In the last chapter you wrote of a husband and wife taking turns to be strong for each other. And how wonderfully you continue bringing that out as you show Khushi standing steadfast for and with her Arnav. Able to look beyond the words and understand where they're coming from. I loved how she was able to give Arnav the space to tell her himself what made him snap ar Sid. His chota sa muh :( But is that kid adorable or what?! He couldn't see his Zio hungry! And is his Zio adorable or what as well?! An unequivocal apology given unhesitatingly.

The Arnav Anjali conversation left me stunned. Sharp painful words, albeit done with the best of intentions, prodding a painful wound leaving with it collateral damage. Khushi's fortitude in having the compassion to wipe Anjali's tears before going after her husband was laudable. An older sister's instinct protecting her younger sister always. In fact, I love the way Khushi is just there at her husband's side. At every point.

The more I read of Sofia the more I love her. Her warmth, her graciousness, her infinite kindness, her desire and ability to put her children's happiness above her own and above all her sense of self respect. We all have to take life's knocks and continue living, but to move on with determination and without rancour is an admirable trait. And it doesn't matter how old you get, a Mum is a Mum. That belief and hope that she'll make it alright is always there within us, isn't it? A mother's lap always leaves us cocooned in serenity. Arnav was just so endearing here in his hesitant nervousness.

Jigs you have left me in tears reading of Arnav's brittle facade shattering at his mother's grave. You've given voice to each emotion he's going through in so poignant a manner. The image of both of them holding each other through their grief is deeply evocative. This sharing of their deepest fears will hopefully prove to be cathartic for them eventually. The delicacy with which you've shown them breaking down is beautiful. So so well written. The build up to it, the details you add, all an absolute pleasure to read.

Sigh and now for the father - son showdown. But right now you take a bow my darling. This was simply brilliant. ❤️

Arnav's pain is absolutely heartbreaking in this chapter. I wanted nothing more than to do what Khushi did- scoop him up in a hug and try to soak that pain away. I had tears in my eyes while I was reading, from when he touches her name on the gravestone to his anguished sobs that reach the emptiness in his heart.

You can sense it right from his confrontation with Anjali about their father, the depth to which this has affected him. Her desperation combined with his furious refusal to see his father is such a combustible combination, and their anger just floods out. Throughout this chapter, you can see the impact of Avinash on Arnav- even though he wants to believe Avinash had no part in shaping him, he has. And I would even argue that he has shaped Arnav for the better- because of him, Arnav knows what he doesn't want to be.

Sofia reminds me of someone we both know- her warmth never fails to shine through the darkness, and her absence is so poignantly felt. That flashback was perfect. All of the emotions just came together so well, and you can see how much he means to her, as well as how much she means to him. You wove together the excitement of his proposal to Khushi and his desire for his mother's approval, the apprehension that her parents don't approve and his resistance to reaching out to his father so well- and through it all, you know that no matter what, Sofia will be there as his support. And in her absence, he has missed exactly that- the support of a mother, with no conditions- just knowing that it's there.

But at the same time... you see that realization when he breaks down. Although she isn't there physically, she will always be present for him. He isn't alone in this world- he has his Khushi, and he has his mother, watching over him through the light of the candle or the stars. All he has to do is remember that she is there for him, hamesha. Just like his Khushi will be.

Love always,
Your Choti.

P.S.: YOU SUCK FOR THAT CLIFFHANGER. Damn Avinash Raizada.

I'm here as well..
*************************

Is it me or each chapter is getting harder and harder to read? Thank you for treating us to the true meaning of "No pain, no gain"😊.

After the last chapter, I was already mentally prepared for the father and son face off. But, I did not realize that it was more like "naam hee kaafi hai" situation.

It was a bit interesting to see Arnav being the kid with the phone call and Sid being the adult at the breakfast table. Sid's words might have reminded him of Ma but, not for nothing they say, genes skip a generation😃.

Maybe I missed all the earlier clues but this chapter confirmed how emotional Arnav is and how attached Arnav can be. I don't think I have to mention how angry he can get. I guess all that is what makes Khushi a perfect pairing for him. She is someone who can handle his broken glass pieces or his rolling tears or his temper outbursts and you so rightly said, gives him that sense of calmness by just being in the vicinity.

The Anjali/Arnav confrontation was a bit unexpected though. Is there something more to the story than what we are missing? Or is it just the longing that Anjali has, to make her family complete? She is a grown up little sister now and I do see and understand some of her point of view too. Now that the cat is out of the bag, I am eager to see if you are going to make it meow or roar😉.

I really enjoyed the way you captured the grieving portion of the chapter. From divorce to daughter to dad, he did have a lot on his hands to handle. For conditions like these, sometimes the cure is not found in the drops of medicine you take, but it is found in the drops of held up tears that you roll out until they run out dry. It may be the much needed closure he was waiting for and I am hoping for.

The next chapter is already setup well for more revelations. So I am excited and eager for some surprises from Avinash. It is kind of funny where Khushi thought what a day the earlier day at the beach was. Just wanted to know what she would think of what a day this chapter is😉.

My 10,000th post dedicated to Jigs and her story.😊
**************************************************************************************************

Jigs, what a wonderful update this was. 👏

This update was all about Arnav and his pain and emotions for me.

I just could not stop myself today from comparing him to his father.

If Avinash mercilessly left his wife and children for another woman, Arnav always stood by his family be it his mom or sister or wife or even his nephew.

How did Anjali even forgive her so called father? The man who suddenly left his wife and kids for another woman, did not turn back and see whether they have even survived for two years and suddenly comes back saying he loves his kids.

Why did he return after that time? Why, did he think the honeymoon period with his second wife was done?

And whats more surprising was Anjali asking Arnav to forgive their dad.

And making his second wife being called Nani by Sidhu, even I felt hurt listening to that, then I cannot imagine what Arnav must have gone through listening to that.

I mean seriously Arnav has hated his dad for more than two decades, he has survived without his father's love and care and he is doing perfectly fine without him and now after all these years why is Avinash having this sudden desire to make peace with his son.

Next, the more I read the story, the more I am in love with Sofia.

Can anyone be so selfless and forgiving like her? She even asked Arnav to forgive his dad?

And the more I love Sofia, the more I hate Avinash. How could he leave such a noble soul and go away without turning back?

Now eagerly waiting for the confrontation between father and son.

Forgetting Avinash for now, there was so many little things in this update which just stole my heart away like the Rose planted next to Sofia's memorial or the inscription on her memorial or how Arnav had requested his mom to accompany him to convince Khushi's parents about their marriage. All these brought tears in my eyes and as usual your writing skills always amaze me. The way you give words to emotions is just awesome.

Jigs, thank you so much for giving us updates even with your busy schedules. You are truly a darling. 🤗

Jigs,

You have churned all human emotions so well in this update 👏👏. I can read happiness (smiles), sadness (tears) and everything in between .

I think Anjali wants to bridge the gap between father and son and make their family complete. But sometimes it is very hard to mend broken relationships in a life time. We have to leave them to fate.
Sid is such a cute kiddo and love his character. With your wonderful narration I can just imagine cute boy with those red cheeks, big fat tears and a adorable pout.
Arnav and Kushi are there for each other in their presence and absence. They both know how their other part will react in every situation and ready to offer support. I love this phenomenal understanding between them.
It is heartwarming to read glimpse of Arnav and his mom's bond and interaction. I got emotional seeing that Pari-blooming red rose right next to Sofia's resting place. Finally Arnav took the first baby step and started sharing his nightmares and pain with his soulmate. They will get through this.
Kabir Bedi so apt as Avinash Sing Raizada. I can't wait to witness the faceoff between father and son.
