*Season 2, Week 16* Analysis Thread

Congrats guys on the new thread!🥳 Its been a confusing week for me but hopefully with Ishwaris entry n Shaheers presence will sail the ship in the right direction...!Thinking of catching the last weeks episodes again as many writeups here were positively encouraging to view in a different n better light!

My POV No offense

One of my favorite weekend activities is thinking about Krpkab apart from all the other things. 😆 . This week my thoughts were on some of the things that have been kept consistent throughout the series. They are --

1) samosas -- There has been regular mentioning of samosas throughout the series. When Dev takes Ishwari and Sonakshi to the young achievements award party. Where Sonakshi brings a plate of salad to Ishwari in front of the ministers wife, Ishwari defends Sonakshi by saying that she is a good nutritionist, but is also strict. She says she has been dying to eat "samosas". The day Ishwari throws Sonakshi out of the house as a nutritionist, before that happens it is shown that Vickky brings special "samosas" for Ishwari, maami and himself. Sonakshi stops Ishwari from eating them following which maami makes a big hungama and gets Sonakshi fired. On the Diwali time it was shown that Dev brings kachori and "samosas" for breakfast. In Friday's episode, maami again mentions samosas and tells that Sonakshi and Suhana are like the chilliest in them. I feel this is in reference to looking beyond what is directly visible. i.e. The soft and savory interior inside a hard shell.

2) Fire and Burning -- I feel the reference to fire and burning is shown throughout the series in one way or the other. Maami and Vickky are shown to burn with jealousy in regards to Dev and Ishwari and their prosperity and are still feeling it. Maami was shown to burn her own house down in order to come and live in IN. She burned with the way Dev treated Ishwari, something she wanted for herself meaning she wanted Vickky also give that kind of respect to her. We also have the wedding fire, fire during SR where it burns bright with passion, in Shimla where the fire of love is extinguished, the farmhouse fire which consumed their relationship, fire at summer camp where both Dev and Sonakshi realized that they can still read each other and the fire in the forest where they realize that their hatred is actually a facade to cover the anger and disappointment that they have with each other.

3) Chori -- this term has been used across the whole series. The first time Dev and Sonakshi meet, Sonakshi tells Dev "ek toh chori uparse sinazhori". 😆 . Then the first time Sonakshi comes to IN and before Dev can introduce her as the doctor, Ishwari tells her that she is waiting for "safeed coat wali chorni". Then Sonakshi catches GKB stealing from Ishwari's room drawer leading to Dev saying that Sonakshi shouldn't have made GKB feel like a "chor". Then Vickky steals Dev's watch and when Dev reveals it stolen maami says that "sona khona aur paana dono apshakun hota hai". There was also mentioning of chori when maami sees gold watch on Ranveer's hands. After that it is Vickky stealing money from company account which Dev tells at home. This is during his wedding with Elena. The major accusation of "chori" in season 1 is to the Boses for the 5cr given by Dev.

In season 2, there was reference to chori again with the same proverb by Sonakshi in their forest fight. Now we have another major track involving the same "chori" by Ishwari.

It is amazing how the meaning of "chori" differs in each of the above situations and how it affects the person.


Apart from these contrasting themes, a couple of other highlights in last weeks episodes.

1) Ronita vs Sonakshi -- it was shown that Ronita's mom wants Ronita to interfere in Sonakshi's life and get her out of Bose house. But it was shown as Ronita refusing to do so and saying that her place is different than Sonakshi's and she already has that place. Here Ronita respected Sonakshi's privacy even though she has the rights to talk on that subject.

Although Boses did not say anything to Sonakshi, her actions were such that it seemed like she had a problem with Neha staying at IN. I am not doubting Sonakshi's intentions here. But just pointing out that her actions were misunderstood as such. Like she wanted to get rid of Neha.

2) References to Sun and Moon -- Sonakshi in her story to Dev when he was beaten up by goons refers to Suhana as her "sun". She also is shown waking Suhana with a song where she once again refers to her as "sun". In her talk with maamaji Sonakshi says "Dev kisi aur ka chand hai, who mera suraj kaise ban payega". But during the anniversary celebration, the same "sun (Suhana) has started to revolve around "moon (Dev). It was also interesting that in the poem that Suhana recited, it only praises Dev and not Sonakshi. I mean it was not Dev's birthday. It was the wedding anniversary of both Dev and Sonakshi, but the whole time Suhana mainly addressed Dev and he was the main point of view for her. I feel it was in reference to what Sam mentioned-- biological advantage.

I felt both the above parallels will play a role in the upcoming episodes. 😃
