Actor Ranveer Singh has found support from filmmaker Farah Khan and actor Gaurav Gera amid online discussions surrounding alleged vanity van usage during the shoot of Dhurandhar: The Revenge. The debate began after screenshots from the film’s end credits sparked claims that multiple vans had been assigned to Ranveer during production.
Farah recently visited Gaurav Gera’s residence, where the two discussed the film and Ranveer’s performance at length. Gaurav, who played soda shop owner Md Alam in the film, also recalled a funny behind the scenes interaction with the actor during script readings.
Sharing the anecdote, Gaurav said Ranveer recognised him from an earlier “Chutki” video collaboration and jokingly followed him during a break saying, “Chutki, washroom jaayegi?” Gaurav described the actor as playful and energetic on set.
Farah also praised Ranveer’s performance in the film and dismissed criticism around the vanity van discussion. Reacting to the controversy, she remarked, “What a talent. 5 van aur dedo usko, Dhurandhar ke baad.” When Gaurav responded that he had not seen that many vans during the shoot, Farah added, “Give it to him if he wants it.”
The online speculation started after a Reddit user shared a screenshot from the film’s credits mentioning “Hamza van,” “Hamza staff van,” and “Hamza normal van.” This led to claims that the production had arranged several vanity vans for the actor.
However, a production source later clarified that the term “van” referred to transport vehicles used during the Thailand schedule and not vanity vans. According to reports, one vanity van and two regular transport vehicles were assigned for staff movement, luggage and outdoor travel across Bangkok shooting locations.
Directed by Aditya Dhar, the spy thriller explores the rise of Hamza Ali Mazari within Lyari’s underworld while tracing the origins of Ranveer’s character Jaskirat Singh Rangi. The film also stars Arjun Rampal, R. Madhavan, Sanjay Dutt and Yami Gautam in important roles.
