Okay so Sharon has not contacted Mr Singhania yet and now there is Shivam in the track too...hah I don't like being in suspense I like too keep in suspense none the less looking forward to the next updates :P

That stupid Shivam had to call at the exact moment I knew u would not let Swayam find out so soon :P but cant wait for his reaction.

Now that Shivam's name has been mentioned I cant help but think he would do something bad :P and then their is Rey's father too damn poor Sharon she should tell him soon as swayam said miss-communication can lead to big misunderstandings.

Chapter 4:

Sharon loved rains, she always had, she loved it more when it rained out of season. Back in college, the onset of rains had always filled her with equal amounts of joy and frustration. The latter induced by the image she had created for herself, she was the DIVA and gradually that image had taken over her identity till she had forgotten how to enjoy the simple pleasures of life. Her heart had wanted to dance on the rhythm of the rain pounding on the street, she had imagined herself letting go and dancing, free as a bird, uninhibited as a child... but she had never done it...her mind did not allow it. The walls had proven too tough to break till Swayam came along. Swayam made her break those barriers and have fun. The first time she had danced in the rain was before Footloose when Swayam desperately wanted to drop her home but she refused. It was just a light drizzle and before she realized it they were dancing. After that she never stopped, the dam had broken and she would have been damned to allow it back up again. She danced whenever it rained, with Swayam when he was around or with his thoughts when he was not.

But not anymore. That rainy night had changed everything. She hated rains now with all the passion with which she had once loved it. She knew rain was not the reason for what happened but that didn't mean she would not blame it. She would blame each and everything, the night, the rain, the barking dog. She hated everything now!

A thunder brought Sharon back to her senses. She cursed the rain which had still not stopped. Why wouldn't it just go away!!! Why was it still pouring even after she lost everything. Was the universe crying along with her or was it making fun of her, reminding her of what she had and what she lost? Taunting her with happy memories that just wouldn't fade. Was the universe so incredibly cruel that it would mock her after stealing everything from her, everything that she had cherished, that she had loved, that she had once been too afraid to ask for and later been too afraid to lose...everything!

A sharp kick in her tummy reminded her that that was not quite true. She ran her hands through her wavy hair, sighing. Her eyes clouded over as yet another memory flashed in them. She had once wanted to go for poker straight hair, it had been the rage and Sharon the Diva had to stay trendy but Swayam, uncharacteristically and unexpectedly had put his foot down. He had been dead against it, he loved her wavy -bouncy hair. It was the only thing Swayam had stopped her from doing.

Another clap of thunder jerked her back to the present. She tucked an annoying strand of hair behind her ears, mad at herself for yet again letting all those memories loose. As her finger ran over her ear, she shivered... for a fraction of a second she had felt him, his touch, his warm finger caressing her ear, tucking that strand back like he had done countless times. He had once told her that his fingers had been itching to push her hair out of her beautiful face and feel her soft skin ever since he had laid eyes on her.

She was standing near the window gazing into nothing. A small voice in her head was shouting at her to shut the window, pull the blinds and block it all out. But she didn't listen to it. She wanted to.. but she couldn't. Almost as if she was addicted to the pain. The memories hurt and she hated them but she needed them the way an addict needs her high even though she knows it will one day kill her. Her eyes had the lost the sparkle which she had once ruled the world with. Now they were always filled with tears. A few fat ones rolled down her cheeks. She wiped them off with the back of her hands. Her mind wandered back to that fateful day ...

Swayam was getting ready for the office. It was the day of the tender auction. She had been tense since a few days. He had kept asking her what was wrong but she hadn't known how to tell him or even what to tell him. She had been fighting a battle between mind and heart, right and wrong .. trust and distrust .After all the inner turmoil she had come to a conclusion. She entered the room and saw his eyes light up instantly. She hugged him from behind and wished him Good Luck hesitantly. He gave her a huge unadulterated smile.

That was the last time she had seen him smiling. Though she hadn't known it then, life, as she knew it had ended there.

Her eyes snapped open and the pain returned with a vengeance as the memory faded. She clutched her head as the pain became too much for her fragile body to hold. What if she had done the right thing, would things have been different she thought. At least she would not have been alone ! There were times when she thought of killing herself but she always shooed away the thought as she had to live for their dream.

She stood up and resumed her vigil by the window. She saw a couple enjoying the rain. Her mind drifted back to the first rain after their marriage.

"Swayam , lets go out ..it is the first rain of the season..just smell the earth" she chirped barely able to contain her excitement.

"Sharon , let me just finish this work, it is really important you know"

"All your work is important toh isme kaunsi nayi baat hai" she said pouting.

"hmmm"

"Fine , if you don't want to come, stay inside. I am going out . I can't let this day pass, tum chipke raho apne laptop se "

He only smiled in response annoying her further. She stalked off. She was thinking of all the times when he had moved mountains to spend just an hour with her and wondering what changed. He loved her, she knew, she just wished that his work and professional rivalry had not taken over his personal life. She sighed feeling very sorry for herself when she felt a hard pull on her arm. She turned around as she bumped into a hard masculine chest. She raised her head to look at him, her eyes widened and a smile formed on her lips. He bent down on one knee and asked for a dance. She obliged happily and danced like never before.

A sharp flash of lightening brought Sharon back from the past. She saw her hand outside the window, outstretched, her palm facing forwards as if she had been trying to catch the laughing, dancing couple from her memory. She snapped it back and clenched her fist frustrated. Why couldn't she just forget him! All these five months there had not been a single moment when she did not remember him. Every word, every gesture, everything and anything she did, heard or said reminded her of him. The harder she tried to forget, the sharper his image became!!!

From past 5 months she had been single handedly supporting herself. THE Sharon Rai Prakash who had gone through life with customized Titanium cards, now had to keep an account for every penny spent. She, who had been surrounded by loving and supportive people always was now all alone. She had learnt a lot of really hard lessons in these months and they had changed her. The old DIVA Sharon was lost, maybe dead, under the rubble of her life.

She clawed at her throat as the memories suffocated her. This wasn't healthy, she knew. She wanted to escape the prison of her past and step into her new life. She thought to divert her mind and knew only two things could do it , dance and music. Since she couldn't dance she switched on the radio hoping the songs and the idle RJ chatter would block out the ghosts.

"Hum hain rahhi pyar ke hum se kuch na boliye

Jo bhi pyaar se mila hum usi ke ho liye"

Her lips curved into a smile as she heard Kishore Kumar's voice croon the evergreen melody. This song had such a special place in her heart. The food fight and their dance amid the chaos flashed before her eyes. It was short impromptu dance. She had wondered how could he be so cool in an extremely difficult situation. It had awed her as much as it had angered her since she seemed to have forgotten the meaning of that word. It hadn't seemed fair that he could be so calm while she felt the blowing the roof off with her screams. She remembered how he had expressed a desire to see her in his kitchen and how ecstatic he had been when that had finally happened. Her smile widened... then realization hit her. She slapped her forehead and got frustrated again. Why is it so hard? She questioned herself.

Yes, she couldn't forget him , there was a part of him growing inside her. The whole and sole reason for her being alive. This was their dream, a dream they had dreamt together and wished for together on lazy Sunday afternoons. Had it not been for this tiny life nestled in her womb, she would have ended her wretched life long back. She could not imagine living without Swayam. But she had to learn to do it, she thought as she caressed her bump and a small happy tear came rolling down.

They had wanted to start a family. Swayam had always wanted to be a dad , he had craved for a beautiful daughter , though he had magnanimously agreed to adjust even if it was a son. Sharon's medical complication made things difficult but Swayam never complained. She always knew how badly he wanted a kid but after the doctor told them about her condition he neither raised the issue nor did he let Sharon speak . He would have been over the moon if he knew now, she thought.

She got tired of standing near the window . She walked away and sat down on her bed. She looked at her swollen feet. She wanted to soak them in warm water to sooth them, but she didn't have anyone to help her or take care of her. Had he been here he would have definitely taken care of her. He would not have let her stand let alone walk. She caressed her growing bump and whispered-

"Do you know how happy your Papa would have been if he knew about you? He would have pampered you ... he would have talked to you... he would not have let me work at all..." she chuckled and continued " I know I am keeping you away from him and his love..He would have been the best dad in the world. I so wish he were here with us during this time.. I wish he could feel you when you kick .. see your grow ...by now he would have read all the books on pregnancy ever written " a tear fell on her bump. " I so wish that this is a nightmare. So wish ..." she started sobbing, the baby kicked harder as if sharing its mother's agony. She rubbed soothing circles over her bump and with tears streaming down her face and his image in her eyes, she went to sleep..
