18:15 Local Time, 12:45 GMT, 18:15 IST: The IPL moves across to the mountains as Dharamsala is set to host it's first home game of the Punjab Kings for this season. The hosts will hope that the change of scenario will change their fortunes which has nosedived over the last three matches. Six wins and a washout saw them comfortably placed at one stage, but it has been followed by three successive losses, taking them down to the 4th and final playoffs slot. They are now nervously looking at the teams behind them and can't afford to slip any further. With the Chennai Super Kings and the Kolkata Knight Riders showing a late surge, Shreyas Iyer's men need to get their campaign kickstarted once again. Tonight, they're up against the Capitals - a team which has slipped from one bad loss to another. They are not officially eliminated as such, but they're playing like a team that has already accepted the inevitable. They need to win all their remaining games and then hope for luck to shine on them. A loss tonight and they will join the Super Giants and the Mumbai Indians at the exit gate. It's Match 55 and it's a contest between two desperate teams. Toss and team sheets coming up shortly..

A slight bias in terms of dimensions - 63m and 65m square boundaries while the straight boundary is at 72m. You rather be a batter than a bowler here, there's nothing on this surface to suggest otherwise. Nice even covering of grass, it's pretty coarse and hard. There might be a little bit in it with the new ball, but generally it should come onto the bat quite nicely. 209 is the average first innings score over the last 5 games and in those last 5 games, the team that batted first has won, reckon Danny Morrison and Nick Knight, in their pitch report

The last time the Delhi Capitals met the Punjab Kings, carnage ensued. 529 runs were scored. DC made 264 of those. But PBKS, to the disbelief of the home crowd and those watching, scored 265. And did so with room to spare.

DC, it could be argued, have not recovered since. They have won only one game and their campaign has fizzled out. Funnily though, PBKS have also found it tough. The air of invincibility has evaporated and while it may not be panic stations yet, one more defeat and they might start to wonder if this is another one of those what-if seasons.

And so, from that record-breaking afternoon in the capital, to the foothills of the Himalayas we go. Into the serene and colder confines of Dharamsala, where the Delhi Capitals now cling on by the barest of qualification threads, and where the Punjab Kings hope for the swashbuckling trajectory that defined most of their early-season fortunes.

A PBKS win will catapult them to the top, with qualification within grasp, and with DC most certainly consigned to elimination. But a DC win, and the Capitals will remain afloat (for now), even though it may lead to some introspection on the other side - over how a campaign that began in such spotless fashion has gone pear-shaped so quickly.
