Gaurav Khanna shares why his mother was against him joining 'Khatron Ke Khiladi 15

Colors’ popular stunt-based reality show Khatron Ke Khiladi is all set to return with its 15th season, promising more action, dangerous stunts, and intense challenges for viewers. Known for pushing contestants beyond their limits, the show once again heads to Cape Town, where celebrities will face some of their biggest fears while competing in physically and mentally demanding tasks.

Among the contestants joining this season is Bigg Boss 19 winner Gaurav Khanna, who is now preparing for an entirely different kind of challenge. While audiences are excited to see him in the adventurous reality show, Gaurav recently revealed that convincing his mother to support his decision was not easy at all.

The actor shared that his mother was deeply worried after learning about his participation in Khatron Ke Khiladi. According to Gaurav, she had already gone through an emotional journey while watching him inside the Bigg Boss house, and the thought of seeing him perform dangerous stunts made her even more anxious.

Gaurav Khanna Reveals His Mother Was Extremely Worried

Talking about his mother’s reaction, Gaurav explained that she found it difficult to accept his decision initially because she was concerned about both his safety and the intense pressure contestants face on the show.

Gaurav shared, “My mother was very worried when she found out I’m doing Khatron Ke Khiladi. During Bigg Boss, whenever things got emotionally intense inside the house, she would get stressed watching everything from outside.”

The actor revealed that there were moments during Bigg Boss when his mother became extremely emotional while watching him deal with pressure inside the house. Seeing him emotionally affected on television was difficult for her, and because of that, she was even more scared about Khatron Ke Khiladi, which involves physical challenges as well.

He further said, “There were moments when she would start hyperventilating while watching me under pressure on the show. For her, Khatron Ke Khiladi felt even tougher because this isn’t just mental pressure; it’s physical as well.”

Gaurav admitted that his mother’s biggest concern was his safety. She continuously questioned him about the type of stunts they would be performing and wanted reassurance that proper precautions would be taken during filming.

She Kept Telling Me Not To Do The Show”

According to Gaurav, his mother repeatedly tried convincing him not to participate in the reality show during the initial days. However, he eventually managed to calm her fears by explaining how professionally the entire production is handled.

He said, “Her biggest concern was safety. She kept asking me what kind of stunts we’ll be doing, how everything works, and whether it’s all safe there. For the first few days, she kept telling me not to do the show.”

The actor added that he reassured his mother that the production team takes every possible safety measure while conducting the stunts. He explained to her that trained professionals are present during every task and contestants are guided carefully throughout the process.

Gaurav also reflected on how natural such fears are for any parent. He mentioned that for mothers especially, watching their children enter a risky and unpredictable environment is never easy.

“I had to reassure her that there’s a proper team handling everything and that every precaution is taken. I think for any mother, watching her child step into something so unpredictable is never easy,” he shared.

Even though his mother is still worried about him, Gaurav revealed that she has slowly started accepting his decision. In fact, she is now lovingly preparing for his journey by packing his favourite snacks before he leaves for Cape Town.

Ending the conversation on a heartwarming note, Gaurav said, “She’s still worried, though she’s mildly convinced as she is packing all my favourite snacks – besan ke laddu being one of them.”
