If you tell me DP does not get the Urdu accent right I will concede on that point cause she barely speaks unaccented Hindi and has tinges of South Indian accent creeping in but since when has Ash developed accent problems with Hindi/Urdu😕

Also isn't an accent associated with a place rather than a language ... So how can Urdu or any language have a standardised accent??

Aishwarya is from south too...Ever listened to her speak in Hindi off screen? She cannot even build one full sentence without fumbling... Isn't pronunciation is what accent is all about? Its the way you pronounce a certain word, no?

accent

She speaks perfectly unaccented Hindi onscreen...she is a south indian raised in Mumbai...also what does her inability to speak Hindi offscreen have to do with her onscreen diction.

And yes accent as I mentioned pertains to a place not a language as seen in the definition you put up too. It is the pronunciation which gets affected in a language due to your place of origin having an extraneous effect on how you speak a language which in its true form should be unaccented. Like a Punjabi speaker in Punjab will in all probability speak unaccented Punjabi unlike a South Indian attempting Punjabi who will corrupt the unaccented version with his South Indian accent.

My point is that a Hindi speaker, who speaks the language without an accent will speak Urdu without an accent too since the 2 languages have only artificially created differences driven by religious considerations and the successful colonial attempt to divide and rule. Hindustani is essentially what was spoken before and even now but for its forcible dissolution into these two languages. Pure Hindi or Urdu speakers are few, the spoken language is the amalgamation of these two languages only...it is still hindustani and will remain so despite the so-called purification attempts made on both sides of the border.

I am looking forward to this movie. Some of the dialogues were very catchy like pyaar karna humare bas mein nahi par use door jana hai.
I really want to see how KJO explore the love angle here. Hopefully its acceptable and justifiable.

What's wrong with RK playing KJo?

I find KJo's life very interesting. I will watch a movie made on his life. 😆

I wasn't on IF at that time so I don't know much about it 😆

It was average I think. I thought it was okay. Could have been better. Too many actors spoiled it for me.
I liked KKKG. So I have no problem with rich people's stories. 😆 But dekhte hain how ADHM has been made.

@bold - Urdu and Hindi are NOT same. These two languages are poles apart, yes they have common words but that does not mean the languages dont have distinct dialects and accents. Its just saying that French and English are same expect for a few words. Even those languages have borrowed words.

A simple song as bulleya using typical urdu words is incomprehensible to a majority hindi speaking audience, how are you saying that its different on the basis of a FEW different words?

We are speaking here about the proper urdu, which u may find in Pakistan, and Indian parts of lucknow and Hyderabad, rest u will find Hindi in Mumbai Delhi etc.

Urdu has a specific accent where every phonetic sound is articulated unlike Hindi where the sounds of "t" and "d" are uttered through the rolling of the toungue to the upper teeth. Urdu language uses the "noon-gunnah" a nasal silent sound of "n" which formulates the ending of many crucial words.

Please try to be careful when talking about sensitive things. A language is a very distinct feature of someone's idenity.

^That story is made up. Saying that he meets Ash at the airport etc is all based on the teaser/songs. It says Aishwarya is a widow, but she is actually a divorcee as per the official synopsis, and SRK is very much alive. In fact SRK has a scene with both Ranbir and Aishwarya in the film.
