Chapter 36

Gulaal broke down and sat there crying all of sudden she saw kesar's tabeez was lying on the floor...gulaal was worried she took the tabeez in hand and ran downstairs after kesar but kesar had gone...

Gulaal was worried about kesar she remembered pandit had said him to wear the raksha kavach...each day she prayed to god for his well being she called rewa atleast once a day to know about kesar...rewa told her kesar was sad but rewa didn't knew the amount of pain he was going through..he was vulnerable...but he never called gulaal...not even once and a week passsed

With each passing day gulaal was feeling uneasy but today she looked tensed dreadful thoughts were rising in gulaal's mind. There was, however, no reason to anticipate misfortune, but still her spirit was shattered and her heart was sinking down in grief.. every now and then she was picking her cell phone...she didn't call kesar but she called rewa twice or thrice...and rewa replied kesar was at work...gulaal heard it but still was not convienced

she sat down the floor she hung her head in fear...even she didn't knew y those thoughts have crept in her mind and she was expressing her worst fear in tears...

poonam was watching her daughter very carefully with her unreadable expressions

it was midnight and gulaal sat in her bedroom floor traumatized with face in her hands...he was the sweetest thing ever happened to her she thought now her soul was shrinking in fear

poonam came near her daughter and said "agar itni fikr ho rahi hai to kesar to phone kar lo"

gulaal looked at her and said "nahi maa aisi koi baat nahi hai"

poonam said "thek hai gulaal...par ek baat hai tu kesar ko behad pyaar karti hai..haina"

gulaal was not in the state to answer...she stood up and stand near the balcony

suddenly her cellphone rang...poonam picked the phone and she was shocked and frightened to recive the news

she screamed "gulaal kesar ka accident ho gaya hai...woo modi hospital mein hai"

gulaal become almost hysterical her worst feart was confirmed she grabed her purse and quickly ran out the door in panic and hired the taxi to Mumbai to be with him as soon as possible

all the way gulaal kept praying

she rushed to modi hospital with her heart pounding and tears running down her cheeks...rewa and raman was sitting outside the ward...rewa saw gulaal she ran towards her

and she looked at gulaal she was pale and frightened

rewa said "bhabhi aap aa gayi" and then she noticed that gulaal didn't wore her duppatta in haste...rewa looked at her and gave her scarf covered her up..and asked her to sit

gulaal looked at her and said "kesar"

rewa said restlessly "bhabhi kesar road cross kar raha tha aur suddenly ek car se uska accident ho gaya"

rewa continued "itne dino se kesar ekdum khoya khoya rehta tha usko apna koi hosh hi nahi rehta tha.. chupchap rehta tha aur ghar par bhi kisi se bhi baat nahi karta tha...shayad aapko miss karta tha...aise hi apne mein khoya road cross kar raha tha k car se accident ho gaya...sar par chot aayi hai"

gulaal heart froze to hear it

then she saw dr dushyant and other doctors coming out of the ward

dr dushyant saw gulaal

she ran to him and asked holding her breath "dushyantji mere husband...mera kesar"

dushyant looked at her and read the depth of love in her eyes..he paused and then earnestly said "relax doctor gulaal apke pati bilkul thek hai..kuch minors si head injuries hai aur back pain hai...woo jaldi hi thek ho jayenge"

"oh thank god" she replied as broke into the ears of relief

and then she quickly ran insie the ward to see her kesar

dr dushyant stood there for a moment he was silent he looked at the ground and then he took his cell phone out of the pocket and called his mother and said "maa apne meri liye jo ladki dekhi hain...unki photo bjijwa dijeye mein shaadi karne k liye tayyar hun".dr dushyant had realized the gulaal's love towards kesar and how futile his wait for her..now he wanted to move ahead in his life and walked away

gulaal went inside and saw kesar was lying in the hospital bed he was sleeping he had bandage around his head he had occurred minor head injuries...she stood next to him and watched over him...his eyes were closed and she had teas in her eyes...she felt guilt for what had happened...y she was destined to fall in love with a person...who was so helplessly in love with her..whose life was miserable without her...all these days he tried to live his life without gulaal- indeed he tried- he couldnt...his heart was no longer subject to sanity...his heart was shipwretched and drifted helplessly in the infinte ocean of sadness..he was aimless and his heart felt desparate longing for her...kesar found no peace...the forlorn and love sticken kesar had no way out he was walking in his own thoughts and he lost his balance and the misery took place...

Gulaal looked at him with lonely tears...she caressed his face gently and then she tied the tabeez around his neck...she tied the seven knot and as she tied the pooja ceremony flashed her mind where she and kesar did the pooja together and pundit had explained her seven vows that bride take in the married life
1.I will be by your side as your courage and strength.

2.I will love you solely for the rest of my life, as you are my husband. I vow to remain chaste.
3.I will shower you with joy, from head to toe. I will strive to please you in every way I can.
4.I promise to love and cherish you for as long as I live.

After couple of hours kesar regained consciousness and saw gulaal standing infront of him...seldom if ever do dreams become so real..his soul his spirit was standing infront of him...gulaal looked at him and she smiled ecstatly.he took a deep sigh...but didn't speak

Then rewa came inside and asked kaisa hai kesar

Kesar looked at her and nodded his head and then took the rest Gulaal was relieved to see him..

rewa called panba and informed kesar was alright

Next day poonam called gulaal to know about kesar's health...gulaal gave her good news

Then she said "maa aap mera luggage bhijwa dijyega mein kuch din Mumbai hi rahungi"

Kesar listened the conversation quietly

In the evening kesar was discharged from the hospital...gulaal yogesh and rewa took him home

Panba welcomed kesar and then they took him to his room for rest...

gulaal was taking care of kesar after he was discharged from hospital..but there was certain silence between them.. the only communication between them was there quiet eyes..who spoke their love passion pain grief and sadness to each other..but kesar silent eyes were searching some answer in her what made her to stay with him y is she so caring.. he didn't speak..but a silent frustation was brewing inside

kesar was recovering slowly...after couple of days yogesh parents came to meet panba they inquired about kesar' health and then after sometime they talked about rewa-yogesh wedding..they told panba that the best mahurat for marriage is after 15 days and panba and kesar agreed for the date.

Everyone in the family was exited with the news

In the afternoon panba gulaal and rewa were in kitchen

Rewa said "bhabhi acha hua aap aa gaayi..pata hai apko aap nahi thi to kuch ghar bahoot khali khali sa rehta tha"

Gulaal smiled she said "mein yanha thi kyunki kesar ka accident hua tha?ab kesar thek ho jaayega to mein waapas?"

Rewa said "bhabhi mein janti hun k ap apne ghar waapas jaane chahiti par kya aap meri shaadi hone tak yanha nahi ruk sakti?mujhe aapki jarurat hai bhabhi"

Gulaal looked at her

Panba was not confortable with gulaal return but she too didn't wanted any kind of rumors to surface during rewa and yogesh marriage so she also said "gulaal tum rewa k shaadi tak yanhi rukna"

Gulaal gave her consent and then rewa left

Gulaal was in kitchen with panba..she looked at panba and said "panba aap chintaa mat kijeye panba jaise hi rewa k shaadi ho jayegi mein yanha se chali jaungi aur phir nahut jald kesar k jindagi mein koi aa jayega jo usese bahoot pyaar karegi aur uska bahoot khayal rakhegi...sab thek ho jayega panba"

She said it to panba unknowlingly kesar was standing outside the kitchen he heard her and he was hurt and angry

He went in his room he was angry he lost his temper and in frustration throwed the furniture and books in his room

He throwed it with force...and then he felt pain in his shoulder so deep that he sighed deeply...meanwhile gulaal entered his room she looked at him and saw him in pain and quickly ran towards him and asked "kya hua kesar"

Kesar said angrily "kuch nahi tum jao yanha se" and he started looking for pain reliver ointment

Gulaal asked mein "abhi dawai laga deti hun"

Kesar replied in raised voice "koi jarurat nahi hai...mein apna khayal rakh lunga just leave me alone"

Gulaal said "par kesar"

Kesar said in frustration "gulaal tum yanha sirf ek aadarsh bahu ka farz nibha rahi ho yanha sirf apni jimmedari nibah rahi to nibaho...tumhe kya fark padta hai mein jee ya maru...mere hone naa hone sekya farq padta hai"

Gulaal said in fearfully "kesar plz dawai lagna do tumhe takleef ho rahi hai"

Kesar hold her tightly and said "haan gulaal bahoot takleef ho rahi hai bahoot dard ho raha hai mujhe..tum de rahi ho takleef...tum janti hun mein tumse pyaar karta hun bahoot pyaar karta hu gulaal...phir bhi tum baar baar kyu mujhe kisi aur k saath jeevan jeene k liye kyu kehti hun..kyu"

Gulaal freed herself took a steo back and replied "kyunki tum kisi aur k liye bane ho...tum jise pyaar kah rahe ho woo pyaar nahi hai...its not love"

Kesar was shocked to hear it

Kesar came near and asked "kya kaha pyaar nahi hai"

Gulaal said "haan nahi hai yeh pyaar"

Kesar didn't speak for a moment and then spoke again "to phir kya hai?"

Gulaal said "sirf attraction..infactuation hai..pyaar nahi"

Kesar was blank and then reply firmly "oh really to yeh attraction hai...haan mujhe kya pata pyaar kya hota hai shayad yeh attraction hey to phir pyaar kya hota hai...tum batao kya hota hai pyaar hai mein"

Gulaal replied "jab koi kissi k parvah khud se jyada kare to use pyaar kehte hai

Jab koi bina kahe ek dusare k man k baat jaan le to use pyaar kehte hai

Jab kisi k choti si baat uske liye bahoot maayne rakhiti ho to use pyaar kehte hai

Aur uske door jaane k khayal hi koi bardasht na kar sake to use pyaar kehta hai"

Kesar came near and grabbed her and asked "Kya tumne kabhi bhi humare beech is pyaar ko mehsos nahi kiya?"

Gulaal hung her head down she said hesitatelty "n..nahi"

Now kesar was determined he said ""tumhe nahi lagta yeh sab humare rishte mein hai???

Gulaal sais "no"

Kesar said "koi baat nahi gulaal " and now he was firm and determined and he left
