Hey guys, this is going to be a short story exploring the "what if" scenario if Kesar never left for hostel and did not discover Dushy's secret for a while, his growing attraction for Gulaal and Gulaal's handling of the situation and ofcourse the confrontation after the secret finally comes out...I am not going to re-write the entire journey just some specific scenarios that will be altered to how I would perceive it but the goal still remains same in IT term this is called variable analysis throwing different information at a situation while keeping the end objective in mind...Please let me know if you guys will be interested in reading it...

Dedicated to Jzee😊

---------------------

Clock stuck 11.00pm increasing Gulaal's anxiety manifold, all her anger from the afternoon having read a note from Kesar's School Headmaster already thing of past, Worried and fearful about his whereabouts at this late hour, she decided to go and look out for him, overruling MB's order forbidding the same...

Having searched all the known hideouts, her heartbeats were rising steadily with each failure, It was unlike Kesar not to come and seek answers to his questions, in all of last two years of knowing him this was the first time where he had decided to keep what happened in the school to himself, "Kaha ho tum Kesar, Hey bhagwaan mere Kesar ki raksha karna, main tumhare har sawal ka jawab dene ke tayar hu Kesar bus ghar wapas aa jao jaldi se"

Knowing Gulaal will not take kindly to his skirmish in the school and all his questions will meet the same fate as his past queries, he was hell bent on buying time away to reflect on all those inner turmoil that he had been experiencing off late which started from innocent remark from his classmate about having a beautiful wife awaiting anxiously his return from school, what did he really mean, and why did that other fellow smiled as if there was more to this remark and why did MB wanted him to move into a separate room now, he always slept with Gulaal since the day Vasant bha left both of them and went away never to return, Why did Gulaal get angry at his remark to Talli about not walking into their room unannounced ,he has never been shy of changing clothes in front of Gulaal but that did not mean same rule applied to Talli, after all Gulaal was his wife, that's what everyone says right...

Aditi🤗The first part is simply wonderful. You picked the perfect scene to start off with.As I said earlier my fav part is the last paragraph. That is so,so good. It's like you got a peek into Golu's mind.I swear,I can see Ali act it out brilliantly.Even in the show his classmates had started teasing him regarding Gulaal and I am sure after a time this topic would have come up.I loved how Golu could not understand the meaning of his wife waiting for him-so cute and yet so poignant. It reminds me of Kesar's dialogue at the shaadi fiasco "mera bachpan chin gaya Gulaal...waqt se pehle hi mujhe pati bana diya gaya..."😭No one ever understood how deeply it would affect the psyche of a 12 year old kid,no one took time out and explain it to him.Everyone thought bacha hai and left it at that...Now how can you blame the kid when he grows up to have feelings for his own wife.

I am glad you are picking up this point and I am looking forward to the rest of it especially how he deals with his changing feelings for Gulaal and how does Talli figure in all of this?waiting eagerly for the next installment😃

Oh wow Aditi ⭐️..I want updates every hour RES👏

EDit

My Haseen Qatil⭐️...Tu sach mein mujhe jaan se maar degi yaar.👏

First of all huge huge thanks for starting this😳..I always wanted to write something on this. Thanks for making my dream come true.Who will be a better person than you who can delve into the mind of Kesar -a growing one and bring out the tiniest details about his changing feelings for Gulaal.

Aditi I agree with Mini...Kesar's statement was such a poignant one -"Mera bachpan chin gaya Gulaal.."

Yes!! A 12 year old boy just matures overnight into a pati. This theme is so so gripping as Teenage is not merely about growing physically but a lot more changes occurs psychologically. No wonder Teens is a very tender age..which lays the foundation of your future.I am so desperately looking forward to the updates from now on...Coz I just can't wait anymore for the little details from you..My huge hugswa to you..🤗

Please update pretty soon😍

Aditi 🤗
where was I...res 😃

Edit:

Aditi 🤗...this is an amazing concept...

The way u started the first para...just wow...the questions he always have due to the way every one talk to him abt his rishtha with gulaal...his confusion abt every thing related to the relation they share except that he likes the naming tag they share...its this phase when gulaal stopped explaining him anything abt their relation...if she ever tried to let him knew then it would have never lead him to this confusion...2 years he never got those answers n so now he is not even asking her as his previous experience say that its no use in asking her abt this as she will never give any answers...kesar is missing n now she wants to talk to him abt this...typical gulaal...
The last para is my favorite 😳...the changes that he is facing now...whether mb wanting him to change his room, gulaal not liking him asking talli to be formal while entering their room, his comfort with gulaal n not the same with talli...n n n his final declaration thinking gulaal as his wife considering every one's words abt their relation...

Excellent concept Aditi 👏...I am just loving the way u started it...I am looking forward to read the next update 😍...well I know we both r busy with lots of work these days...but u can try to update the chapter n I can try to comment on the update respectively 😉...your IT obsession...u r discussing IT logic here 😆...your love for IT is unbelievable!!!

Aditi - May I begin with how delighted I am you have given this a shot?! Really!!! Gulaal may have ended too soon, but it has left behind a rich legacy of a plot that can be alter explored in so many ways - and there are so many people on this forum, who do it exceedingly well - you being one =)

I'm here from my phone and want to leave a longer comment - so reserved for that - just for the moment, that is the kind of start I'd expect from you, coming for something tentative but very potential! All geared up for this short story, Aditi style! *hugs* for the dedication *beams and grins goofy*

Aditi..🤗I always wanted to read an SS from u of Gulsar and esp from Kesar's POV...and when I came back from a short break,..this was really a surprise for me.😳..above all the concept and the instant from the show u chose for this really amazed me..I am so glad yaar,,really I am not getting the words..this particular concept needed more exploration than what we saw in the show..they gave it a conclusion by Kesar's out burst in the mandap..there was no any further discussion...it still remained as something which only bothered Kesar...in fact no one dared to speak about it to Kesar..
Aditi u are doing an excellent job dear👏...I am waiting for the update😊

Okay, back again - sorry MM got me carried away yesterday, too much, to come back and comment well - but agayi ab main 😃

For starters, I love the point you've picked up to start this what if from - there's still a few of those interesting instances to follow here on (within chronology of the show) where the whole Gulaal is Kesar's wife gets thrown at Kesar at odd times in odd ways that he has little experience to be comprehending of! What's interesting is also, the intrigue and unrest this causes in him - because what Gulaal and him have always had up to this point is very natural and intuitive, and very special at once! The fact that Kesar never really needed to name his bond with Gulaal stands out starkly at this point, where the relevance of names is anyway lost upon him, all the more so between Gulaal and him - because upto this point, it's never really been "talked about" beyond light jokes from all of the family about Kesar's taking to Gulaal...

And the way this entire "name the bond" thing plays with his mind, especially matters at this age. When he can't wrap the difference around his mind, yet it tricks his mind too much to not dwell on it! Because when you think of it, Gulaal was always doing all those things out of the way for Kesar - and Kesar was accepting them like they were his first right - but now he's countered with simple things like "wife waiting at home for you" - even though Gulaal always had a habit of waiting on him - and interestingly, even as Kesar finds himself unsure of why that is different, he does pick up on the "jargon" of the term that makes all the difference - his wife...

A great start Aditi - weekend updates are just fine, but please do that regularly - will look forward to each weeks offering!

xx

Hi Aditi,

You are presenting a very interesting scenario here. This is something every one of us who were introduced to this story did ponder over at least once.

To be honest, I started watching the show only because Neil Bhatt played Kesar. I had read about the story of Gulaal and her water finding capabilities and then I did read the article that Gulaal would marry Kesar. It did not interest me then. Though I started watching it for Neil, it took my friend a good one month to convince me to give the story a try with Kesar Gulaal as a couple. No... I did not support Kesar and Talli even once. I did find the story very very interesting the way it unfolded and of course the portrayal and the narration was convincing. At the end you realize that no one is at fault, neither Kesar nor Gulaal. Fiction always gives you the freedom to empathise with such strong-willed characters.

Personally speaking, I am still unsure how I may react if I heard about such a happening among people I know. It was never about the age. It was never against the custom DV. In fact it is nice to know about the practices in different communities and remarriage of a widow is indeed a noble thought. Forced marriages should never be supported whatever in the name of wealth or out of evil intentions like that of Dushyant . Such customs should be supported if it is an alliance between two consenting adults.

I like the way Gulaal was shown to have taken a decision in the end based not on any sort of attraction from her end for Kesar in the first place. But she did realize how much responsibility Kesar had taken upon himself to support her by giving a new dimension to his selfless love, how fully well he had fulfilled the duties of a husband in her life or rather realized the importance of this marriage to him though it happened under unforeseen circumstances.

The "what if" scenario is indeed a point to contemplate on. What if, they were not separated, what if Gulaal had continued to be the patron/mentor to Kesar who was entering his adolescence, the same doubts which compelled Motabha to take a decision to keep them apart.

Gulaal had argued with Motabha "usko meri zaroorat hai" which was definitely in her caretaker mode. What MB had a foresight about, Gulaal never saw it coming or was too confident about her authority on Kesar and her belief that she knew Kesar too well. I still remember that beautiful unspoken moment between MB and Gulaal when later Kesar announces about his love for his wife in front of the entire family.

Actually I was able to support Kesar and Gulaal as a couple in the absence of Vasant. I agree Gulaal is entitled to her second shot at happiness, a fulfilling one at that. The custom Deeyarvattu can be supported if it aims at widow remarriage with a guy who is willing to whole heartedly support her. The relationship is healthy as long as it is not between blood relatives. I always wonder the "What if" scenario if Vasant was alive. Would Kesar's inclination towards Gulaal be inappropriate? Kesar would remain the same Kesar who feels he has his "haq" over Gulaal and was also interested to know if he can marry the same girl as his brother. So "what if" Gulaal and Vasant were happily blissfully married and Kesar would still be the same Kesar always inclined toward Gulaal.

I am happy you have decided to give this scenario a try. What I have written above is just my personal opinion. In fact there were many times I have felt like commenting upon something, just to share my thoughts about it but I have decided against. From my experience on India Forums I have seen that either I end up hurting others sentiments just because I have put my thoughts/opinion in print or then it is others turn to convince me that I am wrong. Sometimes even I get confused.

Happy to have watched this show. I think I shall give credit to Neil Bhatt, if not I would have not watched this show.
Would love to see your narration:)
