After College hours

Thursday came and went like a flash. Pia had the worst day ever keeping up a little lie about Kabir being her boyfriend. Pia didn't have to work hard at it. Kabir was always around her following her during recess and lunch breaks. He even invited her to see him play basket ball next week. Pia knew it was wrong to be with Kabir but Abhay stayed clear glaring at her from time to time. Abhay had a problem with anger management that Pia was certain of. Behind his playful nature he was an angry young man but Abhay bent his problems on Pia for some reason unknown to her. Pia knew he wanted her to stay away from him which was working a treat. NOT! After College was the toughest part when Abhay and T were wrapped around each other playing off a weird game Pia wasn't aware of. Pia was mild tempered but Abhay and T were getting to her. She felt like a volcano waiting to erupt. She bit her tongue when T was at her wicked best. T wanted to know more about how Kabir and she were faring as a couple. To her horror T was even giving out pointers on how to keep Kabir's interest with Abhay looking through Pia as if he were trying to read Pia without much luck. Pia wasn't giving anything away. It was easier to keep quiet than say anything but Pia knew she was due to blow with all this rage bottled up. T cosies up to Abhay like she was his blanket. Pia could feel her eyes well up. How could he? Abhay could see Pia go red but why he wasn't so sure of? Only a few more to go and she'd never see Abhay after College. That was a bonus.

T-So Pia U haven't mentioned anything on the Kabir front! Still keepin us in suspense huh? Take my advice and run with it. He chews girls out faster than he can chew.

Pia-Like i said before. None of your business T. Kabir and I are fine.

T-Well i was just giving U hints! For free mind U. U aren't exactly his type.

Pia-Types change! Now carry on painting.

Abhay-T leave her alone. We have better things to do than delve into Pia's love life after all Kabir was running low on a supply of hot girls. Let him have his fill with her. Pia needs all the experience she can get after all she is a novice at this right? Besides we got each other to keep ourselves busy with.

Pia glared back with anger-Yeah what he said!

T-So har far have U taken it Pia?

Silence.

T-Has he kissed U yet?

Silence. Pia felt herself blush a little. Abhay loved the colour on Pia. She was so human.

T-Have U both done the deed yet?

Abhay winced at T's questions she was really grilling Pia but he was curious. He knew Pia wasn't that kind of girl from the connection he'd made with her when he drank her blood but Kabir could've kissed her. The thought of Kabir's lips brushing with Pia was not something he needed to see. Abhay was starting to regret pairing Pia with Kabir. The college player with someone as innocent as Pia. She wasn't giving anything away. Pia remained mute throughout the whole hour which seemed to go on forever.

It was time to go home. Pia was expecting Abhay to give her a lift back like the other times. T had conveniently left her car at home as her driver dropped her off to College in the morning. Abhay was dropping her off. He offered Pia a lift home but luckily Kabir gave Pia a surprise visit with Misha and her sister Panchi was with her other half Danish. Abhay was seething inside. He was used to dropping Pia off instead of being pleased that Pia was taken care of he was livid. He grabbed onto the steering wheel so tight. Eyes looking away afar past the College gates. He saw Pia's face lighten up. She finally spoke more than a few simple words. It bothered Abhay that Pia preferred her own gang than his own company. Abhay struggled within himself. His own hypocrisy was right in front of him. Abhay wanted Pia to be with Kabir, to keep her distance from Abhay yet he could feel his own temper building up with Pia for doing exactly as he wanted her to do. Abhay was jealous of Kabir being able to spend time with Pia. For being human. He looked away agin and saw Pia walking towards Kabir's car. Kabir got out of the car to give Pia a little hug. She appeared to be in need of one.

Pia unintentially blurted the truth on how she felt to Kabir and Misha-I am so glad U guys came otherwise i would've had to be a spare wheel in Abhay's car with T. That girl doesn't know when to shut up. So many personal questions. It's so sickening to see Abhay and T's public display of affection man. They seriously need to get a room. I had trouble even being around them let alone say anything.

Misha jokes-Glad to be of service. Pizza time baby. It was my idea. Nothing like comfort food. Plus U both need a chaperone who knows what U two lovebirds will get up to? (Winks at them)I know bad joke yaar but it was worth the look on both your face.

Kabir-Hop in Pia and ignore the wild child she's had a few cokes and now she's up the wall. Danish is a head of us. U don't want to be in the same car as them trust me i should know.

Pia let Kabir go to take a quick look towards Abhay with T in the front seat applying lipstick. He was still there looking as glum as ever. Pia didn't even bother to say bye to Abhay. He wasn't worth the effort. However Pia's heart sank a little when T gave Abhay a little kiss on the cheek. Then he saw Pia directly in the eyes holding her frozen with his gaze. Abhay heard everything she'd said with his super hearing. Kabir hugging Pia even if it was just a hug bugged him. Abhay was hurt that Pia didn't want to be in the same room as him. That Pia was grossed out by T showing her affection for him in front of Pia. Part of him hoped that Pia would be jealous. He shook off that thought. He was annoyed Pia didn't once open her mouth to retaliate back at T or him. The thought of Pia keeping her and Kabir's relationship to herself was enough to make his mind run wild. Did they share the same affection as T was bestowing for show in front of Pia? He gave T a little kiss on her lips which Pia looked away from.

Kabir-PIA!PIA!

Pia-Sorry! I erm was elsewhere for a moment.

Misha-Come on babes before the Pizza parlour shuts down. I'm hungry. Lets go. Lets go people.

Kabir wanted Pia to sit in the front but Misha was already in it. She was determined to keep them apart. Kabir opened the back door of the car for Pia. She got in and Kabir took his place in the front seat. They drove off towards the parlour. Abhay dropped off T at her place and went to the Raichand Mansion to lick his wounds. He was trying a little too hard with Pia but his thoughts were clouded enough. He was stronger than this. Pia wasn't the first girl he was trying to steer clear from But she was the first human he had a real thing for. Abhay did a little meditation in the darkness of his own room. It didn't always work but it was better than sulking over the recent events with Pia. He delved deeper into nothingness in his mind trying to erase all thoughts one by one until there was silence. Serenity.

Abhay heard Haseena downstairs skulking about as usual. For a vampire she was one scary woman. He wasn't bothered by her presence as much as Chand's now that guy realled pi**ed him off in a big way. Trying to be the leader of their pack. Abhay had no time for either of them. They were sucky vampires. He had no respect for their weakness to humans. Haseena was such a bore. Always moaning about Human's being so hard to resist. Their blood. Their smell. Abhay had no problem getting over humans although initially it was hard at first but he managed to find a perfect balance until he met Pia of course. He wasn't about to air this in front of Haseena who would have disclosed this information to Chand. Then Chand would have to take drastic action against Pia. Abhay was going to protect Pia best he could from his own family. From himself because he had to save his soul. It was hard at times to remember everything he did i the past hurting too many people along the way but he had to save his soul from damnation. His family from damnation even if at times he hated them for what they represented. What he represented? Sometimes it would have been easier to let loose and shut his emotions off all of it. The pain wasn't so bad but Pia had opened the genie from its bottle. Great Abhay lost his concentration. Abhay tried again to get Pia out of his head. Haseena tapped on the door gently breaking his concentration again.

Abhay-What is it woman?

Haseena-I wanted a little chat with U Abhay!

Abhay-Come in then.

Haseena enters his room-U seem a little too quiet son. How are things at College? U seem to be meditating a lot lately.

Abhay-Like U care? All U want to do is chill in this cold thing U call home. Might as well air it to the whole world that we are freaks that are unsociable.

Haseena-That was uncalled for Abhay. U know how difficult it is for us?

Abhay sarcastically-I can see how hard it is never going out in public. I have it easy don't I looking like i'm 17 for eternity. Lifes just great isn't it having to study every 10 years in a new place while U guys do as U please.

Haseena-Well it wasn't me who did this? Something is on your mind i can feel the tension.

Abhay-I don't want to talk about it. Now just leave me alone. U know how i get when i'm angry.

Haseena-Fine. U can say what U want to me but Chand will want answers.

Abhay-I don't give a sh** what Chand wants. He doesn't own me. He's never around unless he wants something.

Haseena leaves Abhay in a thunderous mood. The woman was always trying to get into his business. She practically controlled his every activity at College with her minions giving her the low down. Haseena was into a military style operation. She could tell if Abhay meddled with her workers in any way. Her senses were super sensitive.

The pizza parlour

Misha, Tracker, Kabir, Danish and Panchi were having a whale of a time. They enjoyed their pizzas they'd ordered while Pia pretended to enjoy herself. Her mind was partially somewhere else. Pia noticed the amounts of Chilli Misha was consuming with her Margarita Pizza. No wonder Misha was always so hot tempered at times. Panchi had joked that Misha was born in the wrong household as non of them were into spicy food like Misha was. Pia looked over to Kabir he kept looking at her in a non friend kinda way. She felt bad for using Kabir as a way to keep Abhay at bay as all he ever did was put her down. He was getting to her. How was she supposed to enjoy herself when half the time her thoughts drifted off to that irritating spoilt rich brat. Pia wished she could fancy Kabir that way but no. It wasn't happening. Maybe she was wired wrong Pia thought to herself.

Panchi and Danish were loved up. He was holding her hand occasionally kissing her hands. Throughout the entire evening out he never left her side. Kabir often referred to Danish as Joru ka Ghulam. Pia was happy for Panchi. She was a nice girl with a good heart. She was always so helpful to people whether they needed it or not. Pia wasn't just thinking this because she was Misha's sister. For some reason Pia felt like she belonged with these girls. A bond she'd never had before. Misha was the one Pia drifted more towards. Her personality was not like no other. She was her own person and Pia admired that. It was a trait that drew her towards Misha in the first place. Ruhi or Tracker as Misha always referred her as was up to her usual on the look out for hot guys. Pia was amused by Tracker's non stop man hunt. The girl never gave up. Unfortunately for her guy's never seemed to warm up to her apart from Abhay. Why? All thoughts kept leading to Abhay. She was living breathing Abhay. She had to go see someone soon before her brain went to mush. After tomorrow Hopefully things would go to normal. Or as normal as they could be for her.

Misha concerned-U ok babes? U seem to be miles away again. U have a habit of doing this a lot.

Pia looks apologetically at Misha and the gang-Sorry. I don't know where my heads at. I think the paint fumes are getting to me. Not used to painting.

Kabir-Just think 1 more day and U will be free. No more Fumes.

Pia-U have a point. Lets just chill. I'm taking all this in. At the orphanage we never.......Sorry! I seem to be apologizing a lot lately.

Panchi sympathetically strokes Pia's arm-I've never really asked U any questions about how it was like there for U. I thought once U got to know us U would open up eventually.

Misha-Yeah tell us a little about that.

Pia-Nothing much to say apart from the Nuns were very nice like a surrogate mother. They were strict at times but loved all the children equally. Nobody really stayed there long depending on how many kids were being fostered. I had an ok time there. Kept myself to myself. Life in the Orphanage had some hard times which makes U either stronger or weaker. Mostly we spent more time on our won. Let's just say i've lead a boring life. Nothing much to say other than i am very ambitious and strive to make a mark on the world with my own merits my own hard work. I want to prove that i deserved The scholarship and will work my butt off. I am very boring aren't i?

Panchi-Boring No! I'd say U are an independent young woman with courage to face the world on your own. But with us U will never be alone Pia.

Misha-True babes. U are like the sister i never had. To beat Panchi i need another girl on my side.

Panchi-I heard that! U are like family. There's something about U i can't tell what it is that makes U so appealing to us girls.

Danish-What are U trying to say babes?

Panchi smacks Danish-Danish seriously U make this sound so wrong!

Kabir-U girls na. So senti over everything!

Misha-Speak for yourself lover boy or i will open my mouth about Yesterday?

Panchi-What happened?

Kabir-Leave it my mother! My reputations at stake!

Pia glares at Misha-Yeah leave it Mish...

Misha-Thats worth a few bribes i'd say right. Ice cream.

Kabir-Fine but U keep tour mouth shut.

Misha gives Kabir a huge smile-Get me what i want then!

Panchi-Ice cream and that too in this cold are U mad? Wait until it hits your waistline.

Misha-Talk about your own waistline sis because i don't care about putting on weight unlike all the bimbos. No offence Tracker.

FRIDAY

Pia had Misha drop her off to College. It was the end of the College week. Pia found College life quite exciting but her mind wavered too many times towards one guy she didn't want to even be around. After today she would stay away from Abhay. She didn't need this complication hanging around her. He wasn't even interested in her. He had several girls fawning all over him. He had the nerve to flaunt these girls in front of her. He was doing her head in. All Pia could think about was Abhay and all things revolving around him. As soon as her guard was down he was there again.

Tracker told them about how down Pia was to begin with but Kabir and Misha cheered her up.

Tracker-It was so cute U guys should have been there. Kabir is totally smitten by Pia. He worships the ground she walks on. Pia wasn't hungry yet Kabir fed Pia samples of different Pizza we ordered. Pia was very impressed i must say. I can't believe U dumped the guy T. He's perfect boyfriend material. Then again i guess you've upgraded to a better model. Anyway thats not all Kabir brought everyone a round of napolitan ice-cream. I'd say love is in the air. Kabir didn't once take his eyes off Pia. The gang all noticed this. I don't think Misha is too pleased with this development though. I think she has a crush on him then again Misha wasn't checking Kabir out or anything. Danish is a smooth operator giving Kabir tips on how to impress Pia. Then when we left the Pizzeria Pia seemed distressed U know like she didn't want to part from Kabir. I think theres fire on both sides U know. A real Love story in the making. Anyway thats the lowdown guy's. Abhay are we still up for going out later on like U promised me yesterday for getting back to U about Pia and Kabir?

Abhay disinterested-Fine we can hang out like i promised. Sheesh girl its almost like U can't get any other guy to go after U.

T-Oh Abhay really U are going to go out with her? Have U no standards? I mean Pia seriously keeping tabs on her and going out with Tracker?

Abhay sarcastically-Er no i'm going out with U aren't I?

T-U are such a joker sometimes Abhay.

Abhay-U are such a pain sometimes. Now stay away from my private affairs what i do is up to me. Who i date? Who i keep tabs on are all my decisions. U knew the deal when U and I started this game. This is just business not pleasure. I have no feelings for U capiche.

T-I get it jeez. U have told me off enough times. Someones cranky today?

Abhay-I don't have to answer to U or the deals off.

Abhay was fuming with rage. He could picture Pia and Kabir together holding hands and whispering sweet nothing to each other. It was his fault he paired Pia with Kabir. Pia was innocent and he gave her to the wolves literally. He knew Kabir's type. They were like him. Moving from one girl to another. Abhay knew he didn't deserve Pia but neither did Kabir. Abhay zoomed out of College with a new girl Dhiya who was checking him out earlier in the day. She was tasty. He was famished before but it was all good. The girl though felt lightheaded would be fine after an hour or so. His lunch done he came back in with Dhiya. Pia saw the girl was being dragged in by Abhay. She pitied the girl for her taste in men. Abhay was a ladies man but what choked her up was that she had some sick feeling for the creep as well. Oh how she tried to disguise her feelings by remaining mute but it wasn't enough. Pia's eyes met Abhays. They could feel themselves being pulled towards each other. Abhay could see fresh tears begin to form in Pia's eyes from a distance. Abhay didn't know what to do in that moment he forgot where he was while Pia did the same. It was just the two of them. It wasn't until Misha came along and dragged Pia out of the way. Abhay came back to reality. Breaks up and now for heavy work. He had practice tomorrow for his Karate sessions at the dojo. It was a while since he'd been practicing but his agility made it easy for him to do the most difficult moves. He had to go get some gear later on but he had his last quota of the punishment to complete. He'd have finished all of this sooner but with Pia and T's interference along with students eyeing him it was a little hard to use his powers forget about compelling them. Compulsion was often used as a last resort or an easy way out. Abhay preferred to use it only during feeding and when he was in trouble. Pia could see Misha was worried about where Pia's head was at. Pia seemed to e getting lost in a moments notice. Abhay was doing something to her emotionally. Whatever it was it hurt. Pia didn't like the guy not one bit but her confused mind has other plans it was messing with her big time. She knew Abhay didn't like her that was evident. He grossed her out with his attitude. Pia hated guys like that but why couldn't she convince her heart.

Misha-Pia i think U need to see somebody babes! A doctor or a psychologist? This is the umpteenth time you've dazed off day dreaming. Is there something bothering U? I'm not good at giving advice but i'm good at listening so long as i have my mouth shut.

Pia-It's nothing. Really i've just had a hectic week. U know and everything seems so complicated with Kabir, College life is hard U guy's like to party a lot while i'm a bit of a recluse U know i like my own space. Adjusting has taken a toll on me i suppose. I will admit that i'm beginning to scare myself now. Trust me i'm not into any of this day dreaming stuff. It only started from the moment i came here. Must be something in the air. Trust me Misha if i have a problem i will tell U.

Misha-Don't fret about Kabir he will get over this but U have been using him to steer a certain someone U were staring at before away haven't U?

Pia puts her hands up in the air surrendering-Yes! It's just Abhay's been getting in my face with T and some of his harem. They were pestering me so i just lied about it and said that Kabir and i are dating. It's made it easier to keep T off my back but now all she wants to know are details. I promise U Misha Kabir and I aren't really going out. He knows that but he doesn't know that i'm doing all of this. I am such a bad person.

Misha sympathises-Pia we are all under some peer pressure. Look at me i don't follow anyone but then theres T who will do anyone if it gets her noticed (Pia flinches at this remark because she didn't want to see Abhay with T or any other girl ever). Then U have the cool gang and then the mysterious prat who all the girls are swooning over Abhay Raichand. If U want i can help U keep the pretense up if only to see T's face. After all she was Kabir's ex-girlfriend and trust me babes i know how to wind her up.

Pia-So aren't mad?

Misha-We are best friends Yo nothing will get in the way of our friendship Pia nothing. T will pay for messing with my girl. She's just trying to fish for info. Compare what Kabir is doing with U and if he's showering U with the same tricks that he used on her. That girl is easy as they come.

Pia-What about Kabir?

Misha-Kabir will be fine once he learn that U are not available. He will give up eventually. But Kabir is a guy that will keep fighting until he see's the light. Don't worry about him. I'll be the kebab mein haddi between U two. He'll get the hint.

Pia give Misha a hug and cheers up a little bit. It was a relief to tell Misha about her lie. It was finally the end of College and the school bell rang. Pia headed staright for the yard. She kept telling herself that after today Abhay and she would part ways. The guy wouldn't bother her or invade her mind like yesterday she had imagined that Abhay was with her in a field filled with greenery and flowers just like she liked them. Abhay held her in his arems but then everything around them started to burn to ashes. Pia could see herself burning away while Abhay watched in pain. Pia shook the memory away. abhay was finishing up. T was doing the bottom are while Pia got a paint brush and started doing the finishing coat in silence.

Misha-Pia don't forget tomorrow Kabir and i will go pick U up for our movie night out. This time Pia i'm thinking of ordering a separate room for the two of U lovebirds. U guys were too much yesterday. Too feely for me to handle this time i am sitting out the way.

Misha drove off with Panchi. Misha filled Panchi on everything that Pia had told her. Panchi kept hurling abuse at T for causing problems for Pia. She felt sorry for Pia for having to spend time with Abhay who wasn't seen in good light with anyone. Panchi was aware of Abhay's reputation for being a player. She also knew that the guy was a genius which was astounding. Abhay never really paid attention to lectures other than mess about with his phone or just stare into empty spaces or stare out the competition. Plus they were growing numbers of girls sporting scarfs around their necks all claiming they were covering a hickey.

Panchi-He needs shooting. Stones being thrown at him. What does he think he is and now the guy is trying to mess with Pia. Is it a wonder the girls not been herself.

Misha-Thats why i've told her i'll help to cover up for her U know. Pretend that Kabir is her man. Don't tell Kabir that though he'd probablyscream for joy. Pia doesn't see him like that.

Panchi-I don't blame her. Kabir is a handful as it is. Pia will be fine Misha. I'm sure of it. We need to be there for her she has nobosy here.

Misha-She has us sis. Nobody will mess with us girls.

T was staring at Pia like she was an alien with horns. She couldn't believe that Pia was being so coy about Kabir. They were getting serious. T didn't care but she could see Abhay was in a dark mood already. T hated that Abhay could only ever think about Pia. That was all he was interested in. Yes he wouldn't talk about it directly but she could see the longing gazes both He and Pia passed each other be it in the hall way or in a yard filled with other students.

T-So U and Kabir are really on. I had doubts but Misha has reiterated what i wanted to know. That too so fast. Are U trying to break some record huh? I can't believe that Kabir. His hands all over U after he's touched this (Pointing at herself).

Pia-Can U just finish this off so we can go. I have plans.

T-I know what plans U have. U do realize that once Kabir gets what he wants he will dump U then you'll be another notch on his belt.

Pia-T i have no interests with who U hang out with but stay out of life. U have him to keep U busy and whoever U choose to be with is your choice not mine just butt out. Both of U stop staring at me like i've done something that U guys haven't already done.

Abhay could feel his mind filled with explicit images and swear words all under the sun. The thought of Kabir's grubby hands on Pia was something he was having difficulty to bear. He was thankful he didn't witness this because Kabir wouldn't be alive. Abhay had to do something and fast. Pia was messing up his plans his emotions his life. Everything was perfect until she entered the scene. He was torn inside out but he had to control his temper. Pia what do i do? I can't be with U and i can't be without U not if some other guy gets in the way.

Abhay-T just zip it. Let the scarlet do as she pleases U should be proud that another female has fallen from grace. This College is going down fast. Soon there will be no more competition. U have me don't U so why are U bothered by Kabir and her. Think about it she's fresh pickings after that old news.

Pia glared at Abhay. She wasn't going to dignify their comments with a response. Finally they'd finished. Pia was ecstatic. Task completed. no more T. No more Abhay which brought in mixed feelings. Abhay dropped off T first then Pia but not before getting some things off his chest. Pia was a little scared inside. She didn't trust herself at all. Emotions were something she had trouble having a grip on. Abhay sure knew how to mess with someones equilibrium. Pia never before felt this helpless other than her Mother passing away. Pia always prided herself with knowing who she was but today was a different story altogether. Everything meshed in her mind. Abhay wasn't the karoos Player at College when he was with her but a sweet kinda guy. This must be how he got all the girls. False reassurance then reel them in and chew them out.
