Alia Bhatt brings desi touch to Cannes 2026 with ivory saree, bindi and payal

At the Cannes Film Festival 2026, actor Alia Bhatt once again drew attention with her latest fashion appearance. Representing an international beauty brand at the event, Alia stepped out in an ivory outfit inspired by the flow of a saree while adding a modern touch to the overall silhouette. Soon after videos from the venue surfaced online, her look started trending across social media platforms.

The actor was seen walking towards the venue carrying an ivory umbrella that added a vintage cinema inspired element to the appearance. Her outfit featured a fitted corset style bodice with a soft drape attached to it, giving the look a saree inspired structure without following the traditional format completely. Alia later shared a video from Cannes on social media and captioned it, “feeling unapologetically filmy 🤍”.

Apart from attending red carpet events, Alia also represented India at the Bharat Pavilion during a session with filmmaker Ashutosh Gowariker. During the event, they unveiled the official poster and creative vision for the 57th International Film Festival of India. The launch of the India Film Guide was also announced during the session to promote India as a filming destination for global projects.

Speaking at the event, Alia said, “IFFI has always been a platform that celebrates the diversity of our stories.” She further added, “Being part of this unveiling is an honour, as we invite the world to experience the magic of Indian filmmaking in Goa this November.”

Meanwhile, reactions to her Cannes appearance continued to pour in online. Several users called the look “graceful” and “royal”, while others appreciated the blend of Indian styling with an international fashion approach. One social media user wrote, “Alia is serving vintage Cannes glamour with an Indian touch.”

Before this appearance, Alia had also attended the Cannes red carpet in a peach toned outfit designed by Tamara Ralph. Other Indian celebrities expected at the festival this year include Aditi Rao Hydari, Aishwarya Rai Bachchan, Karan Johar and Tara Sutaria.
