Chapter 19

"GIA!! GIA!!" Arjun shouted from his room. He was packing his bag and wanted her to pick whatever important she wants to take with her "Kaha hai ye? GIAAA!!!" He shouted once more and got busy in putting things inside his bag.

"Kuch din aur ruk jaate... abhi to aaye the tum sab..." Maoushi entered the room and started folding his clothes. Her eyes were moist and it seemed she would cry any moment.

He sighed and gave her a side hug "Isiliye toh keh raha hu mere saath chalo... na aap akele rahoge na main... " He made her sit on the bed and knelt down in front of her "Yaha aap kiske liye rukengi... waha main hu, Roshni...[pauses]... b hai... bacche hai... hum sab k bina aap reh lengi?"

"Arre itni durr kaun jayega? Meri umar nhi dekh raha hai...Aur fir main tumhe takleef b toh nhi..."

"Maoushiii!" He covered her mouth with his hand "Kuch b bolti hai aap! Kisne kaha aapse ye... ya aajkal films wagerah zyada dekhne lagi hai... "

"Tumhe to pata hai main picture vikture akele nhi dekhti..." She pouted like a small kid.

He grinned and as if realizing something, "Arre aapko kahi ye to nhi lag raha na ki main aapko Mumbai le jaa kar old age homes me daal dunga..." Maoushi slightly smiled and showed him her hand making a gesture to slap him. He grinned some more "Toh fir?... Bas ab decided hai haan, aap hamare saath chal rahi hai... main Sam ko bol deta hu..." He picked his phone to his ear.

"Nhi nhi... abhi nhi..."

"Haan haan abhi hi... chaliye jaakar jaldi se packing kar lijiye... jaldi jaldi.." And he pushed her out of the room.

Maoushi left for her packing and Arjun got busy with his. He took a quick look at the things he had arranged on his bed "Hmmm... Ye sab theek hai... Tani Tashi ka almost ho gaya hai... baki Maoushi dekh lengi...ab bachi Gia..." He turned to the door and then again to the bed " lekin ye hai kaha..."

He heard the door opening within a few moments "Gia! Ghar nhi chalna hai kya?...Oh Roshni! Mujhe laga..."

He found Roshni smiling at him standing near the door. She seemed hesitant to enter the room.

"Please aao na!"

She smiled and slowly entered the room observing the mess he had created around the room. He noticed that and smiled. Roshni focused back on why was she there. She had a cute pink bag with her "Ye Gia ka bag... wo maine uski packing kar di hai..." She handed him the bag.

"Thanks!" Arjun smiled and then there was a moment of silence, just looking around, with Arjun standing with his hands in his pocket and Roshni playing with her duppatta. Suddenly Gia entered with one box "Papa papa ye b..."

Arjun looked at her and then that box "Gia? Kya hai yeh? Aur kitni der se bula raha hu na main..." He asked in a stern voice but not in a scary tone.

"Wo mere saath thi... packing k liye help kar rahi thi..." Roshni tries to save her "..Gia! Papa ko batao..."

"Kya?" She asked innocently.

"Arre yahi..." She flashes a quick smile to Arjun and then tries to signal Gia "...yahi ki..."

He was quick to figure out what Roshni was trying to do. He rolled his eyes "Ok ok main samajh gaya! Box me kya hai?"

Gia cutely smiled "Papa ye leke jaana hai please... aap rakh lo bas!" She thrusts the box in Roshni's hand so that she could handover it to Arjun and runs out of the room when Maoushi calls her.

Arjun nods his head and moves forward to take that box but his phone rings "Sam!"He puts the phone down and proceeds to take the box.

"Umm ye main rakh deti hu. Aap phone dekh lijiye..."

Arjun gave a quick smile to her and then got busy with the phone, moving towards the window. Roshni takes that box and put it on the bed. She smiles thinking about Gia and wondered what might be there inside it... her toys may be...she opens it...

"Dolls, dolls, playhouse,..." She smiled "...teddy, stuffed elephant... awwwiiieee how cute...then kitten, kitten... KITTEN!!!!" She shockingly dropped the box seeing what she found there. Two cute small kittens were lying one over the other, one black and the other white. They were too young, just 2-3 days old and were not able to even walk properly. She wondered where did Gia get it from...

"Kya hua?" Arjun might had heard her voice.

"Kuch... kuch nhi!" She stammered.

Arjun got busy with the call again. Roshni feared that Arjun might get angry seeing kittens there. She quickly tried to put the things back in the box so that she could take the box out of Arjun's sight but to her amazement, one of the kittens was missing.

"Fish! Where's the white one?"

She nervously looked around but didn't see it anywhere.

"Kuch dhoondh rahi ho?"

She shockingly turned and saw Arjun standing just behind her. He was done with the call and enquiringly looking at her. "Nhi to..." She quickly took the box also when he tried to pick that up "Ye main rakh dungi.."

"It's ok! I'll do that!" and he took that box.

"Nhi maine kaha na main kar lungi... waise b isme jo tha wo gir gaya hai. Let me pick that up." And she took that again.

"Ohhkkk! Then let me help!"

"No!... I mean... koi baat nhi..." She smiles.

Arjun weirdly looked at her, as he was just not getting her behavior. He moved out of her way so that she could do whatever she wanted to and went to the other side of the bed, to the cupboard. Roshni's eyes were still roaming everywhere in the room and then she noticed that little fellow just next to where Arjun was standing.

Roshni shouted all of a sudden "ARJUN!!!!"

"Kya?" He turned to her with a jerk and in the process sprained his neck "Ahhh!!!"

Roshni quickly picks one of his folded shirts from the bed and throws it on the kitten in order to cover it up. Arjun amazed looked at her. What is she upto? She then quickly rushes to Arjun. He had pain visible all over his face "Aap... aap theek ho?"

"Kya hua hai tumhe?"

"Kuch nhi! Sprain to aapko..."

"Main sprain ki baat nhi kar raha hu Roshni!... Pehle tum wo box mujhe nhi de rahi thi, ab mere kapdhe [looks down at his shirt] ... b yaha waha phek rahi ho... I mean ..." He enquiringly looks at her nodding his head.

She slightly smiles "Spray lau?"

"Waha drawer me hain shayad..." He nodded his head in total disbelief and then bends down to pick his shirt. "Nhi..." She quickly bends down and holds his hand just before it could reach the shirt. Both raise their head up and look at each other. Their eyes meet for a while.

"Kya hua?" Arjun asked a moment later.

"Haan?" Roshni snapped out and quickly left his hand. Both slowly got up and then she softly says "Aapko karne ki zarurat nhi. Aap..." She gestures him to sit on the bed and looks for the spray. Arjun smiles seeing that she cares for him. His eyes kept on looking at her, the way her wavy bouncy hairs oscillates from one side to another when she walks, the way she puts the disturbing hair lock behind her ear and the way she cutely pouts and then nods her head in negative to him when not able to find it.

"Chodho! Nhi mil raha toh..."

"Nhi nhi! Aise kaise chodho! Main dhoondhti hu. Wait!"

He smiles at her adamancy. Amidst this, his eyes fell on his shirt and he thinks why Roshni must have done this. He looks at her once and seeing her all busy in her search operation he bends down to pick it. As he picks it, he saw that cute little kitten hanging at the other end of the shirt, and struggling to be there.

"Mil gaya!" Roshni happily turned to him and was shocked to see that he had actually seen what she was trying to hide.

Few moments later

"All set?" Rathor enters the room but gets confused seeing the view in the room. Arjun was sitting with his head slightly tilted to his left, a shirt with a small withered area as if someone had pulled out a good number of thread from there and looking at Roshni and Gia with his knitted brows.

Roshni and Gia were just innocently looking at each other, each one holding one kitten each.

Rathor : "Kya ho raha hai yaha? Aur teri gardan ko kya hua Arjun?"

Arjun : "Pooch inse!" [slowly walked to them]

Roshni : "Main aap ko baad me bata deti... "

Arjun : "Baad me! Baad mein kab? Oh! You mean airport par haan?" [sarcastically]

Gia : "Lekin papa kitty kitni choti hai! Yaha unka khyal kaun rakhega!"

Arjun : "No Gia! Tumhari ye dono hi kitties hamare saath nhi aa rahi hai. Got it!"

Gia : "Lekin Kyu?"

Arjun : "Kyuki papa keh rahe hai! Aur waise b jagah b nhi hai..."

"Mere bag me..." Roshni excitedly spoke but then one glare from him and she was silent. "Gia ko pasand hai Arjun..." She hesitantly said.

"Papa please!"

"Enough! Ab iss bare me koi baat nhi karega...Na tum[looks at Gia] aur na tum[looks at Roshni]. Hum ek ghante me nikal rahe hai. Go get ready."

Gia stumps her foot and goes to her room sadly.

"Aap kitne kharab ho! Yahi baat pyaar se b to boli ja sakti thi na..."

"Ab tum mujhe blame kar rahi ho! Hum Gia ki kitties ko nhi le kar ja sakte... "

"I know! Main use samjha deti na... Uska mood off kar dia. Isiliye main aapko nhi bata rahi thi coz I knew aapse handle nhi hoga. Aap...Huh!" She too stumps her foot on the ground and walks out of the door.

Arjun annoyingly looked at Sam "I have sprained my neck lekin kisi ko uski fikar nhi hai. All they worry about is that little kitty..."

"Aur uska naam kitty nhi titli hai.." Roshni shouts from outside.

Arjun furiously takes a deep breath and then looks at Sam "Kya! Ab tujhe b kuch kehna hai?"

"Aur tu kehta hai ki main shaadi kyu nhi karta!"

"Shut up Sam!" [throws a pillow to his side]
