's willing to put aside her pain to let him have that. That takes so much strength- and it's a testament to how well you've written her.

Love always,
Your Choti.

Many congratulations for Thread 5 my darling. ❤️ And what an amazing opening you've given us! 👏

"See the flower, how generously it distributes perfume and honey. When it's work is done, it falls away quietly. Try to be like the flower, unassuming despite all it's qualities."

A.P.J. Abdul Kalam

Sofia Raizada embodies this flower. Her perfume lingers in her children. Her ability to rise above the self, while keeping her self respect, is a lesson on living. Being able to acknowledge your own fault in something that's gone wrong when there is another whose culpability is far more apparent, shows great mettle on her part. And then to voice it to her child shows her immense strength of character. I liked how she refused Avinash's financial help. She had managed to rebuild her life by then. And also when she tells Anjali that Arnav can't dictate to her. To love someone shouldn't include being walked over at the cost of your dignity. Total respect for this remarkable character you've written Jigs.

Avinash whispering "Arnav ... " does make you feel sorry for the father seeking to make reparation for the hurt inflicted on his child. But to able to forgive the man is another thing. He was weak in deed and spirit.

And hearing Arnav say "the day my father left us ..." makes your heart go out to the little boy he was. This cauldron of anger, pain, resentment, hatred, bewilderment that's bubbling in him was brilliantly brought out Jigs. Forgiveness may not be forthcoming but this is at least a first step towards acceptance. Realising an idolised father is a fallible human being, is not easy for a twelve year old. Years of antagonism can't be reconciled in a moment.

This entire confrontation has been brilliantly written Jigs. It's not just what each one of them was saying, it was the unspoken reaction of all those present in the room to those words that was superbly conveyed. The play of emotions on their faces. Their physical responses. Everything just spot on. Kudos to you and your writing my love ❤️

Jigs...kya update diya yaar..mai heart is bhaari bhaari.. I will update my comment first thing tomorrow morning.. little disturbed from our beloved Dr Kalam's death :-(

so sorry for late un'res...

First thing came into my mind, Thank god coward didn't kill his family and commit suicide when he lost everything..!!!!!!!!! ( I remember reading a news where a Indian family committed suicide during recession in CA)... Avinash took another coward's way out..ran of leaving Sofia with kids on their own..!! and now he gives his mom's illness as a reason.. one good thing is that, that lady didn't force her son to marry a desi girl in her death bed..!! he himself did it for her..and Tanvi , how can she do this to another woman? she could have been his just friend..

why did Anjali wanted to stay when father son were talking? giving strength to her dad hearing bitter truth????? Arnav gave her fitting reply..lets c how she will amend it..

Sofia is a great lady..she sensed her death and wanted to give advice to Arnav so that they wont end up divorced..hope Arhi learn a lesson..

Jigs, send them to Hawai directly from LA..skip San Diego..wahan aur drama hoga :-)

this chapter is my fav in Revealed :-)

Jigs,

Congratulations on reaching thread #5 and I am sure Revaled journey will have many more threads 👏.

Coming to update, very well written confrontation between father and son. Now we know what happened more than two decades ago that shattered Raizada lives. There is no doubt Avinash is responsible for the debacle and his family's grief and agony. Sofia being such a bright and strong woman, how did she fail to notice that she and her husband are drifting apart? After having kids why many women tend to distance from husband? Where the problem lays? Is it communication gap or lack of physical desire or what forces the spouse (most cases men) to have affair outside marriage?
Arnav's reaction meeting his father is as expected. I think it is high time to vent out the anger and pain, once for all and put lid to this anguish. Avinash, seems to be a man ready to accept his mistakes and seek apologies but isn't it little too late?. His actions destroyed a little boy's childhood, a daughter's dream dad and a woman's happily ever after. However vulnerable Avinash was, his actions are not justified.

Sofia was a wonderful mother and awesome mother-in-law every person wishes to have. I love her character and strength. Whoever said mothers intution can sense what is going on with her kids without a word holds very true for Sofia. She understood where her son's anger and confining himself will lead his and Kushi's life to. Even before her death, she tried to build peace between father and son. My hats off to Sofia Airo Raizada and her matchless character.

Anjali, sweet sister getting crushed between her father, promise to her mother and her treasured brother. She will always be loved by her brother and sister-in-law and I am sure her efforts will not go futile.

Jigs, Can I just hug you. 🤗
This hug is for giving us such an emotional yet such a beautiful update.

As I have always said, giving words to emotions particularly sorrow, betrayal or suffering is very tough, But everytime you outdo yourself by giving us such emotion filled powerful updates and everytime dammit you bring tears in my eyes.

Listening to what Avinash had to say, his reasons for infidelity, I thought how selfish can someone get, justifying his actions after more than two decades in front of his son so that he can die without guilt. He was never there when his son needed him while growing up, he was not there when his son graduated, he was not there when his son fell in love and got married and now when he is getting closer to graveyard, he wants forgiveness from his family so that he can die peacefully.

"Happily ever after" just does not fall into couple's laps from heavens, they have to work towards it.
Which married couple don't face problems in their married lives. Instead of talking it out, working hard towards making it successful, Avinash thought the spark in this marriage no longer existed, so he took the easy and disgusting way out, had affair with the first available person who gave him a little support during tough times.

How could he sleep with Tanvi when he was married with two kids waiting for him every moment for his return?

Whenever I hear about people having affairs outside marriage, I always wonder if lust is so powerful that it makes one forget basic human qualities.

On the other hand my respect and admiration for Sofia only increased hundred folds. She had the big heart of forgiving Avinash even though she knew he had sinned against her and her kids. (I do not want to say their kids, because if Avinash felt it was their kids, he would never have abandoned them like this).

Coming to Sofia's concerns about Arnav withdrawing into a shell and his and Khushi's marriage going through a similar situation like hers, she should be proud that she has made her son a better human being than her husband.

Arnav will never turn his back on his loved ones, he will always stand and face the problems like a man and not take short cuts like assholes.

Sorry for the foul language but I feel the difference between noble men and assholes are determined by the actions one takes during tough times.

And Jigs, thank you for this early update.

And finally a big congratulations on reaching thread 5. May this story have more and more threads to come.

Congratulation for the new thread.

Where do I start?

The Guy and his nerve, or Anjali's two face?

Does he know the meaning of forgiveness? I doubt...was he for real?
When I was reading father-son conversation, I was boiling... Poor me, it was about 2am. And I badly wanted to go out for a long drive to sooth myself? This shows the power and magnitude of your words...

What he did to them, was beyond repair, he left them with nothing, and on top of that he was comforting his nerves with another women.

I do understand, his reasons for falling that women, but, abandoning his family to stave, and sending divorce papers through post to his so called "loved wife" is beyond acceptable. He is a total coward in every single way...people have flings and find comfort with other women, when they try to get over grief. The moment he realized, he was in love with that women, he should have told Sofia.. And he should have tried harder to offer financial support and be part of their life in any way possible. This shows the selfishness of that man, he was happily ok to let his family starve while he enjoys with his new love.
Wow, what a way to punish oneself, deciding not to have kids anymore. He wasn't fit for a father, lucky that he did bring another human being. He wanted to justify his behavior by that... Good luck with his punishment.

I was really happy when you let Arnav put Anjali's words in her mouth.
I can't buy Anjali's excuse, trying to fulfill her mom's wish...what a lamed way do it, she should have tried to explain it first before trying to make decision for Arnav.

And She should have done with the help of Khushi. She knows, if there is anyone who can put some sense into Arnav, that would be Khushi. and why did she verbally slapped Khushi?
The person who was there for her like a mother...through thick and thin...
I know, you have tried very hard to convince us that Anjali's character is good and she is just trying to fulfill her mother's last wish. But, the approach she took destroyed her character. For me, She is two faced, selfish person, just like her dad. I don't think I 'll ever put her back on my good books. Please don't get me wrong, this is just my perception.

Blood it thicker and anything, so I know Arvan will forgive Anjali...because he loves her more than anything and anyone in this world...
I wish you would let Arnav and Khushi go out somewhere alone. They need lone time, away from all this dramas...they need to deal their problems without any interference, by themselves.

You gave us hope, letting Arnav frustrations and grief out is a sign for good news...So, I can assume a "Pari" is not too far away. At Least you gave me some piece...
