@sjain, I guess yesterday's scene was sort of a parallel or a retake to another similar scene during season 1... Can you please tell me episode no. from which you have taken first 6 snapshots for your post?? I am just curious...

Shaavi...Thanks for these links...Though I am a regular reader of these posts, thus week didn't get time for the same. I am happy that you reminded me about it. Btw, I am going to share these links in the main forum, because I feel that the misunderstandings many are having about Sona will be cleared.

Beautiful parallels shaavi 👍🏼 I'm too in Aww of u'r points.😃 U indeed hav a great hold in all epis of kuch rang which clearly shows how much this show is close to u'r heart like many others . Btw, i was thinking bout dev & saurav too.. How saurav behaved wen asha n bijoy hid talks bout sona from ronita. I think he acted a bit immaturely esp in front of his in laws , he cud 've acted more pleasntly but he did took stand for his wife in front of his parents compared to a major drawback as far as dev is concerned. I'm nt going in to details but jst a thought .

Aarcha, with SauRo, the makers are definitely showing the comparison. The comparisons run much deeper however. Saurabh blew things out of proportion and it was refreshing to see Ronita trying to calm things down with him as well as her own mother.

Dev & Saurabh have very little in common to be compared to. Just like Vicky and Dev dont have much in common. Like Dev said y'day, some stuff is better ignored.. its normal.. routine.

What is really intriguing is how "trust" is playing a role in 3 different couples. Elena knows she cant trust vicky but has no other option. Ronita trusts her ILs but Saurabh's antics have had her worried. And Devakshi have only now started realising how important trust is.

Glad that you chanced on this thread and you are writing in it and that I get to read what you write cos man I sure don't venture past this thread and if I do I try not to breathe loudly for fear of backlash 😆 . Do keep writing.

Two ways to deal with it.
  • Surface acting
  • Deep acting
While Dev's facade was surface acting that means your emotions being displayed are different from what they actually are (faking of emotions). This surface acting resulted in emotional exhaustion which was reflected in his hurtful acts (Can I call it manhandling).

Whereas Sonakshi's facade was more of deep acting, that means you try to match your inner feelings with displayed emotions (faking with good intentions).

@ Bashing hater

Thanks for clarifying how Dev's facade falls under surface acting. You mentioned the instances also. Still I have my own confusion regarding your categorisation. If Sonakshi's facade falls under deep acting that is faking with good intention why can't Dev be placed there?

Dev did not reveal his relationship with Sona before Iswari may be with a good intention.

1 Dev may be trying to prepare Iswari to accept Sona as his life partner by making Iswari realise her worth.

2 Dev may be confident of Iswari's approval and thought she will welcome her wholeheartedly.

3 Dev may have wished to spend time with Sona ,understand her properly and enjoy the secret meets ,may be he wanted to cherish the moments without interruption from anyone.

In S2 both Dev and Sona pretended that the other one is not indispensable . So I won't consider that since both wanted to prove a point.

Somehow I can't think Dev as one who can fake emotions. May be my weakness or never know it may be my strong point.

Sorry, this is my point of view. You need not consider it as you are a specialist in this field of study. Thanks again.

Lakshmi.

@Suyash and BH: I don't think that dialogue indicated inconsistency from Asha at all. It shows that she recognised Sona's need for Dev, even during the separation, but she also acknowledged that Sona and Dev could not be together because of what she assumed Dev was like. In those circumstances she figured that maybe Sona doesn't get to be with her soulmate in this lifetime -- because their values and families clashed so much, and their relationship made Sona miserable -- but why shouldn't Sona move on and live her life with an excellent partner like Jatin, if she should so choose?

Then, as she explained to Bijoy, she saw a different side of Dev when he came to stay with them. That gave her hope that maybe a relationship between Dev and Sona was possible after all; their differences were not as vast as Asha had expected, and they were still so affected by each other after all these years. What's more, both of them loved Soha with the same intensity. She was once again able to envision them as a couple, as a family.

So it's not inconsistency, but rather adaptation: Asha allowing her views to be flexible according to the evidence she has before her at any given moment, rather than being stuck on one idea or possibility and refusing to admit change. That flexibility is what makes her character stand out as mature and wise.
