After the engagment ceremony was over...diaba called gulaal...gulaal came and diaba introduced guruji from talsagra
Diaba said gulaal" yeh humare guruji hain bahoot vidhvaan hain?.meine inhe talsagra se khaas tum sab logo k bulaya hai"
And then said to guruji "guruji yeh kesar k patni hai gulaal
Guruji looked at her and studied her..gulaal touchd his feet
Diaba gave him gulaal's and kesar's kundli and said "gulaal aur kesar ka deeyarvatto hua tha isliye aapse unki kundli dekhwana thi...yeh sab bahoot achanak ho gaya "
Guruji said in between "achanak kuch nahi hota diaba sab kuch niyati pehle se hi tay (select) kar deti hai...samajh lijeye kesar aur gulaal ka milna niyati ne tay kar rakha hai...diaba gulaal aur kesar k bhgaya mein ek dusare ka saath likha hua hai"
Gulaal didn't said a word she was just listened him
Diaba said "guruji kesar aur gulaal k kundli dekh lijeye"
Guruji read kundli and said "kesar k jeevan mein safalta yash aur naam sab hai dil ka saaf hai...apne dil k baat ko saaf saaf kehna jaanta hai par saath mein zid aur gussa bhi hai"
He continued "jo kami kesar k ander hai us kami ko gulaal poora karti hai apki bahu kesar k liye bahoot bhagyashaali hai uske jeevan ko sahi disha dene waali and then he gave a tabeez to diaba and said yeh raksha kavach hai ise kesar ko pehna dijyega"
Diaba asked in concern "raksha kavach kyu guruji kesar koi pareshaani hai kya"
Guruji remained silent and said sukh dukh to chalta rehta hai aur grah apni disha badlete rehte hai bas aap ise taveez pehna dijyega aur chinta mat kijeye gulaal to hai hi..gulaal kesar k kavach hai jab tak kesar k saath uska kavach uske saath hai."
Diaba and gulaal looked concerned...diaba called kesar...kesar came diaba said kesar "yeh taveez le aur pehen le...guruji ne diya hai"
Kesar looked at the tabeez and said "nahi diaba mein in sab mein yakeen nahi rakhta"
Diaba said "mein jo kah rahi ho chupchap kar"
Kesar replied in the determined way "sorry diaba par mein yeh nahi pehunga mein kisi bhi andhvishwaas (superstitions) ko badhana nahi chahata"
And he left the place
Gulaal was worried she said "guruji maaf kar dijeye aur mujhe taveez de dijeye"
Guruji said "thek hai yeh lo aur uske gale mein yeh saat bar baandh (seven knot) dena"
Gulaal took the tabeez and she was worried
After function got over everyone went to their room to sleep
It was midnight and gulaal quietly entered kesar's room?kesar was in deep sleep
She quietly move towards him she sat on the floor near kesar' bed and put her hands around his neck and started tying the tabeez in his neck...
Kesar felt her touch and he opened his eyes and saw her infront of him...his heart skip the beat for a sec.he couldnt believe himself gulaal sitting beside him with her around her neck...gulaal looked at him... her heartbeat accerated too in candence of the his heartbeat...he looked at her and she was trapped in his brown passionate eyes he stood up and sat his bed...after a pause gulaal continued to tie the tabeez without looking into his eyes...he tilted his head and noticed and understood the purpose of her to come...he broke the silence and said "yeh kyu badh rahi ho meine kaha naa mujhe is par bilkul yakeen nahi hai"
Gulaal said while tying "guruji bas ashirwaad de rahe the problem kya hai isme"
Kesar said "hai...mujhe problem hai mujhe yeh sab acha nahi lagta"
But gulaal didn't listened
Kesar said "tumhe kya lagta hai tum ise baadhogi aur mein ise nahi nikalunga"
Gulaal looked at him and innocently said "nahi"
Kesar didn't said he remained silent for a sec and then shy due to the physical proximity said "to kya yeh kaala dhaga aur yeh tabeez mujhe bachyega"...to lighten the situation
gulaal while tying the final knot said "is dhage k saath meine apna vishwaas astha aur 'pyaar' bandha hai...devimaa iski raksha jarur karegi"
and then gulaal pasued unknowingly she had said the word "love" now she was shy...it was unintentional on her part...she withdrew her eyes quickly and there was a burning flash on her cheeks
for kesar the sound of this word was as soothing as the morning bells of the temple...as splendid as the beautiful ocean..as scared as the dewdrop on the rosepetal.. he looked at her and his eyes were filled with the deep tender love...he just looked at the her face that was as tender and shy as the first dawnlight
gulaal stood in the arrested silence and then said hesistantly "mera matlab hai k tum parivar k sadyasa ho...isliye...tum...ek family member ho isliye mein..concerned thi"
she strained every effort of her mind what should be said...but still his eyes rest on her full of love...probably they spoke to her.do u need to give explaination...y there was a need of clarification...cant u just stop being reasonable...
gulaal then quickly turned herself and was about to leave the room
kesar called her from back in the soft voice "gulaal"
gulaal turned back...kesar came near and said "gulaal tumne humara parivaar k liye...mere liye bahoot kuch kiya hai...par meine anjaane mein tumhare saath bahoot galat kiya hai.tumhare life mein shayyad jo toofan aaya hai woo meri wajah se aaya hai...kya tum kabhi mujhe maaf kar paaugi"
and gulaal looked at him he was aplogising her..but she wasn't sure why he was apologising? for bringing dreams to her life? For bringing her from the darkness to light? for kindling her heart with his heart;his soul?
May be he apologised for filling her life with his color...filling the emptiness in her with his name...or probably fillling the sindoor that day without her consent...yes gulaal was unhapy she was angry at him she had promised panba never to accept this relationship...she had vowed never to accept him and but he took more love and passion from her than she could give to any person in her life...yes he should apologize...y did he engraved his name in her heart against her will...y did he step in her dreams without her consent...y he is slowly tying her in the unbreakable bond without her deisre...y he is making her helplessly fall for him..yes he should apologize for it
Her eyes sparkled with tears she wanted to speak...but she remained silent and brushed her tears and said "so jao kesar raat bahoot ho gayi hai"
And she silently left the room
Next day kesar was in his office after his work he went to gulaal's hospital to pick her up...gulaal and kesar were in car they were on their way...kesar received talli's phone she asked him to pick her up from her office and talli also joined them...kesar and gulaal were sitting quitely talli interrupted kesar "bahoot bhuk lagi hai chalo kanhi khana khata hain..."
Kesar said ghar chal kar kha lena
Talli said nahi mujhe bahoot bhuk lagi hai abhi chalo
Kesar looked at said "bhukkad just sprinkle salt and pepper on u and eat urself"
Talli said "gulaal dekho naa"
Gulaal looked at kesar and said "kesar use bhook lagi hai"
Kesar didn't said anything and agreed
Kesar talli and gulaal went to an resturant...they sat and kesar said "talli, gulaal order place kardo"
Gulaal looked at the menu card and she remebered something and said to waiter"how about Chilaquiles verdes con pollo, crepes and falafel"
Waiter looked at her in bewilderment and then looked at kesar...who was looking at amusement...these were same dishes he demanded in gulaal's rasoi rasm...he smiled
Waiter said "madam yeh to menu card mein nahi hai"
Gulaal looked at kesar and mischievously said "never mind"
Gulaal and kesar shared a secret smile and then kesar ordered gulaal's favourite food...gulaal and kesar were looking naughtily at each other talli was present there but she was completely alienated
While kesar gulaal and talli was having a good time
Some of kesar's college mates were sitting in the next table.tiya was also sitting with them.with her new boyfriend "rocky"...kesar and the group didn't share good vibes.As the group was jealous of kesar's popularity
Tiya looked at kesar and gulaal and out of jealousy said" wo dekho kya couple beitha hua hai.Meri mom ne bataya ek devar ne apni hi bhabhi se shaadi karli mujhe to sochte hue bhi sharam aa rahi hai"
Kesar and gulaal looked at each other they remained silent
Rocky said "kya kehna abhi doodh k daant (milk teeth) bhi nahi tute aur chaale hain shaadi karne kya khub jodi hai ladki 5 saal badi hai aur ladka k age shaadi k layak hi nahi hai"
Keasr was sitting quietly though the anger started building up...even they had picked on him in the college but he didn't care but now they were pointing too gulaal he jaws clenched in anger and his glaze slashed back to the boys who were making fun of them...gulaal sensed kesar's anger and said "chalo kesar yana se chalte hai
though he didn't want to..But still he stood up and swallowed his anger...gulaal talli and kesar started walking
The clads still made their fun "kyu bhaag rahe ho sharam aa rahi hai aise rishte par...aarey aani hi chahiye so disgusting aur yeh doctor gulaal...ek doctor hote hue bhi aisi harqat aisi kya jarurat pad gayi thi k apne devar se hi shaadi kar li"
Kesar felt a surge of anger...he ran to them and smashed them and beat the crap out of them...he was brutual wild and savage...he kept saying" how dare u gulaal k bare mein bolne k himmat kaise hue"
Gulaal and talli was scared...they shouted to stop the fight but kesar didn't listen anyone...meanwhile Vicky who was also a close friend of rocky saw this and gulaal told Vicky whole situation...vicky quickly came there and separated kesar from the boyz...
Vicky pulled kesar and said "bas kar kesar maar dega kya"...gulaal and talli also came running and hold kesar
Vicky said "gulaal bhabhi aap sambhaliye kesar ko aur usko ghar le jaaiye"
Gulaal and talli took kesar away from the spot
Then he turned to rocky and his friend and said angrily" yeh kya kar rahe the tum log?kya jarurat hai kesar aur bhabhi k bare mein aisi ghatia baat karni k"
Rocky shouted "inhone galat kaam kiya.hume to kehte hue bhi sharam aati hai"
Vicky said acha...tum log ko tab sharam nahi aati jab child marriage kar di jaati hai...tab nahi aati jab ek 16 saal k ladki shaadi 50 saal k bhudhe se kar di jaati hai tab sharam nahi aati jab aurat par samaj naa jaane kitne zulm karta hai par tab sharam aati hai jab ek ladka ek vidhwaa ko aage badh kar sweekarta hai tell me rocky kya tum kabhi aisa kaam kar pauge..kya tum kabhi ek widow phir se jeena seekhauge..nahi par jo aisa kar raha hai us par sharam aati hai"
Tiya said "par wo devar aur bhabhi the kam se kam is rishte k to maan rakhna chahiye tha"
Vicky replied "acha par shayyad tum bhul rahi ho yeh rishta unhe samja ne diya hai.is rishte mein unhe samaj ne bandha hai ...devar aur bhabhi k shaadi humare samaj mein sweekar kiya jaata hai.to phir tum logo ko kya problem hai...tum logo se jyada educated to talsagra k log hain jinhe pata hai ek vidhwaa ko dubara jeevan jeene ka mauka kam hi milta hai..Unke bacho ko dusara parivaar badi mushkil se accept karta hai..Isliye unhe aur unke bacho ko behtaar suruksha mile isliye unke parivaar ka koi member unka haath tham leta hai"
Rocky said "par gulaal kesar se umar mein badhi hai"
Vicky said "aur agar yahi baat ulti hoti agar kesar 25 saal ka hota aur gulaal 20 saal ki..Tu tumhe yeh couple weird nahi lagta...blissful lagta haina...agar aisa hai to mujhe sharam aati hai k mein aise hypocrite logo ko janata hun"
And the boys hung their head in shame
Kesar was in his room he was boiling in anger he received Vicky's call
Vicky asked him "tum thek hona"
Kesar said angrily "Vicky un logo se kah dena agar woo gulaal k aas pass bhi nazar aa gaye to jaan se maar dunga...I will kill them"
And he ended the call
Gulaal entered kesar's room and kesar was still angry
