Chapter 6

Next Morning Birla House

Abhimanyu is getting ready in his room. Neil is ready and waiting for his brother downstairs when he sees a servant taking coffee to Abhimanyu's room.

Neil: rajkumar(RK) its the third time you are taking coffee to bhai. What's the problem?

RK: Neil sir actually sir didn't like the first two coffees I took, so that's why.

Neil:give it to me. I will give him. Bhai your coffee.

Abhimanyu: sips and puts it back on table. Whats happening in this house, can't anybody make a better coffee.

Neil: bhai relax. I will ask Nimisha to get you a good coffee.

Abhimanyu: leave it. Are you ready? We will be late for the office. Lets leave.

Neil: bhai are you going to the office like this.

Abhimanyu: what do you mean?

Neil: look into the mirror. Where is your tie?

Abhimanyu stands in front of the mirror and sees he forgot his tie. Then looks back on the bed and their is no tie.

Abhimanyu: you go i am coming and he gets a flashback.

Flashback

It's been one week of their marriage. She is sitting on the bed reading some papers and he is on sofa working on the laptop.

Akshara: can I ask you something?

Abhimanyu: hmmm

Akshara: you won't be angry?

Abhimanyu nods his head in NO without looking at her.

Akshara: actually its that, I don't know how to say it but can i make you wear the tie always when you leave for work. Its that I kind of like it. I am not forcing just saying.

Abhimanyu: hmmm

Akshara: really and gets excited.

Abhimanyu was so engrossed in his work that he didn't realise what he had agreed to but now that he had said yes he couldn't deny it. So from that day it was always Akshara who made him wear the tie leaving aside any work she would be doing a tthat time.

Flashback Ends

Abhimanyu became sad and didn't wear the tie. He went to his side table to take his wallet but it wasn't their. He searched everywhere but couldn't find it. Abhimanyu shouts Nimishaaa.

Nimi: yes bhaiya.

Abhimanyu: has somebody cleaned my room.

Nimi: no. Di always did it herself no matter what because she said you do not like it, if your things are misplaced.

Something pinched his heart.

Abhimanyu: ask somebody else. I have told the servants 1000 times not to touch my things.

Nimi: yes. And they both go down.

Nimisha asks the servants but they say no they never go to his room as Akshara bhabhi has told them not to. A lump is formed in Abhimanyu's throat.

Manjari: what happened Abhimanyu? Why are shouting early morning.

Nimisha: maa bhaiya cant find his wallet.

Neil:and he didn't get a nice cup of coffee since morning.

Manjari:wait let me ask Akshara, she will definitely know.

Abhimanyu(murmuring): why would she know?

Manjari: hello Akshara beta where you sleeping?

Akshara: no maa you say what is it?

Manjari: actually Abhimanyu has created ruckus in the house early morning. He can't find his wallet. Do you know where is it?

Akshara thinks and remembers she had seen it under the table when she came back from the university yesterday. Manjari puts the phone on speaker.

Akshara: yes maa its under the table in the hall where we were sitting yesterday.

Abhimanyu looks and finds it exactly their. He takes and is about to leave when Neil tells him that he has forgotten his tie again which is heard by Akshara as the phone is still connected.

Abhimanyu: i don't want to.

Akshara:ok maa bye

Abhimanyu and Neil are leaving. Nimisha turns to her MIL.

Nimisha: without Akshara di bhaiya cant do a thing.

Manjari: he is not used to

All this is heard by Abhimanyu but he leaves.

On the other hand Akshara gets thinking why didn't he wear the tie. Never in this one year has she seen him leaving without a tie. She remembers how he never called her to make him wear the tie but waited for her to come on her own. Even though she always put the tie on bed along with his suit.

Abhimanyu reaches office and goes to his cabin. He sits and Nimisha's words are ringing in his ears. He thinks is it true that he can't do anything without her. He shrugs the thought and says its nothing like that.

Abhimanyu's Assistant: calls him sir a bit loudly.

Abhimanyu: what happened? What are you shouting? I am not deaf.

Assistant: sir I am standing here from past 10 minutes and I was calling you but you didn't hear.

Abhimanyu: ok . What is it now?

Assistant: Sir sign.

Abhimanyu does and he leaves. The staff outside are gossiping what has happened to Abhimanyu Sir. He is behaving so weird. He is so lost in his thoughts. And today he is here without a tie when he is himself so strict about formals. One of them said he might have had a fight with his wife. All this was heard by Abhimanyu. He gets thinking what's wrong with him and why didn't he wear a tie. He thinks let it be.

On the other hand the thought of Abhimanyu not wearing the tie was still bothering Akshara. She thinks maybe she is thinking too much and he actually didn't want to wear it.

Aarohi: di what are you thinking? Its time for your medicine.

Akshara makes a face.

Aarohi: dont make these faces, I will call jiju, then he will come and handle you.

Akshara: with a gloomy face murmurs he doesn't care.

Aarohi: what happened why is your mood off.

Akshara: nothing give me the medicine.

Abhimanyu and Neil are leaving from the office.

Neil: bhaiya are you fine.

Abhimanyu: yes what will happen to me.

Neil:no you seem to be tensed. Did something happen in the office?

Abhimanyu(remembering the conversation of his staff): no, nothing.

They reached home and went to their respective rooms.

Nimisha: Neil, bhaiya sounded low. Is everything fine in the office while putting his clothes back in the Cupboard.

Neil:everything is fine in office.i think he is missing bhabhi and gives her a high five.

Abhimanyu changes and sits on the sofa working on his laptop. He sees his clothes are still on the bed. He thinks why hasn't Akshara picked up her clothes yet.

Abhimanyu: Aksharaaaaa.

Anisha: laughs and enters his room. What happened bhai you can't live without bhabhi even for a day and runs from their.

Abhimanyu thinks is he so much dependent on her. Leave it. Sab ka dimag kharab ho rakha hai aur mera b kar rahe hain. Should I call Aarohi and ask her about the medicine. But what will she think why I called her and not her sister. If I call Akshara she wont talk to me. Let me go to maa she would have talked to her bahu.

He goes downstairs and sees his mother is talking to Akshara.

Manjari: see Abhimanyu is here. Here talk to him.

Abhimanyu& Akshara: no.

Manjari: stop this act and talk.

Abhimanyu takes the phone and both are silent but none disconnected the call. Finally after 5 long minutes.

Abhimanyu: how r u feeling?

Akshara: better and with that she cuts the call.

Abhimanyu is baffled but then remembers how many times he has done the same to her. He then went to his room after dinner.

In his room he remembered what all he had heard from people about the two of them and with that he slept.

On the other hand Akshara couldn't sleep. She was remembering how after finishing in the kitchen she used to come and see him sleeping. That was the time when she used to observe him keenly and smile to herself.

END OF DAY 1 AWAY FROM EACH OTHER
