Chapter 17

Few moments ago

Rathor was sitting on a chair near the window with his hands on the table in front of him... his mind engrossed in some deep thoughts. Aisha came there with two cups of coffee. She knew he would be tensed because of Arjun and Roshni and then what happened at the breakfast table; he must be thinking of the need to pour out his thoughts to someone.

"Coffee!" She smiled.

Rathor snaps out from his thoughts and slightly smiles seeing her. He takes the coffee and sips it; then smiles at her meaning he likes it. She pulled out a chair for her in front of him.

"Aap yaha aise akele?"

"Hmmm aise hi... Tum..."

"Haan wo...Roshni mujhse baar-baar pooch rahi thi magar maine kuch bahana karke baat taal di... mujhe samajh hi nhi aaya use kya bolu...Aapki baat hui Arjun sir se?" [When getting no reply from him, she continued] "Aap aaj jo hua usko lekar pareshaan hai sir?"

[A moment of silence]

"Hmmm...Pata nhi sab kuch kab theek hoga Aisha! ... [pauses] Jab Arjun aur Roshni ek saath the, mujhe laga tha ab finally sab kuch theek hone wala hai... Aur hua b...[smiles] Gia, Tani-Tashi, Roshni... Arjun k paas waqt hi kaha tha kisi aur cheez k liye... gam chah kar b unki zindagi me nhi aa sakta tha... aur fir... ek jhatke me jaise sab badal gaya... Arjun k liye ye sab mushkil hota ja raha hai"

"Aap unhe hamesha sambhaalte hai sir... Is baar b sambhaal lenge... I know"

Both looked at each other. Aisha nodded her head as if assuring him. She hesitantly moved her hand and kept it on his. Rathor looked at it... he, who was almost on the verge of giving up, had now someone on his side that had full faith on him. He smiled looking at her. She had this amazing ability to ease him out of his worries. He moved his thumb and slightly pressed it on her hand. He wanted to thank her for always being on his side.

"Aish..."

"Sir! Sir!... Sir wo Roshni... Wo Arjun sir se... "

Shree jumped out of nowhere in the situation with something, but then his eyes curiously got glued to whatever was happening on the table. Both startled by his sudden entry immediately left each other's hand. Aisha quickly got up and started looking around. Rathor also avoided looking at her to save the situation and focused on Shree.

"Kya hua?" Rathor asked him.

Rathor's voice made him realize that he was there for something else "Sir wo actually Roshni kuch der pehle mere room me aayi thi, mujhse pooch rahi thi... baar baar force kar rahi thi sir wo..."

"Toh? Tumne use bata diya?" Aisha asked him surprisingly. She was still standing there hearing their conversation.

Shree : "Nhi... matlab haan... matlab bataya to hai... lekin..."

Rathor : "Lekin kya? Kya bola tumne use?"

Shree : "Sir... wo Anika aur Gia k bare me pooch rahi thi... fir Anika k bare me sun kar upset ho gayi aur chali gayi... Pata nhi use kya laga ..."

"Use lagta hai main aur Anika saath the..." The three then turn and see Arjun standing there.

"Matlab?" Rathor was confused.

Arjun told them what happened between him And Rosh few moments ago, also about her confusions and their new found friendship.

"... aur fir wo sone chali gayi..." He turned and looked at them.

They all were sitting in the sofa, looking at him strangely without any expressions on their faces. It was when Arjun called them once or twice that they came out of the shock. Where Shree was busy emptying the water bottle kept in front after that, Rathor and Aisha were busy grasping his words.

Rathor just threw his hands in air and slumped back in the sofa "Matlab... situation ab shayad isse to complicated nhi ho sakti..."

"Sir I swear... maine Rosh ko iss bare me kuch b nhi bola... hum log to bas aise hi..." Shree worriedly replied.

"I know Shree! Don't you worry about that... Roshni kaisi hai ye to hum sabhi jaante hai... kab kya soch le shayad wo b nhi jaanti... but agar hum log iska positive side dekhe to atleast ab baccho ko Roshni k saath zyada time spend karne ko milega..." He smiled.

Rathor walked upto him and kept his hand on his shoulder "Aur tum dono ka kya? Arjun! Tum iss sab se khush ho?"

"Pata nhi! Lekin main isse pareshaan ya tense nhi hu... I think it's for something good... aur Roshni khush hai Sam... "

"Aur tum?"

Arjun just smiles, wishes everyone night and goes to his room.

Next Morning

Everyone was getting ready as they had to attend the training session today. Everything seemed to be fine now... both Shree and Arjun... so Rathor thought that they could manage today.

Gia came running to Arjun.

Gia (looking at them) : "Papa! Aap log kaha ja rahe ho?"

Arjun (bent down on his knees, smiled) : "Duty par..."

Gia : "Lekin mujhe laga tha aap yaha hum sab se milne aaye ho..."

She pouted and went back in her room. Arjun couldn't help it. Of course training was an excuse to come to meet the kids but they had to do that also. He thought to make up for it once he comes back in the evening. They all came outside the house and were waiting near the SUV.

Rathor : "Roshni kaha hai?"

Arjun : "Main dekhta hu. Tum log chalo..."

Arjun searched for her... Maoushi told her that she was upstairs. He went up and saw her in Tani Tashi's room. Gia was also there. She was trying to cheer her up. Arjun stands near the door.

"Of course sab log tum sab se milne hi toh aaye hai ... ye toh thodhi der ka kaam hai... hum sab jaldi hi wapas aa jayenge..." Gia was still sitting with her hand folded across her chest just like her daddy. Roshni thought something and then went near her "... aur jayenge nhi toh ice cream kaise layenge..." She smiled.

Gia smiled back. She kissed her. Tani Tashi also giggled hearing ice cream, may be they understood about the treat. Arjun smiled hearing her ways to pamper the kids. He was happy that Roshni was mingling well with the kids.

After some time, Roshni came back and sit in the SUV with Arjun.

"Sorry! Late ho gaya... Baki sab chale gaye kya?"

"Haan!"

She just smiled and they drove away from there.

Both wanted to talk to each other - each with their own intentions... Arjun had got her with him after so many days and that's not just because he wants it but also because Roshni was willing to do that. On the other hand, Roshni was wondering how to progress in this new relationship with him since she didn't know him at all.

They used to steal glances at each other occasionally and just pass a small smile when being caught by the other one. They kept on doing that and soon they had reached there.

The training session was no different - usual stuff and all, in between a break and then followed by another session of training. Soon the day ended. It was almost evening and they were done for the day.

Shree came to Roshni "Rosh! Chal sab ghar chal rahe hai... baad mein nhi bolna ki poocha nhi..."

She smiled and then looked sideways at Arjun, who was standing at a distance "Actually main soch rahi thi ki Arjun sir k saath..."

Shree's face lighted hearing her. He quickly alternated the look between her and Arjun. He nodded and went outside with others. Arjun was putting the safety gears back in the locker... when it comes to his duty and all, everything used to take a back seat for him. He didn't even notice that Roshni was waiting for him.

After some time, Roshni herself approached him "Chalein?"

Arjun turned and surprised looked at her "Tum... Shree? [he looked around] Tum gayi nhi un logo k saath?" He had thought she would have left with Shree and others.

She just nodded her head in denial. She didn't know what to say. She was just seeking to talk to him, trying to know him better as a person... just wondering to develop a comfort level between him and her, so that its gets easy for both of them when any one of them is around the other... as from the day she had met him, there was some or the other strange event or encounter bound to happen. She didn't know what he knew about her or think of her but he surely had undergone a lot of changes when it comes to her thoughts about him.

"Nhi..." She then muttered. She didn't know him well... what if he feels that she is forcing herself into his life... what if he has some work and he is going to stay there for a while. Oh god! She cursed herself for refusing Shree's offer. She disappointed turned to leave.

"Give me five minutes" She turned startled at him ".. ye sab.." He pointed to the locker.

"Main bahar wait kar rahi hu..." She nodded happily
