Preet, if they stop being even a bit risky and cater completely to the most conservative mindset, they may be reasonably expected to do well with both urban and rural. Majority-audience even without rural areas has been adoring serials we see in top 5 until now anyway.
Was just groaning that we as fans would presumably have even less clout. :(

I agree Leela, because it's very rare that I follow any show that's in top 5 and now, with rural ratings, the scope for our show will further decrease. We can expect changes in TRP's and I am not sure, if it will be in our favor because we know, people give preference to the same old drama's. It will be a challenge for writers and the whole team to deliver something that can gain interest from both urban and rural audience.
No yaar, if they please the rural audience, they will also please the urban audience.
Majority-audience is currently urban, but any cosmopolitan serials and channels anyway usually close down soon.
But with the addition of massive viewership from rural areas, serials and channels may perhaps have even less reason to cater to cosmopolitan tastes.
Swaragini is fine, all the top 5 serials are safe. If we got enough viewership to be appreciated by the urban majority-audience (which is mostly conservative), then maintaining the course and being even more considerate of those sensibilities would see us reasonably safe even with rural viewership also being weighed.
