Here are some amazing articles with wonderful explanation for the last 3 episodes from last week --
@Shaavi, thank you so much for sharing links to these amazing articles... They were a joy to read and while, all of last week, I desperately wished to pen down my thoughts regarding Dev-Sona's realisations and their following conversations... But, each time, I used to sit down to write, I, once again got lost in the Devakshi land...
And, I feel that I couldn't add anything substantial to the analysis that have been posted during the weekend and even if I could, I am pretty sure that the above three articles have already expressed them, in such a manner that just left me spellbound...
Now, coming back to the first episode of this week... I loved the fact that, this episode carried the same qualities which made the previous three episodes so special... Due to the fast pace of the last three episodes, I also felt the lack of crispiness that was the hallmark of the first 100 episodes of this marvelous show...
But, today, I absolutely adored the manner in which this episode was executed and delivered to us... It reminded us of the good old days of this show... The lack of over-the-top drama, the subtle and gentle way in which every scene was written and acted... This time, the transition from one scene to another was nearly perfect and was in no way jarring or distracting...
Below are my views on some of the scenes which I felt were the highlights of this episode:
(Again, this post is not an analysis... I just enjoyed the natural flow of the scenes presented before us...)
1. Asha's talk about how she has become more of a friend to Sona, in the last 7 years, instead of being a mother... I really liked how she expressed with confidence, that while Sona might come to her to discuss all of her problems, but even then, the only person who can heal her and bring the old Sonakshi back is Dev... I just loved how confident she was, in her ability to discern and understand the inner turmoil of Sona... She also acknowledged the fact that for the world or Bijoy, her daughter might have moved on but in the end, it is all a facade...
In some ways, her talk reminded me of the conversations that Sona shared with both Elena and Mamaji, in the previous week... In those conversations, they revealed the fact to Sona that Dev might have tried to create an illusion that he has moved on... But, still, he is broken and the only person who can heal him is Sona herself... Mamaji also spoke about how Ishwari might make herself believe that her son does not need Sona, but, even she knows, the reality, whether she acknowledges it or not...
It was also an echo to another statement that Sona made, when she was standing in front of the farmhouse... About how, 'Dev and Sona might have broken each other but only they, still hold the key to rebuilding themselves'.
2. I always believed that Dev is like a pendulum and thus, oscillates between his heart and his brain... But, his Khargosh, not only brings him peace and contentment of mind, but also acts as an emotional anchor which aids in bringing him to a state of emotional stability... And, thus allows him to become the man, that he wishes to be... She is the bridge between Dev's tormented past and his bright future and hence, allows Dev to focus on his present...
This was clearly evident from today's conversations that were shared between Dev and Asha... And, with Sona's mere presence in his life, his ability back to think like a rational human being was back... And, he took yet another but important, baby step in his journey to rediscover his true self, when he took a stand for Asha.
3. I have always loved and adored the relationship between Asha and Dev... Just the level of respect, warmth and comfort that they share for each other is incredible to watch... Whenever they are together, a sense of calmness and serenity passes over me... And, today, was just a reaffirmation of this already known fact...
I adored the interactions between them outside Ishwari's Niwas and how Dev reassured Asha was truly worth-watching.. He might call her 'aunty', due to Ishwari's insecurities but the manner in which he respects and admires her, is truly a testament that he, not only consider her as Sona's mother or Suhana's grandmother, but as a very dear and trusted friend...
Finally, he expressed himself and loved how he, without going overboard, broke the silence and showed Radha Rani's her place and then, apologised to Asha on his family's behalf... Once again, he reaffirmed the fact, that he considers Asha as an integral part of his family...
I know, these are baby steps, but they still left me giddy and excited for how their relationship shapes up...
And, I am pretty sure that Asha would have left feeling a little more optimistic after seeing the changes in Dev and her wish of seeing her daughter's old self back after 7 long years, might finally come true...
4. Since, last Monday, I have been itching to write about Saurabh's actions on the dinner table, and I might still end up writing my own interpretation of those scenes... But, due to the explosions that continued to rock us since previous Wednesday had left me in a state of mental chaos, which prevented me to express my views on above mentioned subject...
And, after watching today's episode, I felt the itch has been slightly gone away... I really liked the manner in which Saurabh allowed Ronita to go meet her imaginary friend, just because he has faith that she is not going to break his trust...
I loved how maturely, he handled the situation and was sensible of the fact, that even after their marriage, their individual identities still exist and it is important to give each other space and freedom to exercise their individuality...
It is definitely something that we, as youngsters, should understand and appreciate... So, once again, kudos to the writers to expressing something so crucial in such a gentle and kind manner...
For this, I must give credit to not only Saurabh but also, to the upbringing of the Boses (especially Asha).. They might have some faults, but both Bijoy and Asha have raised their children well...
I hope that Ronita realises this soon... But, was pleasantly surprised when I, once again heard the iconic dialogue of Dev Dixit, 'Tum nahi samjhoge' (You will not understand)... In fact, this was the one dialogue which left me quite stunned...
The only possible explanation that I have, at this point, is that she wishes Saurabh to love her with the same intensity, as Dev and Sona loves each other... She wishes to be the center of Saurabh's Universe and vice-versa...
5. I really felt bad for Golu, after watching the last couple of episodes.. But, today's interaction between Dev and Golu made me take a sigh of relief...
I am sure that still, there will be challenges awaiting in front of Dev in balancing his relationships with both Suhana and Golu... But, I am pretty sure, with his continued efforts as well as Sona's positive presence, will help him in establishing a strong bond between Suhana and Golu...
And, in some ways, this will be his redemption from his failures, as a husband, to balance the two most important women in his life..
6. I was again, taken aback when the writers very softly, reintroduced the subject of Bose eviction... And, from the most unlikely source, Vicky himself.. I am glad that they have not brushed this issue, under the carpet..
This is indeed a severe hurdle facing Dev and Sonakshi but I am sure, this time, it will act as a catalyst in eliminating the remaining distance that exists between them...
It throws me back to the conversation during last Friday's episode, when Vicky expressed that he will again burn Dev-Sona's relationship, like he did earlier...
But, this time, I feel that it will be his family (including himself) who will be burnt in the fire initiated by Vicky...
Also, with the reintroduction, it is clearly evident that Dev has not forgotten about it and is still feeling a sense of guilt, when it comes to his supposed decision to evict the Boses out of their home... I still feel that he knows, he lacks the strength to deal with it alone... Hence, he is trying to earn Sona's trust, so that he could gather the courage to confront and correct his supposed mistake...
Looking forward how creatives take this track forward...
7. I was highly amused with the topic of the conversation shared between Dev and Sona regarding the fundamental differences between men and women...
(By the way, I firmly stand behind Dev's view... But, all jokes apart..)
In my opinion, it was a very subtle way in which the writers have tried to convey to the audience the difference in both Dev and Sona's approach in tackling problems...
Dev, takes everything at face value... But, I believe, it is the way in which he tries to simplify and lessen the weight that he carries on his already over-burdened shoulders... By taking things at face value and not trying to reach to the depth or understand the inner psyche of a situation, he reduces the complexities and hence, focuses on solving the immediate goal/ task...
This might not seem wise, but it is a good mechanism to deal with the pressures of becoming an adult in a very tender age of 8 years... This must be one of the factors driving him forward, during his childhood years... And, it can also be seen, when we witness, his single-minded focus on achieving success, in his life, so that he can uplift his family out of their miserable past...
On the other hand, Sona focuses all her energy in uncovering all the layers related to a problem and hence, is always in pursuit of understanding the root cause of the problem... This is what makes her capable of understanding the inner thought-process of the people around her... And, enables her to make better decisions, dealing with the multitude of emotions and the complexities associated with it... This must be one of the factors in making her more emotionally mature and consequently, a strong woman, as she is today (and, always has been..)
But, by following this approach, she tends to over-analyse situations and hence, put more pressure on herself.. In her pursuit to solve or know the underlying cause, she sometimes, oversteps her boundaries or intervene in matters, where she should just observe but should not take any kind of action..
8. The last scene (Elena and Sona's conversation and then, Dev and Sona hiding their thoughts from each other) would have shaken me, if I had not watched the previous week's episodes.. It is truly a recipe of an upcoming confrontation between our protagonists..
But, considering how maturely and gently, the writers are slowly making Dev and Sona realise their fallacies and hence, building a path for their reunion, I feel positive regarding the upcoming track..
In my opinion, writers have intelligently tried to point to a key issue which had prevented Dev and Sona to become 'Devakshi' in the true sense...
Both of them might consider each other's families as their own and the problems being faced as their own problems... But, their difference in approaching and tackling a particular problem (discussed in the above mentioned point) has left them feeling hesitant regarding each other's style and method of finding a solution to a problem...
They might consider each other's problems as their own, but their way of solving a problem creates a sort of an invisible wall between them.. And, this prevents them from communicating with each other and hence, instead of finding a common plan of action, their different methods counter each other's style... And, hence, instead of simplifying the process of balancing each other's approaches, it creates more hurdles and complications between them...
This shortcoming in their relationship prevents them from having complete trust in each other's and their own abilities to solve a problem together...
This reminds me of the initial cover art of this show... In the original cover art, on one corner at right hand side of the picture, we see Dev and Sonakshi walking across a dusty path, laden with colored leaves, holding each other's hands and smiling softly as the autumn trees, standing on the sidelines of their path, dance with the soothing melody of the whistling breeze...
And, I currently see Dev and Sona walking on two parallel roads which will end up in the same destination but, will never intersect... I hope that, by using the upcoming track as a medium, they learn from their mistakes and make the image in the cover art turn into reality...
And, finally, my views regarding today's episode comes to an end... Personally, for me, it made me nostalgic and made be travel back to the golden days of Kuch Rang Pyar Ke Aise Bhi...
I can't wait to hear from all of you...
