Chapter 10

Rathor and the rest were standing outside the den. Rathor was busy on the phone; he might be talking with Chotu or must be informing the Commissioner about the case. Arjun came outside and walked passed him.

"Arre Arjun! Kaha ja rahe ho?" He quickly cut the phone and informed him about Mili, "Chotu se baat ho gayi hai. Mili is in custody now."

Arjun doesn't reply and moved towards their SUVs. Rathor felt it strange and then noticed his bleeding hand. He quickly stopped him and checked out his hand "Ye kya hua?" He looked around for Roshni and asked again "Aur Roshni kaha hai?"

Just then they see Roshni coming out. Arjun doesn't reply and get his hand out of his. "Roshni aur Aisha ko ghar drop kar dena"

"Lekin tu kaha ja raha hai?" He noticed that Arjun was a bit disturbed. He quickly turned to Shree "Shree! Aisha aur Roshni ko ghar drop kar do." He looked at Aisha then "Aisha tum..."

Aisha just nods his head as she knew or has guessed what could have happened inside. Rathor stops Arjun from getting in the driver seat and then they both drove away from there. Shree quickly moved near Roshni and tried to make the heavy environment a bit lighter.

Shree : "Kya boss! Itna maarne ki kya zarurat thi? Bechare hamare Arjun sir!"

Roshni : "Wo bechare haan! Aur main...huh! Aur maine toh sirf sar par maara tha wo b andhere me, haath par toh unki khud ki wajah se..."

Shree (starts laughing) : "What! Abe main to mazaak kar raha tha, tune unko sach me maara?"

Aisha : "Stop it Shree! This is not funny. "

Shree : "Arre main to mood light karne ki koshish kar raha tha. Rathor sir k saath reh kar tum b bilkul unk jaise hoti ja rahi ho. Kabhi has b liya karo."

Roshni : "Aur fir Aisha, everything's fine too. See main bilkul theek hu. Yahi toh main kabse Arjun sir ko b samjhane ki koshish kar rahi thi lekin wo samjhe tab na!"

Aisha : "Fir b Roshni! Arjun sir sahi hai. Kuch ho jata toh!"

Shree : "Ok ladies! Ab Shree ki sawari aapke ghar ki taraf prasthan karne wali hai. Toh chale!"

Aisha, Shree and Rosh too left for home.

Soon Rathor drove Arjun to his place. He didn't want to leave him alone, that too when he seemed to be really disturbed. He wanted to talk with him and also wanted to tell his point of view regarding Roshni's matter. On the other side, Aisha and Roshni had reached home too. Aisha wanted to make Roshni understand Arjun's point of view.

Arjun was wrapping bandage around his hand. Rathor came near him and gave him his tea.

"Chot gehri to nhi?"

"Pata nhi! Main unk behavior se itna shocked thi ki dhyan hi nhi diya... lekin shayad cut badha hi hoga..." Roshni was a bit tensed at home.

"Tum b na!" Aisha shook her head. "Tumhe kya zarurat thi aisa karne ki. Kuch dino baad tumhe waise b permission mil jaati"

"I doubt that. Mujhe nhi lagta Arjun sir kabhi b mujhe allow karne wale hai... "

"Jo b ho! Tumhe mujhse jhooth nhi bolna chaiye tha. Hum sabhi ko tumhari fikar hai...Ye to accha hai waha Arjun sir the.."

Arjun was still tight lipped. Rathor silently sat near him so that to allow Arjun to make up his mind. He knew something was brewing in his mind, and that was yet to be discovered by him. After a long moment of silence, Arjun finally stated his thoughts that were troubling him.

Arjun : "Sam! Umm...Kya tujhe b lagta hai ki mujhe Roshni k saath aise behave nhi karna chahiye tha.."

Rathor : "Kaise? Aur mujhe b matlab? Aur kisse lagta hai?"

"Mujhe!" Arjun replied looking at him. The guilt was evident on his face. He told him what happened in that farmhouse and why his hand was bleeding. "Mujhe samajh nhi aa raha ki kya karu Sam! Na usk paas ja sakta hu, na durr reh sakta hu... Field se durr rakhne ki koshish ki toh b apni zidd nhi chodhi... I mean baccho ki tarah behave karti hai aur fir daant ne b nhi deti..."

Roshni annoyingly gets up from the bed, "Lekin Aisha wo b kabhi kabhi aise behave karti hai jaise main bacchi hu... I want to live life of an ETF officer...I mean I have lived but wo to mujhe yaad hi nhi hai na... "

"But he really cares for u...tum samajhti kyu nhi ho! Sir nhi chahte ki dobara tumhare saath kuch ho..."

"Lekin... unka behavior...kya kahu, ajeeb hai thodha..."

Rathor chuckles hearing him. Arjun annoyed looked at him "What is so funny? Has kyu raha hai?"

"Hasu nhi to aur kya karu! Tujhe wo baccho se kam nhi lagti aur mujhe tu..."

"Shut up Sam!"

"What! No I am serious. Agar wo apni zidd me hai toh tu apna attitude change kar, lekin nhi tu us par apne senior hone ka pressure banata hai, use orders deta hai, officer hote hue b use officer wala koi kaam nhi karne deta...Arjun, I know situation thodhi tricky..." Rathor corrects himself when getting a look from him "...sorry bohooot tricky hai but iss case me main Roshni se toh expect nhi kar sakta na...haan, lekin tujhse zarur kar sakta hu! Teri saari baatein main samjahta hu but tu b uska point of view samajh..."

"Kya samjhu? Tu kya chahta hai wo apni life ko lekar risk leti rahe aur main use kuch b na kahu! Lekin use jaise koi parwaah hi nhi hai. Kuch kaho toh kehti hai ki main ye sab kehne wala kaun hota hu...Ab aise mein mujhe sach me samajh nhi aata ki use kya jawaab du... "

"I know tujhe uski fikar hai lekin kissi ko b ajeeb lagega agar all of a sudden uska senior officer usme interest lene lage...I mean tu use bilkul b yaad nhi hai, aise me tera uski itni care karna...dekha jaye toh wo apne aap ko ek unmarried girl ki tarah hi dekhti hai.

Aur jo aaj usne kiya... Well think like this...agar kal ko main tujhe filed operations se durr rakhne lagu toh? Tujhe research desk par theories likhne k liye laga du toh?...Hum dono ne jin goals k saath is field me step in kiya tha aaj wahi Roshni khadhi hai... Wo team ka part ban kar cases me contribute karna chahti hai, fir chahe wo on-field ho ya off-field... Risk to hai hai...lekin Roshni is one trained officer. Aur ye sab risks toh fir hum sabki life ka part hai.."

He continued after a brief pause "I know tu itna b ignorant nhi ki ye sab tujhe dikha na ho...Pata tujhe sab hai bas tu ye sab accept karna nhi chahta... "

A long moment of silence prevails. Arjun slumps in the sofa thinking over what Rathor said. Of course he knew all this but he was just continuously pushing the thoughts at the back of his mind... he was allowing his emotions to overpower these thoughts... But today Rathor had made him think over it all over again...

Aisha takes a deep breath and makes her sit at the other end of bed, "OMG I can't believe main tujhe ye bata rahi hu" Roshni looked at her confusingly. Aisha quickly says "Ab ye mat poochna ki pehle kyu nhi kaha aur ab kyu keh rahi hu...!" She wanted to tell him what she had actually felt about Arjun on their first meet. Of course she wasn't able to tell the same thing to her earlier as he's Roshni's husband after all, but now she was telling her to make her understand Arjun's nature, "You know what, when I was new here, I hated him...literally...unki wajah se mera undercover operation almost fail ho gaya tha" She smiles and continues "I was so angry... I shouldn't say this but that time I was like...itna badha ego, he didn't even apologize to me. But fir baad me maine ye mission ETF team k saath hi complete kiya. In fact unhone mission par meri help b ki when I was at gun point. Dheere dheere unk saath kaam kark maine realize kiya ki he's not that bad, just a little anger and strictness...I think sabka apna nature hota hai aur unka aisa hi hai...

Agar tum thodha open mind se sochogi na toh tumhe b lagega ki Arjun sir k bare me itni jaldi koi rai banana galat hai...thodha sa time aur tum unhe pasand karne lagogi..." Roshni looks at her, confused at her words and she corrects herself, "...of course as ur senior..." she smiles.

Arjun was silent yet again.

"Ab kya hua? Sab theek ho jayega Arjun!"

"Shayad...shayad tu theek keh raha hai.." He faintly smiles, "Shayad main ye sab tere muh se hi sunne ka wait kar raha tha. Tune itna late kyu kiya? Maine ab sab bigadh diya hai... Mujhe toh lagta hai Roshni sabko pasand karti hogi, apne husband ko chodhkar..."

"Arre toh mujhe kya pata tha ki tu mera wait kar raha hai! Chal don't worry! Iska solution b nikal jayega! "

"Aaj pata nhi kyu I am missing my angels..."*sigh*

Rathor smiles "Kitna waqt ho gaya unhe dekhe hue...aakhiri baar jab Tani aur Tashi se mila tha toh I enjoyed their company...bas un dono ne wo ketchup meri aankho me na daala hota... " He starts laughing saying that.

Arjun starts laughing too hearing him. "Gia se bachpan se training jo mil rahi hai. Ye sab to karengi hi... Aur fir ek badhi acchi habit b hai...jo haath lagta hai seedha khidhki k bahar..." He had a wide smile on his face describing his cute angels' cute actions.

Rathor thinks for a while and then gets up in excitement "This is great! Hum log Delhi kyu nhi chalte baccho se milne."

"What? Tera dimaag kharab hai? Tani aur Tashi, well they can only mumble but Gia, milte hi Rosh k bare me poochegi..."

"Toh! Kabhi na kabhi toh ye sab karna hi hai...Roshni ko theek hone me pata nhi kitna waqt lage...tu un logo ko khud se aur Roshni se kab tak durr rakhega"

Arjun thinks something and then says "Lekin Roshni...use kya kahenge...wo aayegi hamare saath Delhi..."

Rathor thinks something to persuade Roshni. Just then, Rathor's cell rings. It was within Arjun's reach. He looks at the screen and sees Aisha's name flashing on it.

"Aisha tujhe kyu call kar rahi hai? Kahi Roshni..."

"Uffo! Itna samjhane ka kya faida jab tu abhi b tension le kar baitha hai. Ye shayad mere liye hoga..." Rathor immediately takes it from him. He had a cute smile on his face while doing that. He slowly moved away from him while talking on the phone. The conversation continued for some five minutes.

"Hmm that's good... Hmm nhi nhi tension wali koi baat nhi hai. Ok. Good night" He smiled and cut the phone. He turns and finds Arjun staring at him.

"Kya hua?"

"Aisha kya keh rahi thi?"

"Kuch nhi! Aise hi... Tere bare me pooch rahi thi. Usne Roshni ko b samjhaya hai..."

"Aur?"

"Bas...aur kya..." He walks back again to the hall "Yahi keh rahi thi aur kuch nhi...Wo Roshni ko lekar kabhi kabhi thodha pareshaan ho jati hai bas...Mujhse share kar leti hai." A smile unknowingly crops up on his lips.

"Ye kab hua?"

"Kya? Kuch nhi hua hai. Accha, maine use hamare Delhi jaane k bare me bataya hai. Kal tak koi na koi solution nikal jayega..."

Arjun notices something different in his friend but didn't say anything. He had some other issues lingering in his mind to take care of.
