Agreed. Those videos of him in discomfort made me so angry. Everything was so badly handled if only people around him were aware and acted in time he would have been alive!

Sridevi and Lata’s death have forever left a void in me. Everytime I see their videos or songs it gets me.

Thank God I don't get these thoughts while watching movies. I don't remember who is alive n who is not. I just watch for timepass then forget.

Yes, I really like old movies too, and not just Indian ones.... There's a kind of zest to them

I think more than my own mortality I am worried for mortality of my loved ones and family, friends etc. Mind believes one can revisit people, places anytime and keep in touch all time. You'd like to believe your parents, grandparents, uncles, aunts, friends, classmates, people you grew up with, studied or worked with will remain forever. There is even an attachment to people we talk to or are friends with online. It is hard to accept everything is transient, temporary and people, things can go away forever anytime. Only to never return.

Perhaps this is why re runs of old films or re telecast of old shows or keeping old stuff and seeing it again, gives some comfort.

Actually Divya was too young to die and her death was mysterious. Sridevi also died mysteriously. I mean who dies in bath tub?

I guess hysteria for deaths of SSR, Pratyusha, Nafisa, Kulraj Randhawa, a 19 YO Tik Tok star etc was also due to the age and sudden factor and the mysterious suicides.

Though I felt bad for Soundarya also who died young in plane crash and another child star who died in plane crash. Though accidents are still understandable. But mysterious deaths, sudden deaths and suicides are harder to come to terms with.

If one has been ill for long or hospitalised or aged, one is still mentally prepared for the worst. But it is not the case with such sudden unexpected deaths.

I personally felt bad when Jaspal Bhatti also died in accident. It was weird how he was in back seat but still died. He was also part of childhood and one of lone genuine satirists in India.

Abroad I felt bad for deaths of likes of Amy Winehouse at young age too.

Not sure how familiar you are w American Sports

But I loved loved Kobe Bryant. He was part of my childhood. He retired from Basketball and around that time my brother got married. So I felt old. Then tragically he was killed in a helicoptor crash and I was so sad. Its been 3 years and im still sad.

Michael Jackson was another. His death was shocking

I try to make it habbit to text my close ones. Maybe twice a month just to keep in touch

I even hated it if I was called aunty instead of didi. Indians have habit of calling even 20 YOs as aunty. Gosh it hurts.

My brother was also devastated when he was called uncle as a teenager, after he grew a beard. LOL! He did not think merely having a beard would make people call him uncle instead of bhaiya that he was used to.

I do not like Indians' habit of calling people uncle or aunty or bhabhiji without even knowing whether person is married or not or what their age is or calling someone beejee, kaka, chacha if they see even one strand of grey hair or see someone either too slim or too fat or a bit wrinkled or tired or having dark circles.

Yeah I know how people got totally devastated when Kobe and Michael Jackson died.

Social media had erupted then.

I too feel guilty if I do not meet family or friends regularly or do not message or text them or do not contact even online friends once in a while or so.

I end up praying for others even though I know my prayers are not gonna lengthen anyone's life span.

There were some relatives I was really close to. When they died suddenly, or one had cancer at young age and a classmate died in an accident and another bestie at college died by suicide, I felt really bad. These were unexpected losses. A dear maid who had almost helped raise me as a kid, had also died somewhat young. I feel bad for her death too.

There are certain people who are part of your childhood and growing years and losing them is unbearbale. Imagining life without them is unbearable.
