What has illeana done to be considered better than alia,yes she was very good in barfi but alia has done roles with greater scope.I haven't seen sonchiriya though so can't say about bhumi.

Taapsee and alia are equal to me I think.Taapsee can be pretty inconsistent,she had a total of 2-3 expressions in badla.

But i am watching bareilly ki barfi now and I think kriti does the bold,confident girl of hindi heartland better than alia.

I know everyone is in awe of tripti but her performance didn't stay with me the way alia's in UP or avinash's in laila majnu did.

Padmavat is Deepika's worst performance and Udta Punjab is Alia's best. IMO you can't compare someone's best to someone's worst.

Let's look at Deepika in films like Chennai Express ( great comic timing), Cocktail (breakout performance), Piku( nuanced and subtle perf.), Tamasha( stole the show with her expressions) and Ram-Leela( fiery, pitch-perfect). The kind of versatility she brings to the table and excels at each role, can Alia manage tat? Alia's only really unambigously good perf. was in Udta Punjab, and she pretty much sucked in all other films, including the much-touted Highway and Raazi was average(IMO, at least).

According to you. It was both critically acclaimed and commercially successful. Kalank sucked in comparison.

Aloo would have made a fool out of herself in half the period films Deepika has done. Yes, they aren't the best films per se. But with Aloo they would have all suffered the same fate as Kalank. She lacks the grace to carry a role like that. Deepika is more versatile.

This scene in Tamasha. The excitement, the nervousness, the anxiety and innocence. Aloo would have made it look like SOTY3
