So I actually read up the first part on my phone almost right after you posted it Aditi, but only just got around to completing the read, since I wasn't around most week courtesy Mommy's visit.
[And just on a side note, you were ABSOLUTELY not being unfair asking us to buck up and comment. I assure you at least on my part. Yes sometimes we write for ourselves, but your taking on this What if was definitely after the lot of us pressed you, and being singularly more responsible, my delays always make me feel guilty. But if there is anyway you can just take my word, I'm glad with every chapter you post, that you could be talked into writing this SS. Truly.]
And to the chapter now. So reread the whole thing in a go for upkeep of continuity. Turns out, there was such a contrast in moods - I could have done them as 2 chapters after all 😆
So part 1 was beautiful, like those classic GK scenes you seem to be getting better at with each chapter, or perhaps the fact that the basis and layers grow with progress of the track gives you all the more ground to raise the scenes - either way, I love how bring out their moments, always. Something remains timelessly constant, yet something continues to move further ahead each time. Kesar's monologue left not just Gulaal in a momentary trance. And that little BG to the jhumkaas just added so much more to the purpose. Kesar is such a package of contrasting emotions and traits - and you bring out his nuances wonderfully, the sensitivity, the wall like support, the good listener, and the good tell off - all in one. The way Gulaal can just get her little moment of breaking down and lightening up some of the weight she carries around on her heart through the days, and then g\o right back to chirpy and talkative with Kesar is vintage GK! They literally go through range of emotions within seconds of time, and so credibly!
Part 2 was obviously beginning of an end. About time too, that the whole Dushyant twist ammo gets thrown into this thick plot with stalemates and situations abounding! It's interesting to me, all the more at this point, that Kesar's stiffness around Dushyant has been something much more intuitive more than partly based on GD's equation, and that the whole Vasant murder history is only going to complicate it more, and is not in fact the inception of trouble between brothers. It's like looking at the very interesting complication the show gave us, in quite another way, and then seeing it go - something I look forward to eagerly, because Dushyant, putting aside my obvious bias for GK, was obviously the hilt of a character that could ever be made! If the writers excelled at something, it was the way they could bring int grey to white, and white to grey among the characters - the human fall outs esp for Kesar and Dushyant were true delight to watch - and Aditi, may I just say you've done complete justice so far?
