Chapter 14
"What? Girlfriend? Who told you?"
"Haan! Arre Arjun sir ne khud bola tha...kya naam tha uska ...haan Gia!!"
Aisha looked at her with a plain face and then burst out laughing. Aisha was wondering what was Roshni thinking when she said that to him. And Arjun he is no less too. He tried everything to maintain her confusion. Arjun's this side was only for Roshni and Rathor but today she at least got to hear about it.
Roshni gave her a confused look as if Aisha has gone mad.
"Kya hua? Bata na!"
Aisha controlled herself and then said "Gia unki girlfriend nhi, unki 10 saal ki beti hai... dumbo!"
Roshni was shocked.

Arjun picked Gia in his arms and took her to the lawn's swing. Gia had her arms wrapped around her papa's neck. He sat on the swing with Gia still in his arms.
"Bolo na Papa!" Gia spoke up on his shoulders.
He patted her back gently "Tumhe kyu lagta hai ki mumma ko kuch hua hai?"
Gia parted from him and shifted from his lap to the swing. She looked sideways up at him "Fir wo Sameer uncle aur Kaku kya baat kar rahe the?"
"Gia! Galat baat! Badho ki baat nhi sunte na! Kya baat kar rahe the waise?"
Gia apologetically looked at him and hesitatingly replied "..Yahi ki mumma shayad hamare paas nhi rahengi... aur unko kuch hua hai...aur..." She still had tears in her eyes.
"Aur kuch nhi..." He wiped her tears "Aur pehle toh ye rona band karo... Mumma ekdum theek hai aur abhi aaram se apne room me so rahi hai..."
"...toh fir chalo na mujhe milna hai.." She jumped from the swing excitedly and pulled his hand.
"Nhi abhi nhi! Tum pehle idher aao!" He made her sit at his side again and put his arms around her shoulder to pull her to him.
"Lekin kyu?" She pouted.
Arjun took a deep breath and looked at her "Gia! Papa ki ek help karogi? "
Gia confusingly looked at him "Hmmm" She nodded.

"Beti!" Roshni was shell shocked. "Lekin..." And then she realized the reason why Arjun was all smiles while they were having this conversation. OMG! It was so embarrassing. She covered her face with her both hands and found herself so stupid for acting like that.
"Fish! Aur Arjun sir... Meri misunderstanding clear karne ki jagah wo... Huh! He must be laughing at me now! " She pouted.
"Toh tumhe to khush hona chahiye apni new discovery par ki wo haste b hai" and she looks naughtily at Roshni.
Roshni looked at her but then gets her intentions "Bohot mazza aa raha hai hai na! Tum to waise b hamesha se sir ki side hi ho... Mujhe yaha ye tension ho rhi hai ki kal sir ko face kaise karungi!"
"Arre wo sab chodho aur yaha aake so jao! Kuch nhi hoga... sir to bhul b gaye honge..." And Aisha pulled the blanket.

Arjun was confused as in how to tell her everything so that the situation doesn't get out of control. He looked at Gia who was looking at him innocently. She moved closer to him and clutched his t-shirt... may be she sensed that something was bothering him. This gave him the courage to go on. He held her hand and spoke up after a brief moment of silence "Gia Mumma na... Mumma theek hai bas ek chotaaa sa problem ho gaya hai... "
"Matlab?"
"Umm matlab... matlab jaise hum log sab kaun hai na, unhe yaad hi nhi hai...I mean wo bhool gayi hai...aur..."
"Yaad nhi hai? Kyu?"
Arjun was trying to figure out the answer for her but she spoke up first "Toh fir hum unki revision classes' lete hai na..."
"Umm" He couldn't help but smile hearing her. The problem was so small for her that she had her solution ready at the next instant. "Ab yeh hai problem no 2 ki hum wo nhi kar sakte warna mummy ki tabiyat kharab ho sakti hai..."
She parted from him again "Fir... iska matlab Sameer uncle jo keh rahe the... "
"Ummm Haan... Lekin dekho fir mummy ko theek b to hona hai na...hum logo ko toh thodhi help karni padhegi..." He could judge by looking at Gia that she was going to cry. He moved his hand on her head "... Gia! Mummy bhooli zaroor hai but dekhna wo tum teeno se aaj b utna hi pyaar karti hai jitna pehle karti thi.." He pulled her again to him "...accha dekho wo time yaad hai na jab wo tumhari aunty thi aur main tumhara balloon wala uncle... hum log toh tab b kitna enjoy karte the...sab kuch tab b toh kitna accha tha..."
"Lekin mujhe aise hi zyada pasand tha..." She sobbed.
"Mujhe b..." He whispered slowly.
Arjun didn't know how to make her understand. It was difficult for him as well to stay away from Roshni but it was even more difficult to make the kids understand this. Tears brimmed in his eyes.

Roshni sat in front of the dressing table. She was combing her hairs but thinking about Arjun only... he was hell bent on confusing her from the day she had met him... first few days he was too caring, then he scolded her and while coming here he was so normal, so nice... but then what was that, that she saw in his eyes... and now this... he has a daughter... wow! ...And then realization stroked her...Just a minute...
"Beti! Wo married hai?" She turned to ask Aisha. But she had drifted to sleep by then. "Aisha!" She called her again but got no response. She thought to herself "Arjun sir ki beti hai... bt fir unki wife... aur fir wo Mumbai mein, family yaha Delhi me..." She walked to the room's balcony thinking about him. She felt the cool breeze on her body, looked up at the star studded sky and kept thinking about him.
"Strange fellow!... Sir k bare me sab kuch itna ajeeb sa kyu hai!...Aur aaj sir ko hua kya tha?... Wo pole ke paas... kuch to hai sir ki life ka panga..." She looked downwards, still in her thoughts and found Arjun sitting on the swing with a cute little girl. "Arjun sir!..."

He lifted her in his arms and walked in the lawn. He composed herself and said "Gia ab tum badhi ho rahi ho aur sab samajhne b lagi ho... Toh fir papa ki help karo na plz!"
"Lekin mujhe mumma k sath rehna hai..."
"Rahenge! I promise hum log sab saath me honge..bahot hi jald..Lekin kuch time baad! Mumma se pyaar karte ho na?"
"Hmmm"
"Toh bas! Hum log sab saath me koshish karenge aur sab theek ho jayega!... "
"Promise!"
"Promise!" Arjun smiled and pecked her hairs. He hugged her tightly "So jao!"
She kissed on her cheeks "I love you Papa!"
"Love u too!" And he patted her back to help her sleep.

Roshni overwhelmingly looked at them. She felt a feeling of sudden happiness seeing Arjun walking with Gia in his arms. She was wondering how many faces this man has. She kept on looking at them with a big smile on her face.
Arjun realized that Gia had slept. He looked at her and then thought of to take her to her room. Just then he sensed someone's gaze on him. He looked above and found Roshni happily looking at them. Roshni smiled looking at him. Arjun looked at Gia and then back at Roshni. He smiled back too and took Gia inside. He put her down carefully on the bed, pulled on the blanket on her, kissed her hair again and then closed the door behind him. He wanted to meet Tani Tashi as well but since they were sleeping with Maoushi and he didn't want to disturb her late night he decided to meet them tomorrow...he just peep in from the door, sends in flying kisses to them and comes back to his room.
Roshni smilingly comes back in her room and lie down on the bed. She thinks about Arjun and smiles "Cute!"
She smiles and switch off the lights
He too lie down on his bed but sleep was nowhere in his eyes. He was thinking about tomorrow...Tomorrow... One important day for all of them and he was just hoping that nothing goes bad.
