Which Languages you would like to learn?

Hi Friends,

Some time back while having casual discussions in our forum,few members expressed interest to learn new languages from fellow IF friends,So keeping in view the interest,enthusiasm of our friends to learn new languages we thought of coming up with a Language Learning Thread in our forum.

In the language learning thread, all members will be able to learn new languages in which they are interested ,while at the same time can volunteer to teach others the languages they know.

The main purpose of this poll is

1)To know which languages members want to learn.There has been discussion about this till now and we came up with a list of about 15 languages-Indian as well as International.We would like to know your opinion about this.Vote for your language of interest

I could include only 10 languages in the poll,the remaining 5 I'm mentioning here,if your language of interest is among these 5,do mention it in your post,for these 5 languages I'll count the votes based on your posts.

Also if you want to learn some other language which is not in this 15 language list,do mention it in your post.If we have more members showing interest to learn the language you proposed n if volunteers are available we shall proceed with that.

Based on poll results and availability of volunteers the language which gets highest votes will be taught first and likewise others too..

2)Volunteers for teaching:Whoever wants to volunteer to teach a particular language,mention it in your post.

One member can volunteer for more than one language.We'll finalize the volunteers list later

If someone has volunteered for the language which you wanted to teach,No worries you can still volunteer for the same language.We are hoping to have names of 2 primary and 2 backup volunteers to teach particular language..This way we have good coverage

NOTE:

-One thing to make clear for all members-This lang thread is just basic language learning(basic words through which we can do day to day convo) and no way similar to how we learnt in school.

-Once we are done with the poll,we shall announce when volunteers for a particular language are required(keeping in view their time zone and free timings)

loved this thread...

well...i seriously wanna learn Tamil,French,Punjabi...in fact...all the languages you have mentioned...except Malayalam...bcz taht's my Mother Tongue...

Btw...I cn teach Malayalam...there are only 2-3 Malayalees in the forum..i think...

Nice thread sahasra di...to tell really i want to learn all the languages except my mother tongue.ok im being too ambitious.i want to learn marathi,tamil,french and malayalam.nd i can teach telugu. name-nandini languages would like to teach:telugu name for the thread:i dont have any idea di will think nd tell later. A doubt-should v tell the name for the entire thread or nly give a name related to the language v are going to learn.

Wow,volunteering for Telugu,I have got company now😊

Right now We are expecting Name for the entire language learning thread.

Naming of individual language classes-Those who are volunteering for that language can decide among themselves and come up with a name by the time their turn comes.

I would like to learn punjabi and marati..as i already knw telugu and hindi..if possible tamil too eventhough i can undstand very little
