City Care Hospital
"Thank u Doctor!"
He came out of Doctor Saxena's room with the file. He looked at the patient's name and took a deep breath, wondering how life has turned all upside down. He lifted his head and his eyes searched for 'him'. He knew he must be sitting somewhere alone and aloof from everyone. And then he found him.
Arjun was sitting on a bench at the end of the corridor looking aimlessly at the wall... the pain visible in his eyes but with no particular expression on his face... Rathor was there to support him as always. He walked up to him.
"It's time", Rathor said in a consoling tone to him, keeping his hand on his shoulder.
Arjun lifted his head and nodded to him. He had got a bag with some of 'her' clothes and necessary things. He held bag's straps and tried to get up. Rathor helped his friend to do that... after all he was in the hospital from past one week for 'her'... living on his cutting chai and sometimes a slice of bread... that too when he was forced...
Both walked up to her room and waited outside... Aisha came outside and looked at both of them. It was visible from their faces that they have lost their hopes.
"Discharge papers?" She asked.
"Hmmm", Rathor nodded his head.
"Wo theek hai?" Arjun asked in a faint voice.
Aisha looked at him... the tough cop was looking so drained out and exhausted. The strong impact of his voice was lost. She then looked at Rathor who wanted to know about 'her' too. Aisha nodded her head and gestured with her eyes.
'She' opened the door with a jerk and came outside wearing a pink kurti and jeans and gave a faint smile in their direction.
"Ready?" Aisha asked.
Roshni nodded. Arjun tried to move towards her but Rathor held his hand and stopped him. He wanted to talk to her but there was no use. Rathor came forward to the ladies.
"Let me drop u both."
Roshni and Arjun moved towards the bag at almost the same moment. But Roshni stopped him.
"It's ok sir! I'll get it"
That 'Sir' from her mouth was like a needle pricking his heart. He left the bag's strap and came back to his standing posture from his bent form... looking down at her trying to pick that bag up. Rathor and Aisha looked at each other as they very well knew that Roshni's statement must have hurt him. But then Roshni turned towards him and corrected herself.
"I mean...umm I am sorry main..."
"No it's... ok..." Arjun replied with the pain visible in his voice... because it was not at all ok.
They all sat in the SUV and drove towards Aisha's house. There was complete silence... but then they didn't have anything to talk to either. Roshni was gazing outside the window and Arjun was staring at her through the mirror. He couldn't help but think about that day when Rathor had called him and he got that news...
"Issi waqt City Hospital pahoch. Main b wahi ja raha hu "
"Lekin hua kya hai?"
"Roshni"
"Kya hua?"
He drove like a maniac and reached there as soon as he could. He wanted to meet her but was stopped by Rathor.
"Lekin mujhe usse milna hai"
"Tum abhi waha nhi ja sakte Arjun. Doctors use dekh rahe hai..."
After three long hours the doctor had come out of the OT. The operation was successful and Roshni was out of danger. Arjun was not able to express how happy and relieved he was but when she opened her eyes and refused to recognize any of them everybody was in for a major shock.
"I am sorry but I think it's a case of a retrograde amnesia..." Doctor Saxena continued guessing about their confusion, "Iska ek main cause head injuries hoti hai...aur jaisa ki aap dekh rahe hai aapki wife ki haalat... Kisi ne itni zor se inhe hit kiya hai ki yaha..." He explained them showing her brain's x-ray, "...yaha ye hissa damage ho gaya hai..."
"To kya use kuch b yaad nhi hai... Gia, main, hamari shaadi, Tani, Tashi... "
"I am afraid...aise cases mein kuch tym ki memory ekdum wipe out ho jaati hai...jaise patient ne kabhi life ka wo hissa jiya hi nhi...aap log unse baat kar k dekh sakte hai. Lekin accha hoga unhe kissi cheez k liye force na kare...aur haan unhe dheere dheere yaad dilaye. Saari memories agar ek saath un par pile up karenge toh... I mean...aap log samajh rahe hai na... "
She didn't remember what happened with her in the past few years... and that only included everything... her kids, her marriage and Arjun... She only remembered that she was going to join ETF. Marriage and kids - these are major milestones in one's life and Arjun guessed that he might strain her more telling all this. He had observed how she behaved when everyone was trying to talk to her. It kind of freaked her out and she was having a tough time handling them. Even Aisha had almost failed in convincing her that she was her friend and colleague but later on Rosh gave in to her and got comfortable with her. Aisha only introduced everyone to her as ETF team colleagues. And as she cannot stay with Arjun now, they were successful in convincing her to live at Aisha's place.
Rathor stopped the SUV at Aisha's place. The jerk brought him back to present where his wife has forgotten everything about him. All got down from SUV. Arjun got the bags and followed Rosh and Aisha along with Rathor.
"Ok...to hum chalte hai..." Rathor said.
Both turned to leave but then a voice stopped 'him'.
"Thank You"
She said this with the same cute smile she used to give him earlier. Arjun smiled for the first time in these few days. A small smile cropped up on his lips too.
"You're Welcome"

But I just want to say this is not a sad story...the flavour wud b the same as season 1 - ROM-COM...😳
