Devdas was just a frustrated and weak person who made everyone's life miserable.

He could have taken Chandramukhi with him to another city and started a new life with her. 😆 She would have got rid of life as a prostitute and he would have got a partner who could have helped him get out of depression with her love and care. 😄

One of the horrible acting ( if you can even call that😆) by the hamming king, the weakest link in the movie. Just watch the Dilip Kumar and ANR ones for more authenticity.

as a big madhuri fan , I was disappointed that madhuri had a supporting role, and so much glitz on aish, kiron kher ( who was unbearingly loud). but after watching the movie many times later, I ffd to the madhuri srk scenes, I felt there was so much chemistry with them in this movie and all because of slb, I can watch the srk scenes, Jackie scenes, and the madhuri scenes 100 x. aish and srk appeared very forced, and the aish and her family scenes felt unnecessary. and madhuri's songs in this movie are classic, and only because of slb vision.

Yes, another person as (Bhansali's) Devdas could have done that....but then, this person wouldn't have let Paro get married with another man, I think.

Apart from depression, I'm sure, this Devdas also felt guilt and self-disgust to not having (had) the courage to be in company of his father (and his sister-in-law). I think, Bhansali wanted SRK to play a weakling to elevate the leading women. Btw, I didn't see Madhuri's role as a supporting one, especially when Bhansali made the women strong and kind of friends...

Yes again, that Bhansali's Devdas hasn't the depth of Dilip Saab's one...maybe the novel was just a means to showcase his aesthetic sense and talent.

Or him & Paro could have eloped and got married in the very beginning. He was well educated, par kaam kise karna he? Chandramukhi would have happily agreed too.

He had so many options and he still chose to waste his life. smiley36
