watched the episode after completing my chores, had read Tani's LU thread and saw everyone getting excited about the hug and that was the only eye catcher in the whole epi it seems but there was more to it...
the scene starts with the three begums and a badshah..! begum number one is talking about taking a practical decision, and to some extent she is right, only if her intentions are not politically driven..begum number 2 is a combination of slight practicality and emotion, she has a soft corner for begum 3 and also does not want any misunderstanding between the badshah and his third begum..a mature, sensible, sensitive decision but not necessarily right!..the third begum is purely emotion driven and takes a decision entirely filled with emotions which at times could be dangerous, and at times could save someone's life as it happened in the vish paan case!
now what a badshah should do, whom should he listen to, which begum..the one who is giving him a practical advice so that such a thing never happens again..or to the one whose son was involved in the incident and advices to let it go..or to the third who has emotional attachment to the culprit?
the badshah is rahim's atalik..and is emotionally attached to the third begum his jodha begum..he does not want to hurt her feelings and even want to make sure rahim is safe..he has a bigger picture to look at..his decisions cannot be completely emotion driven, there has to be a balance in giving a just and fair verdict!
generally the females are emotion driven and that is how god has made them..being emotional leads to immediate action taken when the child is hungry..which is more to do with in born maternal instincts and men on the other hand look at the broader picture and are comparatively far sighted, visionary, and being a king the responsibility increases many folds! therefore, in my opinion the decision should be taken keeping in mind the benefit of all and not emotion driven due to having a soft corner for one more than the others!
in this case what he decided was mainly because of salima making him realize the bond that jodha shared in her trying times with shehnaaz and he was already guilt driven from the situation hence decided to go with his second begum's advice..and if he is practical enough he should also take some precautionary measures to make sure such a thing does not happen again! but will our natkiye rupantar cover it all, i doubt their main focus now will be how shehnaaz will create trouble..and the cycle will go on...
so here i put this question in front of you all.. which begum do you think was right and why and did the badshah take the right decision?
