Akshara dreaming about him but he went a step forward and was hallucinating about her.

Abhi finally accepted that he cares for her but next question that his conscience should ask is: did he ever show her that he does?

Chapter 7

Next morning Akshara wakes up and sees Abhimanyu sitting on her bed.

Akshara: you? What are you doing here early morning?

Abhimanyu: why, can't I come here to meet my wife?

Akshara: what did you say? You have come to meet me?

Abhimanyu: actually I have come to take you back.

Akshara: I don't believe that I became this important for you in a single day.

Suddenly water falls on her face forcefully and she wakes up only to see Aarohi in front of her and realizes it was just a dream.

Aarohi: di its 11 o clock already and you are still sleeping. Dreaming about jiju.

Akshara(still sleepy): how do you know? Sorry I didn't mean that.

Aarohi: its ok di. You were dreaming about your husband only not someone else's.

Birla House

Nimisha: maa bhaiya seems to be so lost. He didn't have coffee today also and left like that to office. I think you should bring Akshara di back now.

Manjari: nimi, she is his wife, he will see what he has to do. I did whatever I though twas right for Akshara. Rest is their choice.

Meanwhile Abhimanyu is in a restaurant in a meeting. Once he finishes it he leaves the restaurant. He sees Akshara on the other side of road walking alone talking on phone. He crosses the road and sees a group of boys staring her and passing comments. This angers him so much and one of the boys passing a flying kiss to her. Bas that was it.

Abhimanyu holds his collar slaps him so hard and shouts at him "how dare you"and a punch on the face. Grabs the second boy this is what your parents have taught you. He beats all of them and they run away. Turns to Akshara and says are you fine?

Akshara(turning towards him): thank you so much bhaiya.

Abhimanyu is shocked and sees it’s not Akshara but some other girl.

Abhimanyu: it's ok. Take care.

Abhimanyu starts thinking was he just imagining her? He was not understanding what was wrong with him. He concludes ye sab Nimi ki baaton ka asar hai. He thinks is Akshara fine. He decides to call her. As he takes out his phone it starts ringing. It's Akshara's father.

Abhimanyu: hello, papa how are you?

Papa: haan damadji I am fine. How are you?

Abhimanyu: I am also fine. How many times I have asked you to call me beta?

Papa: acha beta theek hai. I was thinking if you are not busy can you come over for dinner. Post marriage you never did.

Abhimanyu: ok papa I will come.

Papa:see Akshara did I not tell you that Abhimanyu will come. You only were saying that he will deny.

Abhimanyu hears this as the phone is still connected and thinks why would she think I would say no to her father. Whatever it is today I will talk to her and disconnects the call

Akshara is sitting on her bed thinking. She calls somebody.

Akshara: yaar what should I do now. He is coming over for dinner.

Caller:you are worried as if he isn't your husband but some guy who is coming to see you.

Akshara: shut up. Do you think it's some kind of joke?

Caller: ok relax. Tell me what’s the problem?

Akshara: I don’t want to face him. You know na we had a fight post our anniversary.

Caller: yes but you weren't wrong.

Akshara: I know it was Abhimanyu’s mistake but I was too rude.

Caller: awww what did you say just now.

Akshara: what????

Caller: Abhimanyu, it sounds so cool from your mouth.When was the last time you have called him by his name? I am feeling so good,how good will he feel.

Akshara: (thinks I actually don't call him by name strange). Leave all this. I don’t want to talk to him right now. You know na I am a calm person but when I am angry I completely loose it and I gave him a glimpse on anniversary. But not now, then I myself don't feel good.

Caller: ok come to my place.

Akshara: seriously I love you. Pooja you are the best.

Akshara tells her father that Pooja called her and she is going to her place.

Papa:but Akshara, Abhimanyu is coming. If you are not here how will he feel?

Akshara: papa he is coming to meet you and you know I can never say no to Pooja. And she leaves.

In evening Abhimanyu comes for dinner. He takes blessings from his in laws and sits on the sofa. He started looking around but couldn't see her.

Aarohi: di is not here.

Abhimanyu(worried): why, I mean where is she? It’s too late.

Aarohi: dont worry. She has gone to meet Pooja di.

Papa:yes, Akshara was here only but then Pooja called her and she left. When it comes to Pooja she doesn't see anything.

Aarohi: papa they are childhood friends.

Abhimanyu: Aarohi how was she feeling? Is she better?

Aarohi: yes jiju she is perfectly fine.

Papa:come let’s have dinner.

Abhimanyu:ok

Abhimanyu leaves from their post dinner. In his room he thinks why is he feeling bad if she was not there. Why did he feel the need to see her?

His Conscience (HC): because you are missing her.

Abhimanyu turns and comes face to face with his conscience.

Abhimanyu: what nonsense is this? Why would I miss her now when I never have before?

HC: because she has never left you alone like this before, so how would you miss her. You took her for granted Abhimanyu Birla. And it vanishes.

Abhimanyu: no I haven't taken her for granted, I care for her. Are you listening?

And with this thought he sleeps.

Chapter 8

Next morning Abhimanyu is leaving for office.

Manjari: when did you come back yesterday Abhimanyu?

Abhimanyu: I had come to your room but you were sleeping.

Manjari: how was everyone at Akshara’s place? How was Akshara feeling?

Abhimanyu(irritated): I don't know, she was not there.

Manjari: then where was she.

Abhimanyu:I dont know. Aarohi said she had gone to meet a friend.

Manjari: ok. Where are you going? Come have breakfast.

Abhimanyu: I will have something at office.

Manjari: Abhimanyu you will fall sick. Since Akshara has left you have been so lost,neither have you known about your food nor anything else. I think you should bring her back.

Abhimanyu: it’s not needed. If she wants to come she will. She had gone out of her own will. Nobody forced her. And leaves.

Nimisha: mom is it because bhaiya couldn't meet Di yesterday or did he actually mean what he said.

Manjari: I dont know Nimi. I am worried now. Did I do the right thing by sending Akshara?

Nimisha: no maa its nothing like that. They are perfect for each other and they will realize it soon.

In the office Neil comes to Abhimanyu's cabin.

Neil: bhaiya did you see this invitation card from Khurana's.

Abhimanyu: invitation??

Neil:its Mr. Khurana's daughter's engagement.

Abhimanyu: his son was with me in college. Right?

Neil:yes bhaiya, its Rahul Khurana's sister's engagement.

Abhimanyu: ok. You and Nimisha go.

Neil:but bhai they have invited all of us.

Before Abhimanyu could answer, his phone starts ringing

Abhimanyu: hello Mr. Khurana (K), congratulations I just got your invitation card.

K: Abhimanyu beta you have to come along with your family. If your mother blesses my daughter, I will be happy. And you will get to meet Rahul after a long time. Please don’t say no.

Abhimanyu: ok. We will come

Khurrana House

Pooja: Akshara I am telling you, I will tell papa everything. If anything goes wrong in the function.

Akshara: relax yaar. Stop worrying. Nothing will happen. When nobody knows anything,what problem will happen?

Pooja: yaar you are not getting my point. If jiju says something in front of everyone.

Akshara: you are mad. He won't do anything. In the party apart from you and him nobody knows I am Mrs. Birla. So how will there be a problem.

Pooja: ok fine but promise me you won't spoil your mood because of jiju and you will enjoy everything.

Akshara: okkkk I promise I will enjoy your engagement to the fullest.

Office

Abhimanyu: Neil call nimisha and tell them to be ready. We will go and pick them.

Neil: ok but what about Bhabhi.

Abhimanyu: nobody knows she is your bhabhi, so she doesn't need to come with us.

Khurrana House

Pooja is getting ready and Akshara is helping her. Akshara's phone starts ringing.It's Anisha video calling her.

Akshara: yes Anisha how are you?

Anisha: leave all this. Tell me which among the two dresses is good.

Akshara: Royal blue is good.

Nimi: di help me as well. Which one is better?

Akshara: red suits you more nimi. But why are you guys getting ready?

Nimi: di Neil called and said we have to attend an engagement party.

Akshara: did he say whose engagement is it?

Nimi:I don’t remember, I think he said Khurana's.

Akshara's face falls and thinks Abhimanyu wouldn't react but mom would.

Nimi: didi what are you thinking?

Akshara: Nimi, Anisha listen to me carefully. You are coming to Pooja Khurana's engagement. She is my childhood friend and I am at her place only. So you people won't react when you see me here. Please make Mom understand this specifically. I do not want to spoil her engagement. Ok.

Anisha: ok bahbhi.

As Abhimanyu and Neil come to pick them up Anisha tells them everything what Akshara had told her and they leave. They arrive at the party and greet everyone. Abhimanyu is looking here and there to find her but can't. Pandit says it’s time for the ceremony and Mrs. Khurana goes to call the bride.

Mrs.K: Akshara is Pooja ready.

Akshara: yes she is. I will bring her downstairs.

As they descend down the stairs light falls on them and Rahul who is standing with Abhimanyu sighs WOW. Akshara is looking awesome and that's when Abhimanyu looks up and his eyes are stuck on her. She is wearing a shimmery pink saree with a silver blouse and her hair tied in a messy bun with a pearl set. Abhimanyu couldn't take eyes of her and same was the case with Rahul. Abhimanyu noticed this.

Abhimanyu: what happened Rahul?

Rahul: man look at her she is looking so pretty.

Abhimanyu: do you know her?

Rahul: yes she is Pooja's childhood friend. I really like her and I have decided that I will propose her after the engagement.

Abhimanyu (clenching his fist): since when have you started believing in getting married.You weren't the commitment types person back in college.

Rahul: that is true but if a girl is like Akshara then only a mad person can't fall for her. She is so sweet and understanding, I can't tell you.

Abhimanyu: have you ever talked to her, that you know so much about her.

Rahul: no I haven't talked to her much but I have observed when a person is around her she emanates such positive energy anyone can smile and be happy.

Abhimanyu was feeling disgusted. He had spent 1 year with this women and he had failed to notice her. He didn't know anything about her. Had he actually taken her for granted?

Rahul: what are you thinking? I will be back.

Manjari: come Abhimanyu let's meet Akshara. And she drags him along.

Mr.K:please come. Pooja this is Abhimanyu Birla and his family.

Pooja greets them and takes blessing from Manjari.

Mr.K: this is Akshara, Pooja's childhood friend. She is a gem of a child. She handled everything here. Without her It would have been difficult to manage everything in a single day.

Akshara takes blessings from her MIL and she puts a kaala teeka on her. Abhimanyu leaves from there. Akshara feels bad but pretends to smile. After the engagement Pooja makes an announcement about a game where couples will dance together.

Pooja: One bowl has boys name and other has girls name. I will take one chit from each bowl and then they will have to pair up.

Pooja's fiancee picks a chit from boys bowl and it's Rahul Khurana.

Rahul(standing next to Abhimanyu) I wish Akshara is my partner. I will tell her everything on the dance floor itself.

Abhimanyu(murmuring): in your dreams.

Pooja: from the girls it's Anisha Birla.

So we have Rahul and Anisha.

From the boys bowl the chit is picked it's Abhimanyu Birla.

Abhimanyu: mom I am not doing all this.

Before his mother could reply Pooja takes a chit not from the bowl but she had this already in her hand and pretends to take it from the bowl and says Akshara Goenka.

Akshara chokes and Manjari tells Abhimanyu that its fine if he doesn't want to dance someone else will.

Abhimanyu: no mom its ok. Pooja will feel bad. She has arranged this game with so much love.

Some more are chits are taken out and now everybody is on the dance floor and it's announced that it will be a paper dance. Akshara's eyes widen but before she could say anything a paper is handed to her.

Akshara: there is no need for you to do it. I know you are not comfortable with all this. Once the dance starts I will step out of the paper and we will be out.

Abhimanyu: Abhimanyu Birla doesn't play a game with the intention to lose it.

Everyone starts dancing. Akshara is staring Abhimanyu she had actually missed him in these two days. Same was the case with Abhimanyu. Both are lost in each other and after a minute a couple steps out of the paper and they are out. The paper then is folded and now Akshara stood on his feet. They are dancing so beautifully and everyone is staring at them. Rahul sees them dancing so perfectly and feels bad. While staring at them he loses balance and twists his foot and steps out of the paper.

Pooja: Now only Birlas are left. Akshara gives her a death glare and she corrects herself. It's the final round whoever is left will win and paper will be folded in last time.

Now as the paper is folded Neil lifts Nimisha in his arms in princess style. Abhimanyu chokes as he sees Neil and Nimisha and thinks he can't lift Akshara like that she won't be comfortable so he holds her waist and lifts her up in the air. Akshara rests her hands on his shoulders and is looking at his face.They are lost in each other's eyes and thoroughly enjoying the dance. On the other hand Neil twists his foot and Nimisha falls. Finally Abhira win the competition and Akshara hugs him in excitement. But she immediately pulls apart and says sorry to Abhimanyu.

Now Akshara is standing with Birla family feeling a bit embarrassed about the hug.

Anisha: bhabhi when are you coming back. We all miss you and bhai doesn't say anything but he misses you the most.

Before Abhira could say anything Akshara’s phone starts ringing and Abhimanyu sees it's Rahul calling. He remembers what he had told him about proposing Akshara and he gets very angry. Before Akshara could receive the call.

Abhimanyu: it’s nothing like that Anisha with his angry young man look.

Akshara rejects the call and leaves from their with tears in her eyes. Manjari gives a disgusted look to Abhimanyu.

Manjari: I want to go home Neil. I can't stay here anymore.

Abhimanyu sees Rahul following Akshara. He asks Neil to take everyone home and himself follows Rahul. Rahul enters a room where Akshara is sitting near the window. Abhimanyu stands near the door.

Rahul: Akshara what are you doing here and are you crying?

Akshara: arre Rahul when did you come here and sorry I couldn't receive your call.

Rahul: did anybody say anything to you?

Akshara: no Rahul I am fine. You say why were you calling?

Rahul: Akshara I have to tell you something rather ask you something. Abhimanyu clenched his fist.

Akshara(wiping her tears): yes what is it?

Rahul: please don’t take me otherwise but since the time I have seen you I feel this strange pull towards you. I so like it when you talk around making people understand and take care of everyone. I will come straight to the point. I don’t want to complicate this. Will you marry me?

Akshara(shocked): what are you saying Rahul? This is not possible. (Abhimanyu feels better). You are a very nice guy but there is someone in my life already. I am so sorry.

Rahul: ouchh that’s bad. But who is the lucky man. I want to meet him.

Akshara: of course why not, but not now.

With that Akshara meets Pooja and takes her leave. That night Akshara cried herself to sleep thinking that other than respect Abhimanyu can't give her anything.

On the other hand Abhimanyu reached home and nobody talked to him. They went to their rooms and he was left alone. He couldn't sleep that night for reason unknown to him. Or maybe he knew deep down but was not ready to acknowledge it.
