Sometimes good intentions are not enough in life. It's a matter of perspective. I suspect that had Anjali not witnessed for herself the confrontation between her father and her brother, she'd have continued to harbour the desire to get them together, regardless of what her brother would have told her otherwise. She needed to see the depth of the resentment Arnav has for Avinash.
It takes courage to accept that your view may not be the best and to apologise. I'm happy she wanted to make amends straight away and not let things fester. Although, I think, given the bond the brother and sister share, lovingly fostered by Khushi, wouldn't have allowed for anything else.
I loved the way you wrote that scene. The spoken words, the underlying ones, the alluded ones, all so moving to read. Even the place you chose for them to talk blended beautifully with the conversation. My admiration for the way you've written Khushi grew even more here. A silent reassuring presence, but vocal when needed. I have to admit to shedding a few tears when Arnav held his arms out for his sister. "And how can one turn their back on the ones they loved" - this line just fills me with joy. Suffused as it is with promised determination and delicate avowal of their feelings.
Bella baby, I totally get you when you want to gobble up your Mamu. I'm proud of the way Arnav is dealing with his inner demons. He's realising that burying things away is not the answer. His question to Khushi about children and her honest answer shows just how far the two of them have come. Both able to express themselves openly without feeling the need to shield the other or themselves for that matter.
Out of the mouth of babes ... Sidhu's observation another moment of realisation for Arnav. But his immediate acceptance and promise to change things again showed the change in him. You've interspersed his realisation of the distance between them in so many little things in this chapter juxtaposing it very nicely with their returning closeness.
Haaye, I adore this lazily flirtatious Arnav. I loved the way he went across and unpinned her hair. Crab cakes and tortillas seemed redundant given the way they were devouring each other with their eyes ... and literally a while later ... 😳
Bradley Cooper ❤️ bas! Arnav and Khushi's text convo was hilarious. I could just picture this playing out 😆
That was a cute joke you played on us! I was just gearing up with a How dare he', when it turned out to be the sleek lines of a Ferrari! That quickly then turned into a vigorously nodding How could he not'! I agree with Khushi. He should get one. Drool heaven this! Arnav ❤️, the Berlinetta ❤️, Arnav in a Berlinetta "If there be heaven on earth, it's here, it's here, it's here."
And back to reality sweeping up to the Gupta mansion, hopefully the tenderness of the day spent together will fortify Khushi for the unpleasantness that seems to await. But with her Arnav right by her side giving her the support she needs.
Have a lovely holiday my darling. Although I'm missing you already :(
