He is a PR(permanent resident) card holder. Similar to green card in US. India doesn't have dual citizenship. So he can't have both Canadian and Indian citizenship simultaneously.

Lot of Canadian actors and singers get US and Canadian citizenship as the industry is based in HW.

Coming back to your question, getting another citizenship does not make a person anti-nationalist. It just means they are seeking better opportunities for their personal or professional growth. It doesn't mean they don't love their country of origin. Usually families immigrate due to their kids securing better future. A lot of people settle back in India after acquiring a PR or green card since it's a good back-up plan

Selfish perhaps but it's not being anti-nationalist. You are not acting against your country.

He is one really clever BW star who did mauqe par chauka chup chaap ...in order to promote him and his movies he took the best promotion strategy one can do at this moment in india ..created an image of patriotic indian citizen while givng up citizenship of india ...saanp bhi mar jaaye aur laathi bho na toote 😉

As far as I've heard, he is a Canadian citizen and had given up his Indian citizenship. But it is possible that he is not a Canadian citizen but only a permanent resident (as mentioned by another member). But I doubt about the PR status because to maintain your Permanent Residency, you have to spend about 2 years in every 5 years duration. I don't see him do that, because most of his films in the last few years have been shot in India or UK. He has probably already gotten his Canadian citizenship a few years back when quite a few of his films were shot in Canada (some 2X7 Tasveer film with Ayesha Takia, Thank You etc.) and completed the residency requirement to get the citizenship.
