You already posted many of my favorites in this category - Ye Nayan dare dare (sigh!! Hemant Kumar's voice in this one!), Ankhon hi Ankhon mein (Dev!! ), Hum aapki aankhon mein (I love the tune, the dancing and the lyrics so so much! Sahir! ), Nain mile chain kahan, Nain mile nain huye baawre (I can wax eloquent about DK-Madhu all day ), Aapki aankhon mein kuch (Beautiful RD-Gulzar👏).

Here's another one from one my favorite yesteryear stars. This one would qualify for the "intoxication" post as well 😆, though here he's high on "bhaang laddoos" and not sharaab! Still- Dev is now the undisputed "King of intoxication" - no two ways about it!😛 Just listen to Rafi slurring, the man was so so emotive while playing back!

SJ- Hasrat Jaipuri-Rafi/Lata do the honors, this movie comes from the Nasir Hussain camp that was famous for rehashing the same story multiple times with different actors! 😃Asha Parekh even starred in many of them playing the same role😃😆 But the songs! Oh, the songs were always so memorable!

I have so many favorites in this category, I'm going to have a gala time posting songs 😃! Plus the nain, nigahein, aankhein theme offers a lot of scope, since these words occur in so many Hindi songs!

Here's one more I adore - Dev (again!😳) in his last outing with his wife Kalpana Kartik (she stopped working in movies after this) in a movie that's surprisingly good and with some great songs by the senior Burman. He really did reserve his best for Navketan.

Sung by Kishore, who play-backed mostly only for Dev (besides himself) in his early days, and Asha Bhosle, the song is like a banter, them going back and forth (much like they do in the movie) with lyrics by Majrooh. A delightful conversational song, that could feature in yet another list! *Hint hint* ! 😃😉

Another of my favorite songs that always features in my top Rafi songs list, beautifully penned by Kaifi Azmi, with one of the most complex compositions ever by Khayyam. It's amazing how Rafi starts the song with low crooning and in the last para he reaches a crescendo that together with the lyrics, tears the heart to shreds.😭

Kaifi Azmi's poetry is a combination of introspection, cynicism and social commentary as the protagonist (a very young and extremely handsome Dharmendra. who has also quoted this as one of his favorite songs), in bitterness and resignation, speaks of how love is not for those who are struggling for their daily needs.

Arzoo jurm, wafaa jurm, tamanna hai gunaah
yeh woh duniya hai jahaan pyaar nahi ho sakta...
kaise baazar ka dastoor tumhe samjhaoon
bik gaya joh woh kharidaar nahin ho sakta👏😭

I think this thread is going to go on for a while what with Aankhein, nazrein, nigahein and nain/ nayan/ naina. All synonyms for "eyes" have been covered! 😆

Here are some "Nazar/ nazrein/ nazron" songs -

Zara nazron se kehdo ji - Bees Saal Baad (1962), Hemant kumar lends his voice to Biswajeet who's mostly deadpan, but Waheeda Rehman more than makes up for this lack of expressions! 😃. Music is also by Hemant Kumar and lyrics by Shakeel Badayuni.

Nazar lagi raja tore bangle par- Kaala Pani (1958). Asha Bhosle sings this for Nalini Jaywant as she tries to impress Dev Anand with her shaayri. He is, of course, unimpressed. 😃 SD Burman- Majrooh combine to provide music & lyrics. A movie I have watched repeatedly for Dev and Madhubala! 😳😳

What a beautiful qawwali by Roshan! Beautifully penned by Sahir and superbly sung by Asha Bhosle, this remains one of my favorite filmi qawwalis.

Woh ek nigaah kya mili - Half Ticket (1962)

Salilda's music is rather Cossackian as is the dance, though at times it sounds like a Scottish reel. Helen is wonderful, Kishore Kumar is at his maddest, Lata trills like a bird, and Shailendra offers his words. Delightful!

O nigahein mastana- Paying Guest (1957)

If I were to pick the most romantic Hindi songs ever, I'm sure this song would feature in my list. The setting is beautiful, Nutan is lovely, Dev is at his romantic best, SD Burman's music is enchanting as are the lyrics by Majrooh. Asha Bhosle only hums, but oh, that humming is so so special!

This movie has another "nigahein" song - Hai Ye Nigahein , that I posted in the "intoxicated songs" thread.

Kahin pe nigahein, kahin pe nishaana - C.I.D (1956)

Waheeda Rehman's debut Hindi film that had her playing the good-hearted vamp. The music was a super-duper hit, Angel posted another song from the same movie that had Aankhon in it. Music is by O.P Nayyar, lyrics by Majrooh and playback is by the inimitable Shamshad Begum, who O.P utlilized so much during his early years, going on record saying she and Geeta Dutt were responsible for his success, only to overlook her later in favor of Asha Bhosle.
