Chapter I

Today is the festival of joy today is the festival of color... Today is "holi" gulaal was sitting on her apartment balcony ...watching kids in the street playing colors ?.she was nostalgic she remembered her childhood how enthusiaclly she use to celebrate this festival after all it was not only a festival for her it was the day wen she was welcomed in this world and her proud dad called her gulaal?..she was remembering her childhood memories and suddenly phone rang she came out of her thoughts she picked up and person on the other end said " doctor gulaal u r needed immediately...pateint in ward no 42 is critical."

Gulaal said call " Dr dushyant and Sister Jenny I m reaching there in 20 minutes "

And she picks up her keys and rushes to the door suddenly mirya her room partner asks " where are u going in haste "

Gulaal " hospital I need to go its an emergency

Mirya " par aaj to holi hai bahar bheed hai log rang denge tumhe

Gulaal " don't worry I will manage

Gulaal was heading to the hospital suddenly she saw a small group of young boys and girls playing colors and dancing on the tune of drums in the middle of the road she blew horn continuously but it didn't helped?.gulaal was getting late and so she came out of the car ...she asked some of them to make way and let her go but no one was listened the group was busy dancing on the drum beats ...she tried to get away ...but then someone put color on her white kurta was all coloured she was highly disgusted ..and in anger she pulled the person who put color ... the boy turn around his face was coloured with all possible colors of nature...gulaal could only see a two eyes staring at her and rest of his face was difficult to recognize...

she said angrily " y are u playing color"

boy said smiling " well we are meant to play the colour though I wanted to burst crackers but noone listened "

his reply agitated gulaal more she said "but y me I don't know u .we are stranger"

he said "holi hai aaj to dushman bhi dost ban jaate hai hum to sirf ajnabi hain

and with that he throws red color on gulaal she close her eyes and turns her face and color spills on her forehead ?.he smiles and started dancing again...she is furious she says "plz let me go its an emergency"

boy looked back

gulaal said " plz "

the group parted and make way gulaal walked away ...she came near to her car she looked back to the boy... their eyes met for a sec...and then gulaal sat and drive away ... the boy was standing still watching the car slowly disappearing someone from the group shouted kesar and kesar looked back...

in the hospital

after 2 hrs gulaaal came out of the operation theatre and console patient's wife " ab apko darne k jaruroot nahi hai who kahtre se bahar hai"

Dr dushyant came after her and said to gulaal it was very tough but u performed very well u always make me proud

Gulaal said "yeh sab aapki seekh aur aapke guidance k naatiza hai aapke bina mein itna bada operation kabhi nahi kar paati aur phir patient k saath duayein bhi to thi aaj laga sahyad kiski dua kaam aa gayi "

Dushyant " to coffee peene chale "

Gulaal phir kabhi abhi to mein pure colors mein rangi hui hu pehle ise saaf karlu

And then gulaal takes a leave

Suddenly there is knock at the door she comes out of her washroom and see a handsome guy in white kurta standing outside her cabin and similing at her

Gulaal looked and smiled back and said "kya kaam hain aapko"

Vasant " ji doctor mujhe aajkal need nahi aati hai kiska chehra din raat pershan karta rehta hai har samay bus usi se baat karne ka man karta hai "

Gulaal said kaun hai woh

Vasant came close and said "tum

gulaal "kanhi aapko pyaar to nahi ho gaya

vasant " pyaar 1 saal pehle hua tha syptoms abhi bhi waise hi hai kuch improvement nahi hai "

Gulaal " bechare tum u need a hug she hugs him tightly and say happy holi

Vasant putcolour very gently on her face and say happy holi and happy bday "

She hugs him back and says yeh to indian calendar k hisab se hai u know mera bday nikal gaya hai

She said tum yanha itni subah kaise

Vasant: aaj mein sabse pehle tumhare saath holi khelna chahta tha isliye subah se hi hospital mein hoon agar kesar ko mil jaata to phir to mere saath woh rang panchami tak holi khelta chodta hi nahi mujhe ... bilkul pagal hai

Gulaal smiles as she knows kesar is everything to vasant his eyes shines when he talks about him gulaal has heard his same talks alteast 100 times... how he and kesar are very close they are like one soul in two bodies he is his dream his desire his happiness...somehow gulaal is never bored with his topic she loves to hear more as vasant's happiness is widest wen he talks about kesar...

Vasant " bahut jaldi" and then looks at her forehead and says "yeh sindoor kanha se lagva liya "

Gulaal : yeh sindoor nahi gulaal k rang hai raaste mein kuch log holi khel rahe the unme se kissi ne yeh rang daal diya..itne baar saaf kiya hai par jaa hi nahi raha

Vasant smiled and said : kuch rang bahut pacche hote hai..hume itne asaani se nahi chodte

gulaal nods her head remembering the boy she met at morning

But Vasant saw him and asked "kesuda kanha gayab ho gaya tu tujhe pata hai aaj tujhe gulaal k ghar par hona tha sab intzaar kar rahe the "

Next morning he meets sonu and Vicky in college

Vicky said " jaane de yaar hum itne bade Mumbai shahar mei kanha dhoodhenge use"

Kesar "Vicky tu mujhe yeh mat bata k tum log ek ladki ko Mumbai saher mein nahi dhoodh sakte ??..i told u I want that girl and I m damm serious"

And he leaves the place in anger

Sonu said to Vicky " chal dhoondhte hai use nahi to tu janta hai kesar ko woh chain se nahi rehne dega"

Kesar is sitting in cateen and his grlfrn tiya comes and hug him

Kesar doesn't react

Tiya complains him "mujhe hamesha se lagta hai u don't love me"

Kesar is irritated he said "tiya plz don't waste my time I m not interested in your talks"

Tiya looks at him he looks disgusted and then she decides to take a leave

Kesar returns home and panba informs him that she had talked to punditji engagement 2 days baad hai

Kesar smiles and said "yeh to bahut acchi baat hai"

Though he was suppose to be the happiest person as his vasantbha is getting engaged but he was disturbed with the incident that took place yesterday and now he only wanted take his revenge

Vasant see kesar and said" kyu khush nahi lag raha "

Kesar "nahi vasant bha bus college ki thakan jyada hai but don't worry aapki sagai mein koi kasar nahi chodunga"

Kesar goes to his room and sleeps

Next day he wakes he receives a call

Vicky" kesar hume ladki mil gayi hai"

Kesar said" kanha "

Vicky gives him the address" worli k busstop k pass waali street mein aa jaa"

Kesar reaches there

Vicky said "pata laga liya hai who ladki kabhi kabhi is jagah se aati jaati hai?? kal thek 10 baje yanhi se gujari thi aaj bhi aati hogi"

It was 9:45 and Kesar was sitting on the bonnet of the car and rest of his frn were in bike

At 10 am gulaal arrives and kesar's frn stops her they drive their motorcycle in the circle not letting gulaal go

Gulaal is conscious she looked tensed she was nervous y these bikeriders have stopped her she was scared but still in the determined way she asked "yeh kya ho raha hai"

"Aapka intzaar" said kesar who was sitting on the bonnet comes down gulaal looks at him and recognize him ??she looks at him with anger

kesar walks towards her and soon enters the circle and stands right infront of her

gulaal "yeh kya batamizi hai"

kesar "kyu batimizi karne ka licence sirf tumhare pass hai"

gulaal" raasta chodo"

kesar "nahi madam itne asani se nahi kal tumne bina baat par thapad maara tha ?.tumhari frn galat direction mein thi aur tumne phir bhi mujhe thapad maara mujhe bina baat par thapad khaana pasand nahi hai"

gulaal "galat tum the"

kesar "who r u to decide ki mein galat that ya tum aur mujhe thapad marne k right tumhe kisne diya now apologize aur jao"

gulaal" nahi"

kesar looks strainght in her eyes and said" 2 min deta hun sorry kaho aur chupchap chali jao nahi to"

gulaal replies back "2 min deti hun mera raasta chodo nahi to is baar use bhi tez thapad padega"

kesar "oh I m so scared "and he smiles sarcastly

Bikeriders continue to move in the circle and kesar looks at her wating for 2 min to get over gulaal was anxious nervous angry furious at the same time

Then vicky saw his college principal coming

He rushes to kesar and said "kesar isko baad mein dekhenge princy aa raha hai pakad liya to probs ho jaayegi"

kesar doesn't pay attention the bikeriders drives leave the place and sonu and Vicky takes kesar with them

kesar walks away from gulaal and gave a angry look back he drives the car come near her and points at her as if saying" I m keeping eye on u "

gulaal was already furios and angry with this sort of humilition

gulaal rushes to hospital she was very angry about all the incident that has took place and then she saw mirya she walks towards her and said " tum theek hona ab dard kaisa hai"

mirya" hain mein ab theek hun"

gulaal "mirya chal hum us ladke ki police complaint kar dete hai"

mirya" tu paagal hai kya us ladke k galati nahi hai mein wrong direction se chala rahi thi tune usko jabardasti maar diya"

gulaal " he deserves it tujhe pata hai aaj us ladke ne mera raasta roka mujhe sorry bolne k liye kah raha tha yeh koi tareeka hai baat karne ka I really hate that boy dubara saamne aayega to phir peetega"

mirya " tu chod usko ab agar pareshan kare to kar dena report aur tu apni engagement ceremony k tayaari kar shaam ko jaana hai na modi house mein jam kar tayyari kar"

kesar come back home with his friend vasantbha say "oye meri engagement mien mehmaan banke aana hai kya abe yaar abhi se meri market vakue down kar di mein hone waala dulha hun kuch to izzat rakho"

kesar "vasantbha kya aap bhi hum Mumbai k sabse mast DJ lane gaye the hume pata hai aapki engagement hai ise bahut ache se manayenge" and he signals his friend to keep queit

kesar and his frn come to his room

kesar "abhi us ladki ko bhul jao aj vasantbha k sagai hai baad mein dekhenge use"

kesar and his frn get involve in the engagement preparation

in the evening modi house is decorated with the most lavish flowers and light ?..there are wide variety of snack foods and drinks

best DJ is called from Mumbai and everyone is dancing and enjoying themselves

kesar comes in vasantbha room "he say yeh aapki sherwaani meine select ki hai"

kesar "ofcourse waise vasantbha abhi bhi time hai bhaag jaiye"

vasant says "tujhe kya pata shaadi kitne achi cheez hoti hai ?..hume ek jeevansathi k saath milta hai uske saath hume apni puri zindagi jeene ka mauka milta hai tu jab bada ho jayega tab tere liye bhi gulaal jaise dhoondh kar launga"

kesar "kyu..muje kyu shaadi k chakkar mein fasana chahete ho ab u don't need to marry to eat an apple "he says naughtly

vasant taps his head "acha bachu bahut bigad gaya hai "

kesar and vasant climb down the stairs kesar in white sherwani and vasant in black sherwani both are looking dashing and handsome

kesar takes panba ramanbha sudhabhabhi vasantbha to dance floor and make everyone dance

all were dancing then guard come inside and ask vasantbha to comeoutside as his guest have arrived

kesar who was dancing saw vasantbha leaving ask guard "what happened"

guard said" gulaal aur unka parivaar aa gaya hai"

kesar is very happy finaaly he is going to meet vasantbha choice and a newest member of his family he runs outside he see there are two car standing outside his gate

from first car poonam and reva came out vasant came near to them and touches their feet and start talking to them

kesar see in the second car there are three girls two of them were wearing western clothes and third one was in traditional dress she opened the door of the car and was managing her lehenga looking downwards...kesar looks at vasant and vasant nods his head saying ya that's gulaal

kesar eagerly rushes to the car

gulaal was manging her precious and heavy lehenga her head was down kesar looks at her and gives his hand and say "welcome meri duniya mein aapka swagat hai"

gulaal hold his hand and raise her head

gulaal and kesar are surprised and shocked to see each other they were holding hands sec back and with the stroke they took their hand back...they look at each other angrily

kesar and gulaal are about to say something to each other

vasant comes in between..."kesar yeh hai gulaal... gulaal yeh hai kesar"

kesar and gulaal didn't speak anything the just watched vasant in disbelief

vasant looks at them and say " kya hua tum dono mil kar khush nahi huye"

kesar and gulaal coldy smiled towards each other

kesar said" vasantbha mein chalta hun ander kaam hai"

gulaal almost nervous is still trying to hold her breath

gulaal and vasant walks inside together

panba welcome gulaal and vasant with aarti

soon both of them sit for the ring ceremony

kesar is standing in the corner silently Vicky and sonu came to him and said "arey yaar yeh ladki toh..."

kesar looks at them angrily and decides to leave

kesar climbs the stair and see the whole event from the corridor

vasant and gulaal put engagement ring in each other finger vasant is happy gulaal is happy but nervous too... for a sec she looks up she see kesar standing and staring her from the corridor their eyes met and they withdraw quickly

kesar went in his room and told his servant "if anyone inquires about him tell him that he has an headache so he is sleeping"

The ceremony is over gulaal and her family takes leave...

Chapter 5

next day panba calls pundit pundit say the marriage ceremony can be held within a week span ??panba calls poonam

poonam request panba to let marriage ceremony take placee thorugh Bengali culture and tradition?.as gulaal was their only daughter they wanted to bid farewell with their tradition ?panba who was a mother herself agrees ?.

wedding preparation started in both houses ???best wedding planner, caterer jewellers, fashion designers were hired 200 guest were invited to grace the occassion?.gulaal and vasant invited dushaynt ?but he made an excuse as he had valid reason to do so?.one more person was unhappy with this marriage?.kesar

its mehendi night everyone is in gulaal's house except kesar?.. kesar is sitting on the edge of mountain cliff with sonu and Vicky his car is parked beside they are drinking beer and munching patoto chips

sonu said "yeh kya ho gaya yaar tu ab tu kya karega"

kesar is quiet he throws stone aimlessly

Vicky" jiski shakal ek min bhi nahi dekhi jaati use zindagi bhar jhelna hoga "

Sonu" wo teri bhabhi ban kar aa rahi hai "

Kesar still throws stone

Sonu is frustrated "arey to kya kar raha hai yaar patthar kyu phekh raha hai"

Kesar" to kya karu tum dono ko uthaa kar phek du"

Sonu "par hum to"

Kesar" dekh beer peeni hai beer pi, chips khane chips kha dimaag mat kha"

Tiya calls kesar

Kesar picks phone "haan bolo"

Tiya asked "longdrive par chale icecream khaane"

Kesar "nahi jaana agar tumhe beer peene ho to aa sakti ho"

Tiya "what"

Kesar puts the phone

Vasant calls him

Kesar "ji vasantbha"

Vasant "kanha hai tu "

Kesar "mein frn k saath hun"

Vasant" par aaj mehendi k rasm hai na hum sab gulaal k yanha hai"

Kesar " par mein kya karunga waha mujhe mehendi to nahi lagegi aap jao"

Vasant "chupchap aja samjha"

Vasant ends the call

Kesar said "sonu aur Vicky chal uske ghar jaana hai"

Sonu "par hum log kyu chale"

Kesar said angrily "joute khane ho to bakwaas kar"

Vicky said to sonu "chal sonu?.. bhai bahut tension mein hai"

Vasant is sitting next to gulaal??gulaal is wearing a green lehenga a beautician is putting mehendi on her hand

Vasant is little tensed

Gulaal" kya hua "

Vasant "kesar khush nahi lag raha hai"

Gulaal know y but still ignored and said "nahi aisa kuch nahi hai abhi naya naya rishta banene jaa raha hai ishayad islye thodha akward feel kar raha ho"

Vasant "mein kesar ko janta hun who bahut asani se logo se ghul mil jaata hai pat nahi abhi kya ho gaya hai "

Girls who were dancing on wedding songs asked gulaal to dance with them

Gulaal refused But girls forces and takes her

Gulaal starts dancing and soon she is lost in her dance she dance really fast suddenly she slip and falls in arm of kesar who has recently entered her house Kesar and gulaal looked at each other and then kesar saw his white shirt?its imprinted with gulaal mehendi?he can see the two hand imprints in his shirt gulaal saw the imprint and then looked at her menhendi its completely ruined she is disappointed ...and kesar is disgusted

one of the elder woman said yeh to bahut bura hua mehendi ko bigadana nahi chahiye

Kesar doesn't say a word and leave

Vasant looks at gulaal who is in tears as her mehendi is spoiled?..vasant said koi baat nahi jab tak mein hu darne k jarurat nahi

At night gulaal is looking at her mehendi that is completely spoilt and vasant name is erased from her hand

Mirya comes to her and say " I know tum kya soch rahe ho "

Gulaal "kya"

Mirya "kesar k bare mein "

Gulaal "nahi ?mein nahi soch rahi?.. though she was thinking about kesar and her first meeting ??she continued kesar k bare mein kuch nahi sochna ? mein us baat ko bhul jaana chahti hun "

Mirya " par kya kesar bhul jayega"

This question really bothers gulaal but.she was blank at the moment...

Kesar was standing in the terrace quietly looking at sky vasant came there

Vasant said kesar "kya baat hai tum chup kyu ho"

Kesar quickly changes his mood "arey vasantbha mujhe nahi aapko chup rehene k practice karni chahiye shaadi aapki ho rahi hai"

Vasant smiles "sach baata koi baat nahi hai"

Kesar ofcourse vasantbha bus ajkal sab itna jaldi jaldi ho raha hai isliye fursat nahi mil rahi??ap to groom ho saara kaam mujhse karavaya jaata haina bas thodhe se thakan hai

Vasant is convinced kesar is unhappy but he cant hurt vasant so he is pretending to be happy

It's a wedding day and diaba jamuna kaki gigak devika have arrived from talsagra

Vasant and panba greets diaba and touches her feet

Diaba said to vasant "kyu re vasant tujhe shaadi karni thi to mujhe batata mein talsagra k ladkiyon k line lagwa deti "

Vasant and panba were embarrassed as they knew intercaste marriage is not easily accepted??vasant was about to say something but kesar intervene

Diaba " apko line lagana hai to mere peeche lagayi jitney ladkiyon se kaho utni se shaadi kar lunga I don't mind " and then touches her feet and hug her tightly

Kesar is youngest family member and everyone loves him dearly

Diaba "ladki bengali hai"

Kesar "acha to hai hubby gujarati bolege aur biwi Bengali dono ko kuch samajh nahi aayega aur jhagda bhi nahi hoga"

Jamuna kaki says in between "par humare khandan mein kabhi prem vivaah nahi hua humare yanha bado k kehna mana janta hai??? shaadi se pehle ladka aur ladki ek dusare ko dekhte bhi nahi hai?..hamesha se aisa ho raha hai yanha tak devika ki sagai bhi humne kar di aur abhi tak ladka aur ladki ek dusare ko jaante bhi nahi hai"

Kesar said "aur jamuna kaki devika ko dikhana bhi nahi ?..nahi to ladka kabhi talsagra nahi aayega?? kyu gigaka mein theek kah raha hoona"

Gigaka laughed as he understood what kesar actually wanted to say ?.and somewhat jamuna kaki also got the hint so she decided to keep quiet as its difficult to deal with kesar

Devika hears what kesar said and say "acha mujhe dekh kar bhaag jayega abhi batati hu tujhe" and she runs after him

Everyone laughs and get back to their work

Kesar unwillingly attends all pre wedding function like haldi rasm and pagdi rasm of vasant

In eveining vasant is dressed up in a bengali attire and other family member dressup in the best attire and journey to gulaal's house where the wedding is gonna take place?..kesar rewa devika dances crazily and burst crackers everyone is happy and vasant is happiest of all

The baraat arrives at bride's home. As they arrive, the younger members of the bride's family barricade the entrance to the venue, demanding money from the vasant in return for allowing him to enter. There is a bargaining between groom and the bride's family members on the amount of money of the admission.

Gulaal on the other hand is getting ready she is looking extremely beautiful in red banarasi saree The veil covers her hair and the mukut is placed on her head. Her friends and close relatives trace the design of the mukut with the help of chandan paste.

Vasant comes in the mandap he take off his mojiris outside the mandap

Rewa ask kesar to keep eye on mojiri

Kesar is confused he asked "kyu"

Rewa said " mojiri chori ho sakti hai"

Kesar said "to pehle batana tha na mein slipper pehen k aata ab mein kya karu"

Rewa reply " teri mojiri nahi idiot vasantbha ki ??gulaal bhabhi k sister chura sakti hain?? rasm hoti hai"

Kesar understood he take off his moiri as well next to vasant mojiri

Gulaal sister came in the mandap they see kesar and one of the girl starts flirting with kesar ?.kesar also talks to her in cheerful manner

Rest of the girl goes to steal vasant mojiri and in confusion picks kesar mojiri?.

Kesar looks at his mojiri and runs after the girl saying" yeh meri mojiri hai "but girls could not listen him in such loud music

Gulaal is waiting in her room infront of dressing table ?.. poonam enters and ask gulaal to cover her face with beetel leaf

Gulaal asked "kyu maa"

Poonam replied "kyunki ab tumhara chehra sabse pehle tumhara dulha dekhega"

Here gulaal sister enters her room and hides kesar's mojiri

Gulaal looks at them smile and then hide her face with beetel leaf

Suddenly door open with a bang

Gulaal uncover her face???.truns around and see kesar is standing ?.

Kesar has come there in search of his mojiri he stares gulaal and both are uneasy to see each other

Kesar walks away??and gulaal is still disturbed as its kesar is first person to see her ?.

Gulaal frns and brothers enter her room for saat paak and maala badal ceremony

Kesar is still searching his mojiri bare footed

Finally gulaal and vasant are in the mandap gulaal is seated in lower wooden stool taken by brother and she performs seven pheras around vasant

Afterwards vasant and gulaal are get ready for mala badal

Kesar who gave up his search for his mojiri looks at vasant mojiri and he reaches the mandap and the moment vasant and gulaal exchanged garland of flower... kesar steps into vasant mojiri and walks away

Chapter 6

Kesar was disgusted ,running and searching for his mojiri he left the mandap Vicky and sonu accompanied him

kesar asked " beer kanha hai"

Sonu "nahi la paya vasantbha ne kaha agar aaj beer peeyenge to jote padenge"

Kesar" kya tujhse kuch kaam nahi hota idiot ek to sab itna boring hai upar se hum vasantbha k marriage beer bhi nahi pee sakte"

Vickys said " kya kare"

Kesar said " chal chal k Bengali sandesh khaate hain"

And they headed towards food stall...and in mandap vasant and gulaal exchanged garlands and amidst the chanting by priest , vasant held gulaal's hand and both walked around the scared fire. The elder member standing around showered wih rose petals and after all rituals were performed , pundit declared vasant and gulaal man and wife

After marriage ceremony is performed gulaal sister came and asked money in exchange of vasant mojiri

Vasant asked them to give his mojiri

Gulaal sister came with the mojiri

Vasant was surprised and he said "yeh meri mojiri nahi hai "

Rewa asked" phir vasantbha k mojiri kanha hai"

Kesar came and said "yanha hai meine pehene hai kya karu yeh log meri mojiri lekar bhaag gaye"

Everyone laughed at this situation

Gulaal sisters were embarrassed but still they demanded to kesar " to tum paise de do"

Kesar said "kyu"

Gulaal sister said "nahi to koi ek yanha se bina jute k jaayege"

Kesar replied naughtily "jab mojiri ki rasm mujse karni hai to phir dulhan bhi mujhe hi de do "

He looked to vasantbha "kyu vasantbha theek hai na"

Vasantbha laughed and vasant didnt want to upset gulaal sister he gave them money in exchange of kesar's mojiri and said" kesar mein paisa abhi de deta hunt u apni dulhan baad mein aake le Jana kya pata teri dulhan yanhi kahi ho"

And they saw gulaal climbing down the stairs with her friends

Kesar was tired attending the functions.. ..so he decided to go home Vicky and sonu accompany them they went home and sleep he woke after sometime and deicided to go for a IPL match...

After sometime there is bidaai and gulaal bids farewell its mixed moment of joy and sorrow as gulaal is bid adieu with blessings of her parents and relatives to start a new life with her vasant

Gulaal sit in car vasant takes the blessing of poonam and revji he sit with gulaal he console her all the way

Gulaal and vasant reached their home...panba is exited she did aarti and let the newly wed couple come in

Gulaal looked at her home she was very happy to be part of this family

All relative and frns surrounded vasant and gulaal

Vasant and gulaal were happy it was the most happy day of their life

Panba asked vasant and gulaal to perform the post marriage ceremony...

Every member was happy they are talking singing dancing cracking jokes with gulaal and vasant...But one member was missing... kesar

Soon panba asked vasant "kesar kanha hai"

Vasant said " mujhe nahi pata baa mobile switch off hai"

Panba said "yeh ladka kabhi nahi sudherega yanha itne saari rasam karni hai?devar ko god mein beithna hai..aur us pagal ka kanhi pata nahi

Kesar came late in the evening, he was exited as his fav team won

Vasant asked "kanha gaya tha"

Kesar " IPL match dekhne aur pata Mumbai Indians jeet gayi "

Vasant first cheerfully "jeet gayi ".then angrily said "par tu yanha kyu nahi tha sab tujhe puch rahe the"

Kesar replied "common vasantbha apki shaadi mein mei kyu guest of honor bana hua hun"

Vasant pulled his ear and said" ab jab tak saari rasm nahi ho jaati yanhi rehna hoga" and he took his cell

Kesar said "par cell to waapas karo"

Vasant left and kesar turned back gulaal is sitting with everyone for a sec they looked at each other and then looked in different direction ?.then.kesar went in his room

At night rewa and devika took gulaal to vasant room...the room was decorated with orchids and roses the lights were put to dim and room was filled with rose fragrance gulaal sat on the bed full of roses she was looking like a rose amoung the rose...she was looking as beautiful as blazing sunset , as innocent as a dewdrop, as shy as a moonlight in cloudy night

Vasant entered his room and close the door

Gulaal was nervous her heartbeat accelerated vasant slowly moved towards her he came close to her sat beside her

He looked at her...she was looking gorgeous in pink saree

Vasant complimented " bahut sundar lag rahi ho"

Gulaal in soft voice said " vasant agar bura nahi mane to ek baat kahu"

Vasant said "bolo"

Gulaal said " humare tradition k hisaab se aaj kalraatri hai aj bride and groom alag room mein rehte hai...aaj k din humara saath mein hona ashubh hai"

Vasant remained silent for a moment and asked "kya tum in sambe mein belive karti ho"

Gulaal said" haa mujhe apne culture aur tradition par pura vishwaas hai yeh humare married life k liye essential hai"

Vasant didnt said anything and took his blanket and decided to leave

Gulaal held vasant hands and said "tum udhaas ho"

Vasant held her and kissed her forehead and said "mujhe tumhare vishwass par pura bharosa hai...to kya hua hum aj saath nahi hai hume to saari life ek dusare k saath rehna hai"

Gulaal smiled and said" goodnight"

Vasant smiled back and said "goodnight gulaal"

Vasant entered kesar room...kesar was sleeping vasant woke him and asked him to make a space

Kesar opened his eye and was suprised to see him...he asked "vasantbha aap yanha kya kar rahe ho"

And then naughtly said" kyu biwi ne pehle hi raat room se bahar nikal diya"

Vasant pat his head and said" aisa kuch nahi unke tradition ke hisab se bride aur groom ek room aj share nahi karte"

Kesar in disbelief said" aur apne ne unke baat maan li"

Vasant didn't said a word and kesar bursted in laugh

Vasant said in authoratively " tu yeh baat kisko nahi kehega"

Kesar with naughty smile said " u wish bhai"

Vasant smiled and said "kesar"

He took a pillow and starts hitting him and both started fighting tickling laughing and then went to sleep

Gulaal woke early in the morning she did her pooja and then went to kitchen panba came behind her

Gulaal touched her feet and seeked ashirwaad

Panba said "khush raho par abhi kitchen mei kya kar rahi ho"

Gulaal replied "sabke k liye chai banana thi"

Panba said "haan baba bana lena par abhi nahi sab uth jaye phir rasoi k pooja hogi aur tum sabke k liye khana banaugi yeh rasm hoti hai"

Gulaal nod her head

Then panba asked "aaj to pagphera bhi haina tumhare ghar se kaun aayega tumhe lene"

Gulaal said cousin "brother aayega mujhe lene pehle rosai k rasm karlu phir pagphera k rasam kar leti hu"

Rewa came and said " tab tak vasantbha ko chai do de aayiye"

Vasant got up early and he went to his room and searched gulaal

Gulaal came and gave him tea

Vasnt hold her and gave a goodmorning kiss and said" so madam ab to kaalratri khatam ho gayi hai"

Gulaal in naughty way replied" par ab mein jaa rahi hun"

Vasant is surprised he asked" kanha jaa rahi ho"

Gulaal "apne ghar 2 din k liye pag phera k rasm hai"

Vasant said "yeh to cheating hai tumne mujhe bataya bhi nahi"

Gulaal laughed"tsk tsk tsl and came out of her room"

Elder ladies and children weregathered in the kitchen for the rasoi rasm

Kesar also wokes he was not allowed to go outside so he was sitting lesuirely in dinnig area in black waist and shorts he was reading some mssg in his phone

Gulaal started the rasoi rasm she put swastik on the gas stove and she performed aarti

Panba asked her to make a sweet dish and any other dish acoording to her like or any other family member demand

Sunny, sudha bhabhi's son said in between" aloo k paratha"

Rewa said "pulao"

Devika also accompanied them she said" paneer mutter k sabzi"

Kesar was hearing all the conversation uninterestingly...he was busy sending sms

Gulaal is happy she said "haan sab bana dungi mujhe aata hai"

Sunny said "to kya samosa bhi banana aata hai"

Gulaal said haan

Rewa looked at "kesar tu bhi kuch demand karde bata tujhe kya khana hai"

Kesar who is still looking at the mssg says and without looking at her said coldly "how about Chilaquiles verdes con pollo, crepes and falafel

Gulaal is surprised she looked at kesar who was still looking in his cell phone.. she had never tasted these dishes...infact she has never heard of these dishes..

Kesar raise his head looked at gulaal smircked and said "never mind"

He then left...gulaal was confused she kept wondering weather kesar really loved this dishes or he has said it to embarass her

Gulaal cooked food and served to the family member

Everyone was delighted..diaba and panba gave her compliment that's best food they have tasted

Everyone was there but kesar was in his room as he was not comfortable with the new member

After lunch everyone gave gulaal their blessing and gifts

Gulaal and vasant ate together meanwhile her cousin came for pagphera rasam

She packed her bag vasant enters their room

Vasant " tu tum pakka jaa rahi ho

Gulaal "tradition hai"

Vasant said jaldi aana I will be waiting?..i love u

Gualaal hugged him and takes a leave

Everyone accompanied gulaal and they gave her blessing

Kesar was in his room he knew gulaal wass leaving...he walked towards the window and lifted the curtain and saw gulaal leaving...for a fraction of sec gulaal looked upward kesar quickly dropped the curtain and hide behind and then after few sec lifted up and saw car leaving the premise he stands there for some time and then walked away

Gulaal was in her parent house she is happy but missing vasant

Next morning vasant left for office he did his usual day to day office works..he was sitting in his cabin... he received a call he started talking with the client while moving around and he climbed down the stair for a board meeting suddenly he slipped and tumbled down...and was injured...his colleagues rushed to him and took him to hospital

Kesar who was sitting in his college canteen got the news from one of vasant's colleagues...he was shocked and frightened and he rushed to hospital

In the hospital kesar saw vasantbha lying in the hospital bed...the nurse attending vasant told kesar that he had fracture in his leg bone and his leg is plastered for 15 days

Kesar was tensed and scared vasant looked at him and consoled him he is ok

In evening kesar and his friends took vasant home

Vasant was taking rest in his room aftersometime panba came in his room

She said "tum theek hona"

Vasant said "yes"

Kesar was sitting beside vasant he just wanted to remain with his vasantbha he cant see vasant injured he was in tears

Vasant looked at him and said "waise to bahut strong banta hai aur zara si injury kya ho gayi itna ghabra raha hai"

Kesar in choked voice said "vasantbha aapko pata hai na apko chot lagti hai to bahut takleef hoti hai aap sambhal kar kyu nahi chalte" he was complaining like a kid

Vasant was injured but he was consoling kesar "nahi kuch nahi hua plaster hai 15 din mein uttar jayega"

Panba said "lekin kal gulaal ko lene jaana hai pagphere k rasm hai use humne kuch nahi bataya hai"

Vasant said "ha baa theek kiya aapne par fikr mat kareiye kesar chala jayega"

Kesar said nothing as vasant wish is his command

Next morning kesar got ready to pick gulaal from her parent house

Panba said "ache se lana aur wanha jaakar sabke pair chuna"

Kesar said "kya.pair bhi chone honge"

Panba said "haan"

Kesar left

Gulaal was ready she wore green georgette saree and wore a diamond necklace that vasant has gifted her in her bday...she was looking beautiful as new bride

Suddenly a car stopped infront of her house she thought it to be vasant and she ran to the door

Meanwhile Kesar came out of the car and walked towards the door... gulaal reached the door and at the same time kesar reached the door they almost touch each other both were surprised gulaal who was still breathless looked at kesar with her increase breath and then drew back kesar took a step back gulaal regained herself and then searched vasant and she saw the empty corridor and walked inside disappointly

Kesar was still standing at door silently in few seconds revji came outside he welcomed kesar inside

Gulaal home is small 2 bedroom house build in old fashioned way...its not lavish but a cozy and confortable apartment

Kear sit on the sofa

Revji asked "tum kaise ho aur vasant nahi aaye"

Kesar "ji unhe koi kaam tha" avoiding the actual reason behind it

Gulaal listened whole conversation from her bedroom door she was really upset with vasant

Poonam and gulaal came outside

Poonam said "koi baat nahi beta tum aa gaye ho chalo khana kha k jaana"

Kesar said "nahi mujhe nahi khana aap bus inhe jaldi se vida kar dijiye"

Revji "kuch to kha k jaao safar lamba hai Mumbai travel karne mein 3-4 hrs lagenge"

Kesar said confidently "nahi itna time nahi lagega "

he said "jaldi kijye" and he got a call he went outside and stand outside his car

Poonam was upset.she had made wide variety of dishes for her son in law gulaal looked at her and said" koi baat nahi"

Gulaal took a leave and she headed towards car

Kesar was resting on the car door listening some music in ipod...he looked gulaal coming towards him...she came near and stood quietly kesar looked at her luggage lifted her luggage and kept it in the boot space meanwhile gulaal sat inside the car and locked the door unknowlingly that her pallu was stucked and hanging outside the car door

Kesar after putting her luggage moved ahead and saw her pallu

He looks towards the pallu took a deep breath and then unlock the car door gulaal looked at him...he gave her pallu back...gulaal took it and looked in the other direction

Kesar locked the car door put his sunglasses and walked to the other end and sat inside the car he started driving the car... he drove really fast at 120 km/hr gulaal was scared but didnt speak..Neither of them talked in between

Kear reached home he stopped the car he came out, looked at the watch and said disgustly "oh man I m such a loser mujhe 2 hr 05 min lage mumbai pahunchne mein I m really slow "and he walked in and asked a male servant to take the luggage from the car

Gulaal who was still unconscious and scared with kesar drive normally it takes 3-4 hrs to reach mumbai and he covered the distance in 2 hr?. She was was still nervous but tried to be normal she steps out of the car

Male servant greeted her and informed about vasant fracture

Gulaal was tensed she ran inside the house and reached her room and looked at vasant

She fall into his arms and said vasant "yeh kya ho gaya mujhe aapne bataya kyu nahi"

Vasant said "batata to tum pareshaan ho jaati waise I missed u did u"

Gulaal "baat mat badlo"

Vasant "ab jo ho gaya so ho gaya chodo 15 din mein plaster uttar jayega"

Gulaal was still not convinced but still she nodded her head

Vasant asked" tum itni jaldi kaise aa gayi "

Gulaal mujhe "kya pata tha apka bhai aeroplane lekar aa raha hai nahi to thodhe der aur ruk jaati"

Vasant laughed and said "kesar kya kare iska"

Afert gulaal returned life returned to its daily routine gulaal had build a good rapport with her mother in law and rewa...her manner and skills were appreciated by everyone.. the only person who avoided her was kesar.he was never present before her

Gulaal was cleaning her home.. she stopped at kesar room she entered inside and saw the room is a complete mess..she decided to clean his room it took half an hour to clean his untidy room but finally room was neat and tidy

Gulaal was looking at his room she heard rewa calling gulaal she replied "mein kesar k room mein hu"

Rewa came and saw kesar's room was cleaned

Gulaal is exited and she said "kaisa laga"

Rewa looked tensed "yeh kya kiya aapne"

Gulaal changed her expression "kyu kya hua"

Rewa said "kesar ko bilkul acha nahi lagta uske room ko koi touch kare wo bahut possessive hai apni cheejo ko lekar ab pata nahi who kaise react karega"

Gulaal was also tensed

After some times kesar returned his home he entered his room he looked at his room he was angry he came out of his room and shouted "rewa rewa"

Rewa and gulaal were in kitichen they came out of kitchen

Rewa said "kya hai kyu chilla raha hai"

Kesar angrily said "u alice in wonderland how dare u enter my room kisne kaha tha mere room mein enter karne k liye"

Rewa shouts back "mein nahi gayi gulaal bhabhi ne kamra saaf kiya hai"

Gulaal put her head down

Kesar looked at gulaal and in authorative way said "mujhe pasand nahi hai koi mere room ko touch kare" and he walked away in anger..gulaal stood their silently

Vasant was still resting his leg is fractured and he was regaining slowly

rewa told vasant about kesar behaviour...gulaal enters her room.. vasant looked at her and asked "koi baat hai"

gulaal said "nothing"

vasant said "kesar k attitude se pareshaan ho kaho to main baat karu"

gulaal said "nahi aap mat kijeye yeh mere aur kesar k beech k baa tai mein sambhal lungi...humara to rishta hi nok jhok ka hai haina..she said it to convince vasant as she didnt wanted to worsen the situation

vasant smiled and said "theek hai"

In eveining vasant walked slowly with the help of a stick to kesar's room

kesar who was still angry saw vasntbha and offered him chair

vasant said "kesar"

kesar said politely "bha lecture mat dijyega plz... meine nahi kaha tha mera room saaf karo aur mujhse mat kehna mein sorry bolo" kesar is always childlike infront of vasant

vasant smiled he said "par mein yeh sab kehna nahi aya"

kesar "phir kya"

vasant said "kesar ab yeh room dekh yeh kitna saaf hai rehne layak hai to aise kyu nahi rehta"

keasr replied back" nahi yeh room ab complete mess hai koi cheez apne jagah par nahi hai"

vasant said "kaise"

kesar mein "apne shoes aakar bed k pass pehkta hun aur ab wo shoe rack mein hai mera squash racket bed par rehta hai ab wo cupboard mein hai aur meri keys meri study table k pass hoti hai aura b yeh key holder mein hai sab ulta pulta hai"

vasant smiled and said "sab theek kehte hai tujhe meine hi bigada hai"

kesar" haa woh to hai "and he hugged vasant...vasant came there to discuss about gulaal but couldn't as kesar is too innocent infront of him he thought not to interfere

in the evening gulaal is walking in the house suddenly she stopped outside kesar room...kesar was standing infront of his door he was pasting something he turned back looked at her and closed the door...he then left the house to meet his friends

gulaal looked at the poster its written "Tresspasser not allowed"

gulaal couldn't resist but to smile

kesar and his friend hit the disco thek...everyone was dancing tiya also accompanied them.kesar was dancing...one girl came near and asked for a dance kesar didn't refuse and danced with her...tiya was watching this she was annoyed and decided to leave

she said to kesar "kesar mein jaa rahi hun"

kesr said "thek hai jao"

tiya said "mein sach mein jaa rahi hun"

kesar replied " to sach mein jao na"

tiya said "u don't love me "

kesar " what "

tiya "haan u always avoid me u never think of me aur tumhare saath hamesha tumhare frns hote hain we never have any privacy"

kesar was disgisted with her usual tantrums he sai ?."par tum mujhse kyu expect karti ho ko 24 hrs tumhare bare mein socho koi kisi k bare mein 24 ghante kaise soch sakta hai"

tiya said "sirf tab nahi soch sakta jab use pyaar na ho :and she left

kesar was confused he just said "gals"

kesar and tiya are in relationship since two months they are considered as hottest couple in the college but actually there is no bonding no chemistry between the two?..tiya liked kesar as he is heartthrob of college and kesar chose her as she is talk of the town?.they are infuatuated but they don't love each other

kesar returned home at midnight...gulaal was in her kitchen she was cleaning the kitchen and preparing some ingredients for the morning breakfast...kesar was tired he reached his room he looked at guitar he wanted to play it so he took the guitar and reached the swimming pool outside his house...kesar liked sitting besides the swimming pool...he took off his shoes he folded his jeans to knees and dip his leg in the water and started playing "piyu maari" tune in the guitar

gulaal who has just finished kitchen work and was switching off the light heard the tune...she was already connected to this tune...her soul was connected to the string of his guitar... kesar started singing slowly

Gulaal was thrilled to hear the song...she cant resist herself to find the person singing the song kesr was still singing gulaal was searching him and finally she reached the swimming pool area kesar was still singing the song with closed eyes hear the sound of payyal and opened his eyes and stopped...he turned back and saw gulaal standing

gulaal was astonished to find the truth...the song the tune the voice that took her breath her heartbeat away was actually kesar's

for a sec she remained silent...kesar got up unfolded his jeans wore his shoes and took the guitar in his shoulder and started walking

as kesar walked away from her... gulaal in low voice said "nice song"

kesar stopped but didn't turned around he just walked away from her...leaving gulaal astonished surprised and in deep thought

chapter 8

It was Sunday morning and gulaal and rewa were in kitchen... gulaal was preparing breakfast for everyone

she asked to rewa "kesar k liye kya banau" as she didnt know his taste and his liking

rewa said "bhabhi aap breakfast ki baat kar rahi hai... abhi to wo sokar bhi nahi utha hoga wo vasantbha ka laadla bigda brat hai"

kesar was sleeping in his room he received a call

kesar was half asleep he said lazily "haa bol"

Vicky was on the other end he said "time kya hua hai"

Kesar got up with and said "r u nuts?. tune apni watch mein kya time bomb fit kar diya hai jo mujhse subah subah time puch raha hai"

Vicky said "subah nahi 10 baje hain humne movie plan ki hi chalna nahi hai kya"

kesar said "fine ata hun" and he got up and moved towards kitchen

rewa was still talking to gulaa "bhabhi agar ladka Sunday k din 10 baje se pehle uth jaaye to baa paidal talsagra mein mawari k darshan ko chali jaayengi"

kesar was standing outside he heard whole conversation he came near to rewa and pulled her hairs and said "kyu subah subah meri tareef ki jaa rahi hai"

rewa said " kesar chod meri baal "

she then called "panba dekhiye yeh meri hair pull kar raha hai"

panba was doing pooja in he poojaroom she shouted from the poojaroom "kesar"

kesar replied " jhoot bol rahi hai baa"

rewa went outside and kesar laughed he went near the refieregrator gulaal was watching sis-bro fighting she felt good as she was single child she never got opportunity to experience the sweet- sour relationship a sis-bro shares...bother and sister are like friend given by nature seems like arch enemies but shares a unique blend of love companionship and friendship...she was delighted to watch it

kesar opened the fridge door and he took the water bottle and start drinking water from the bottle

gulaal was standing near the gas stove she asked kesar in low voice "tea or coffee"

kesar without looking at her said "cappuccino with whipped cream and little honey"

and he walked out

gulaal was confused she wondered who on earth drinks cappuccino daily at home she didn't know how to prepare it...

rewa entered the kitchen she understood and say "bhabhi mein banaa deti hun aap is ladke k nakhare nahi handle kar sakti "

gulaal smiled back

kesar after having his breakfast left to meet Vicky and sonu

clads watched movie and then roam around in the mall

Vicky asked "kesar kal tiya se jhagada hua tha kya "

kesar "mat puch yaar mujhe samajh nahi aata yeh girl hum ladko ko itna faltu kyu samjhti hain..."

he continued " nahi faltu nahi actually apna pet puppy samjhati hain pehle to hume kuchhi, puchi, honey ,sweetu jaise weird names se bulati hai...yucks...and then expect them to follow us everywhere making puppy faces...disgusting

sonu said "haan yaar u know abhi kisi female writers ne likha hai boyz always thinks about girls 24*7"

kesar said naughtliy " r u kidding me...usko sach mein lagta hai hum boyz ladkiyon k bare mein sochte bhi hain" he winked his eyes

Vicky and sonu laughed and said " d-u-c-k s ! she never know"

Kesar said "world mein kitna kuch hai sochne ko..we think about ghar "BAR" cricket football good food squash video game motocross bungee jumping..

Vicky interrupts in between said "motocross..kesar bahut din se motocross nahi kiya lets arrange it "

Sonu said "right pehle motocross phir party"

vicky said "aur paise kesar dega"

kesar said "y me?..mere bha k glucose aur medicine k factory hai paise k nahi "

sonu said "vasantbha k plaster utharene k khushi mein party chahiye"

kesar thought for a sec and said "haan yaar vasantbha ka plaster cut ho gaya hai?..ek do din mein thek ho jaayenge party to karenge"

and he promised to throw a party and returns home

vasant was still on bed rest

Kesar came in his room he sits besides vasantbha and said vasantbha kaisa feel kar rahe ho

Vasant "acha lag raha hai"

Kesar said "vasantbha aap aaj bahut dashing lag rahe ho this shirt really suits u"

Vasant said "kitne paise chahiye"

Kesar said "sirf rs 10000 party karni hai"

Vasant said "kaise party"

Kesar "apke thek hone k khushi mein party"

Vasant "acha...nahi milenge...tum log padhai to karte nahi jab dekho tum teen musketeer's paise kharch karne k naye idea sochte rehto ho"

Kesar insisted "de dona vasantbha pakka return kar dunga"

Vasant "aur padhai"

Kesar "pakka fail nahi hunga"

Vasant smiled...he open sidetable of his bed he tooks some money and said with a smile "yeh le rs 20000 khush"

Kesar was thrilled he took money and hugged vasant bha and said "u r the best bro in this world..aur haan ap is colour mein bilkul ache nahi lag rahe"

Vasant "chal bhaag yanha se badmaash"

Kesar turns back he see gulaal standing she was watching the whole incident...he didnt speak a word he decided to take a leave and before leaving he flipped the note bundle infront of her

Gulaal who saw kesar going and looks at vasant and smile coldly

Vasant asked "kya hua"

Gulaal said "mujhe bolna to nahi chahiye par aap kesar ko bigaad rahe hain wo abhi 20 years ka hai aur apne use 20000 spend karne ko de diye its not right"

Vasant looked at gulaal he knew she was right...he asked her to sit besides him...vasant said mein janta hu tumhe lag raha hai mein sahi nahi kar raha...gulaal tumhe pata hai mein kesar k umar ka tha jab motabha hume chod kar chale gaye the...tab panba bahut akele thi wo akele business aur ghar nahi sambhal sakti thi kesar aur rewa bahut chote the...tab apne parivaar k liye meine business sambhal lena ka faisala liya...aur suddenly mein age se kafi bada ho gaya meine bahoot mehanat ki din raat sirf kaam kiya...mujhe apne parivaar k liye karna tha...kuch bhi nahi socha sirf kaam kaam or kaam...par is jimmedaari mein wo hasta khelta vasant peeche choot gaya jise kesar k tarah ghumna acha lagta tha jise kesar k tarah gaane ar dance karne k shaukh tha...jab mere saare dost masti kar rahe hote the mein dhoop mein clients k yanha jaakar orders leta tha?mere 8 years kab nikal gaye mujhe pata hi nahi chala"

He paused and then said "par.muje is baat ki koi gum nahi hai...mein jo kiya parivaar k liye kiya...us samay meine decision liya tha k jo shaukh mein pure nahi kar paaya wo kesar karega...mere saare sapne mein kesar k ankhon se dekhunga...wo khush rehta hai to me khush rehta hun wo jab apne sapne jeeta hai to mujhe lagta hai mere sapne pure ho gaye mein kesar k through apni wo zindagi jee leta hun jise mein bahut peeche chod aaya hun"

He had tears in his eyes his eyes were wet remembering the old days wen his family had suffer the loss of motabha and how he had struggled each day to provide bread and butter to his family

Gulaal was speechless...vasant was always cheerful infront of her it was first time he was pouring his heart out...she quietly rest her head on vasant's shoulder looking at her husband with respect

He said with the choked voice and he couldnt speak as he was in tears...gulaal saw tears in his eyes...she was in tears too

After some times Vasant wiped his tears and said kesar bahut acha ladka hai bahut naughty hai par aisa koi kam nahi karega jisese mujhe sharm aaye uske meine sanskar diye hai mera dil meri atma usme me hai...dekhna ek din wo apne vasantbha ka sar garv se ucha karega...

he then said "gulaal acha laga tumne kesar k liye concern show kiya...tum hamesha isi tarah mere parivaar ka khayal rakhna...promise me mere dreams pure karne mein saath dugi"
