Actress Indira Krishna recently visited the sacred Vindhyachal Temple, located in the Mirzapur district of Uttar Pradesh. The temple, dedicated to Goddess Vindhyavasini—a form of Goddess Durga—is a significant pilgrimage site. Indira, who was last seen as the antagonist Paani Bai in Durga – Atoot Prem Kahani, expressed her deep sense of peace and gratitude during the spiritual visit.

The actress is all set to return to television in a new role in the upcoming show Ganga Mai Ki Betiyan, a fiction drama produced by Sargun Mehta and Ravie Dubey. In addition to her television work, she will also be seen in the much-anticipated mythological film Ramayana, directed by Nitesh Tiwari. The film stars Ranbir Kapoor as Lord Ram and Sai Pallavi as Sita, with Indira playing the role of Queen Kaushalya.

Talking about her experience at Vindhyachal, Indira shared, “This temple was always on my list of important pilgrimage sites. I feel blessed to be here and connect with my inner self. Goddess Vindhyavasini, believed to have made this place her home after defeating the demon Mahishasura, represents the victory of good over evil and justice over injustice. Her story is a reminder of the immense strength women possess—not only as nurturers but also as powerful warriors.”

She further added, “Vindhyachal is one of the 51 Shakti Peethas, where parts of Goddess Sati are said to have fallen after her self-immolation. These sites are dedicated to Goddess Shakti. I have prayed for the well-being of my family, loved ones, and supporters—for peace, prosperity, and growth. Visiting during the auspicious Sawan month, dedicated to Lord Shiva, made it even more special.”

Indira was also deeply moved by the natural beauty of Vindhyachal. She spoke about how the scenic surroundings added to the spiritual experience. “The mountains here offer beautiful views and are home to a variety of plants and animals. The holy Ganges River flowing nearby makes this place even more divine. I was especially captivated by the breathtaking views from the Maa Ashtabhuja Devi Temple overlooking the river.”

Known for her performances in popular shows like Krishnaben Khakhrawala, Krishnadasi, Kahaani Ghar Ghar Kii, Yeh Hai Chahatein, and Saavi Ki Savaari, Indira Krishna continues to impress audiences with her versatility and depth, both on screen and in life.
