"Ding Dong" "Ding Dong"
Sharon tried to open one eye to check the time in the alarm clock kept at her bed side.It was 5:30 and her sleep fogged brain couldn't come up with single guess as to who could be ringing the doorbell at this godforsaken hour.
Her dearest husband Swayam shekhawat, who had his arm around her waist was in deep sleep and did not look like even a bomb blast would wake him up.He had been working so hard these past few days!!!
Sharon blushed remembering last night. Swayam had returned pretty late and Sharon had waited up. A habit he strongly disapproved of and one Sharon didn't want to lose, she loved the calm togetherness of dinner time. It had been the cause of innumerable arguments between them. Sharon wouldn't have admitted it under oath but she liked being scolded by Swayam. It made her feel loved and cared for.
Last night had been different though.
Sharon having missed him badly throughout the day had gotten upset when Swayam scolded her for staying up so late.She had cleared the remnants of their meal and quietly moved to their room wiping one solitary tear off her cheek. A few seconds later she had felt Swayam's arms encircle her waist as he rested his forehead on her shoulder.
" I'm sorry" he mumbled.
She remained quiet.
" I love our dinner time together as much as you do Sharon but I can't help worrying about your health."
She turned around and he cupped her face.
" I know I over-reacted but you know that you are the only one who can bring the best and the worst out in me."
He rested his forehead on hers and whispered " please forgive me Sharon..please. it kills me to have you mad at me."
Sharon heard his voice crack and immediately looked up. She could see the unshed tears.
" hmm" she said pretending to be gravely disappointed.
" I was expecting something else when I felt your arms around me..but I guess this will have to do" she sighed pouting.
Swayam's frown turned into a smirk as he enquired " what were you expecting?"
Sharon blushed furiously and replied " a different form of apology ."
Swayam stepped closer and bending down whispered in her ear " what form of apology?"
Sharon felt his hot breath teasing her skin and lost all notion of coherent speech. All she could do was stare into his eyes and blush like an idiot as he captured her lips in a kiss full of dark promises.
Ding Dong
She came out of her blissful thoughts as she heard the rude jangling of the door bell again. She got up to open the door still smiling.
"Kriyaa"
"Sharooonnn"
Kriya hugged Sharon so suddenly and so hard that a half asleep Sharon almost tumbled to the floor before she could balance herself!
Sharon couldn't believe she was seeing her best friend at her door step..
"Kriya ..you' here..when did you arrive from US and why didn't you inform us ? and how did .. '. '" . Kriya indicated her to shut up and pushed her aside to enter the house !! She looked tensed which didn't go unnoticed by Sharon..
"wait let me wake swayam" said Sharon and was about to leave to her room when Kriya stopped " no" Sharon "why" kriya " because I need to talk to you".
Kriya and Sharon sat on the couch with two mugs of coffee!!
Sharon was worried but didn't want to show it and said , " ab bata what is the issue and why don't you want me to wake up swayam your brother??" "Sharon" ..that's the best part about your best friend marrying your brother , you can always avoid calling her babhi and use the name instead' "I I love someone" .
" what ..who is he and why didn't you tell me all these months" Sharon asked almost choking on her coffee
" he was my friend's friend circle , we met at a party and it just happened .Neither of us knew when we fell in love " said Kriya trying hard to hide her blush.
Sharon snorted loudly but quickly sobered down.. "Ok fine ..who is he "
Kriya worried started studying the floor hard as if it was going to tell her the answer to Sharon's question
"Kriya" Sharon prompted
" Rey" 'she replied so softly that Sharon almost missed it.
" Rey ..Rey .eerr? " Rey as in Reyansh Singhania ,Pratap Singhania ka beta" .. Sharon choked "WHAT ??" she shouted
"shhh" Kriya indicated holding finger front of her mouth.
" How can you love your brother's enemie's son ?? were you out of your mind ..I mean you know everything..but u still " She ran out of words.
Shekhawat and Singhania's had always been business rivals but things turned really ugly after the Singhanias cheated to acquire a project which resulted in the Shekhawats going bankrupt. Swayam had to build everything from scratch.Thus their enmity had reached new heights. This thought itself made Sharon shiver ..
"Sharon when we met we didn't know that we were kids of business rivals. We moved in with similar set of friends. We became close friends . We ourselves didn't realize when this feeling changed to love .. I wanted to share with you this over the phone but was waiting for the right time. Recently I found this all, Sharon, please help us ..please" Kriya pleaded.
Sharon was numb,she couldn't say anything so Kriya shook her hard.
Sharon jerked out of her shock and asked with a tense frown creasing her forehead
" what ..what will tell swayam?"
" Sharon you are my best friend,we have been friends from college , I helped swayam to pataofy you too..so tujhe by default help karni padegi"
"par Swayam" Sharon stuttered worried.
" I know you will manage ..has he ever said no to you?aaj bhi Majnu hai woh" she smirked elbowing Sharon and winking.Sharon gave a worried smile.
"Sharon Sharon " .. Swayam came down looking for his Sharon when his eyes fell on Kriya. He was surprised ,happy and worried at the same time to see his sister at his home while according to him she must be working somewhere in US .
"Kriya Tum ..are you fine .sab kuch teek hai na ..koi problem to nahi ..tumne inform kyun nahi kiya ki tum aa rahi ho!! Airport aa jata pick karne , aur yeh surprise karne ka idea kaise aaya ??" Swayam fired all his questions at Kriya in single breath '
" bas unhi aagayi and there is no problem" she replied tightly hugging him. He hugged her back , though not completely satisfied with her answer and looked at Sharon smiling who returned his smile but suddenly his smile dimmed and Sharon knew he had seen the tension in her eyes!! That was the problem for Sharon, Swayam could always read her eyes and she could not hide anything from him !!!She sent up a quick prayer and turned towards the duo with a bigger and hopefully brighter smile.
