'Kuvar Arjun singh' ruk jao..nahi toh!" she yelled. But he didn't listen and jumped out of her hands towards some interesting thing he had spotted in the bushes. She eventually let him go and looked behind to see her best buddy, her childhood friend Kabeer was coming towards her with a juicy looking mango in his hands which was half eaten already. "Manu, yeh dekh mujhe kya mila hai" he proudly showed off his catch to her.
"isme kya badi baat hai? Aam nahi dekha kya kabhi pehle" she wasn't bothered.
"yeh koi aisa vaisa aam nahi hai'ise main un khadoos Rajaon ke bageeche se todkar laaya hoon" he licked it.
"toh mere liye bhi ek leke aata na'"Manu made a face.
"tujhe chahiye toh khud jaakar le aana..main nahi laa sakta" Kabeer said.
"Kabeer, meri khatir bhi nahi?'" she lowered her lips, scrunched her eyes.
"theek hai chal dono saath me chalte hain, par woh tera Kuvar Arjun singh?" "tu uski fikar mat kar, woh rahega yahan..ab chal jaldi kar" she cut in.
She was Manyata, the only daughter of the Royal priest, Raj purohit as everyone called him. Kabeer was her neighbor, her best friend from the time he was born one month after she had. They both were 20 years old. Both were studying Bachelor of Arts (in music and drama) in the nearest city. Manyata loved to dance and Kabeer loved to sing. The boy-girl divide never came between them as Manyata's Parents never restricted her at anything. Kabeer's father was away as an army officer and his mother had died a few months after he was born.
'Kuvar Arjun singh' followed them to the Mangrove and started circling her legs, in the hope that they will take him inside too.ok so that was the prologue..
