Part 65
APNA GHAR
[Nani's POV]
Mr Sen's untimely visit had left us in a state of shock and panic! I was clueless as to how were to deal with this sudden problem. Dev who was quite well versed with loop holes in our Law system instantly quipped in that there was very little we could do if we opt for an honest judicial path. Sensing the gravity of the situation I conceded to take up any possible way to safeguard Tara and her baby's life.
'Ek acche kaam ke liye bola gaya jhooth sau sach ke barabar hota hain!'
Aaksh belonged from a typical zamindaar family where inheritance, dowry, community, caste, lineage, status etc held supreme importance. And this was the main reason Sharma family outrightly refused to accept Tara as their daughter in law even before seeing or meeting her. Akash could never relate to their regressive mindset and hence chose to join army to pursue his childhood dream rather than entering the dirt of zamindaari and politics.
Akash's straying away from his family had already triggered a disturbance in their relations and then the final nail was him wanting to marry an orphan, that too an out caste girl severed the remaining ties between them. The way they behaved with Tara on Akash's funeral day gave out a clear statement that this was the end of the chapter in Tara's life!
But twist of her fate made way for sorrows back in her life!
Akash had always been very close to his grandparents. His grandfather was no more but he did have an ailing and bed-ridden grandmom, he would share all his happiness and sorrows with her. I assume he must have confided in her about Tara and also her pregnancy news unaware of the fact that this very truth will risk the life of his love n baby in future.
Few days ago his Grandmaa too breathed her last, leaving behind a major share of their ancestral property in the name of Tara and her baby. Mr Sen notified us that she was very upset with the decision of Akash's parents to not accept Tara and had also witnessed all the happenings and humiliation of Tara on Akash's funeral day. Unable to voice out her stand due to her ill health she had transferred a major portion of the inheritance to Tara, inorder to safeguard her and the baby's future. But little did she know that this very act will endanger the life of two innocent souls.
Akash's greedy and disgusting family member will use this will to trap Tara in the web of their deceit!
The moment the details of the will were disclosed in open leaving the entire family in a state of shock! One of loosing out on a major share and second that Tara was carrying their heir. A trusted servant of the Akash's grandmaa had overheard their dirty plan. They would have easily murdered Tara if there wasn't a clause in the will that thing happens to both the entire share of property will be transferred to a trust for charity. So the only way they could lay their hands on the property was to bring back Tara in the family and get her married to Akash's younger brother. Once Tara delivers her baby they will kill her!
This way they would get the custody of their heir and also can claim back all their inheritance.
Not only did the honest and upright servant in time disclose about their evil intentions to Mr Sen but also handed over all the letters, photos and proofs regarding Akash-Tara relation that Akash's grandmaa had treasured. Mr Sen was more like a family member and a father figure to Akash. Akash would always send letters, pictures etc to Mr Sen who inturn would hand it over to his grandmaa.
Mr Sen had left back all the required proofs of Akash-Tara relation leaving the Sharma's with very little scope to support their claim!
We all wanted that Akash-Tara have a registered marriage thereby authenticate their relation but it didn't happen. The nearest court was at quite a distance, in the town down the valley. Furthermore it was weekend and the court were closed. And with the weather playing havoc in the valley the roads to the ghats were also blocked for safety reasons therefore the registrar couldn't make it to the temple. Taking it as God's will Akash-Tara settled for having a simple wedding in the temple.
Looking at the circumstances of the wedding and in bid to ease the tension I had made arrangements for their nuptial night and their honeymoon at our farmhouse some kilometers away from AG. It would be a perfect place peaceful, secluded yet very romantic! This time spent alone would not only give them chance to know each other better but would also bring them closer. And as expected Akash-Tara who had left as two strangers bound together had returned as happily wedded couple!
Tara had conceived immediately post their honeymoon and with so much joy around. In all this chaos the registration formalities were forgotten and then abrupt cancellations of Akash's leave further delayed the process. Akash hadn't even been able to inform and include about his marital status in his professional records. Mr Sen had informed us about his death and the fact that his family had claimed his body from the army head-quarters.
There was no legal proof of Akash-Tara being married.
"What seemed as a curse then was indeed a blessing in disguise now!"
Though the Sharma family didn't have any legal proof of their wedding but still they could claim the child by performing DNA test. We also could not rule out the possibility of forcible means as they were into politics and had quite a lot of influence and power. The only way to stop them was to get Tara legally married on papers.
What an irony of fate sometime back I did everything possible to keep Tara away from Dev but today Dev was the only person I could trust who would safegaurd Tara and her baby's future!
Tara had overheard our entire conversation with Mr Sen. The shocking facts had left her agitated and petrified! Dr had strictly advised to keep Tara away from any further physical or mental stress, though I had assured her that we will not let the Sharma's succeed in their dirty plan but had disclosed our plan to her. Arjun had suggested a back-dated registered marriage of Dev-Tara to counter their claim. I had for the first time taken advantage of Tara's trust in me and in her dazed state made her sign all the required documents. She had no idea of what was to brace her in the coming days.
I know it was morally incorrect but in the present scenario this was the only way to put an end to Sharma's dirty deeds!
This marriage will disclaim any association of Tara with Akash. Now with all the proofs of Akash-Tara relation handed over to us by Mr Sen and a back-dated registered marriage certificate of Dev-Tara, Sharma's will have no grounds to claim the custody of the child nor could challenge this marriage. Arjun had assured us that he will leave no stone unturned and also will not let the possibility of DNA tests to arise. Even if they manage to acquire the permission for tests he won't let them succeed!
Dev had immediately informed me as the copy of the certificate was handed over to him. Finally we had managed to safeguard Tara but our happiness was short lived!
I was about head towards our office waiting for Dev, happy that finally all would be fine! Only to find Tara entering my room with some clothes, the geyser of her washroom wasn't working so she was here for a shower. I consented and left. Walking down the corridor I was shocked to see few jeeps barging inside our premises without permission. Few goons had already injured our guards. Expecting the worst I quickly instructed few members to escort all the members towards our community hall and lock it from inside for their safety. I along with few other trusted members headed to control the situation.
They were searching for Tara and started misbehaving with us but non bowed down against their threatening. Tara who by now was out of the washroom heard the commotion and peeped out of the window and luckily I could signal her to hide somewhere. Taking my cue she managed to escape from my room and locked herself in our temple.
Sharma family tried every possible way to hunt down Tara, Akash's mom emotionally blackmailing me that they were here to take back their daughter in law and their heir, his father warning, his brother nearly bashing some members but still we didn't comply. Fortunately Dev was back in time along with additional security that Maan had sent incase of any emergency.
Finally the situation was in our control as Dev and the commandos over powered the entire Sharma clan, now they were in our grip struggling to break free. Dev headed towards the temple to assure Tara that now everything was under control and she and her child were safe. After repeated attempts by Dev, Tara complied and opened the door but she was in a real bad state. Dev somehow managed to steady her seeing their proximity Mrs Sharma started hurling accusations and profanities against Tara and her conduct.
Now that everything was out in open and we had everything in our control and favor there was no need to beat around the bush!
Dev exactly did what was on my mind! He filled Tara's maang with the kumkum lying in the puja thali. Tara just kept staring at him and then passed out. There was pin drop silence for a moment while the Sharama's gasped in disbelief their faces seemed as if someone just slapped them hard in their face.

Dev unperturbed with the drama around just lifted Tara in his arms and walked out of the temple. His head held high claiming Tara as his wife, contention of securing their future settled on his face as he walked through the crowd making his way towards Tara's room. My eyes not once leaving the sight of him. I felt so proud of Dev today!
My assistant's voice brought me back as she spoke.
"Aaj toh main bhi maan gayi parvarish paidaayish se badi hoti hain...Aap ka vishwaas aur koshishen jeet gayi...Aisa hi ek din tha jab Aman Sir ne bhi do zindagiyon ko apnaya tha... " She stated.
"Aur aaj itne saalon baad Dev ne bhi do zindagiyon ko bachaya hain...Aaj sahi maayno mein woh, Dev Aman Khanna bana hain!" I affirmed proudly.
Sharma's started another round of her accusations but now my patience had given up. Last time on Akash's funeral day I hadn't reacted not wanting to create a scene. We had silently moved out but today they have crossed all the limits and I have had enough! The manager had already informed the police and they will be here soon but before that I needed to give them a reality check.
I lashed out of her and warned her against uttering any more unpleasant words for my children, also clearly notifying that Tara was my daughter in law and they had no right to defame her. But thick skinned people like them wouldn't give up so easily.
"Aap log kya samajhte hain hume...aise hi hamaari vidhwa-bahu ke maang mein sindoor bhar dene se shaadi ho gayi...Naintara hamaare ghar ki bahu hain aur hamaare parivaar ke waaris ko janam denewali hain...Samjhe aap." They argued that by just filling her maang they won't accept this marriage. She is our daughter in law and carrying our heir. They will go to court and claim the custody of their son's child.
Before I could say something Dev's voice echoed silencing them all.
"Kya saboot (evidence) hain aap ke paas ke Tara aap ke ghar ki bahu hain?...Kaise saabit (prove) karenge aap apni yeh baat?...Hain koi saboot ya gawaah (witness) aap ke paas?...Lekin yahan maujoot (present) har ek insaan jaanta hain ke Tara meri...Dev Aman Khanna ki biwi hain...Naintara Dev Khanna hain woh aur mere honewale bacche ki maa hain...Samjhiye aap." He proclaimed.
"Yeh dekhiye hamaara marriage certificate...hamaari shaadi aaj nahi balke kuch mahine pehle hi ho gayi thi...Toh ab aakhri baar keh raha hoon ke meri biwi aur mere bacche se door rahiye. Agar dobara unko takleef pohuchne ki koshish bhi ki toh aap logon ke liye accha nahi hoga."He warned them.
The copy of marriage certificate was massive jolt for the Sharma's!
They stood there shell shocked not expecting the sudden change in events and their whole planning ruined in matter of seconds. They were agitated and started getting aggressive but our guards had held them in place. Finally the police had arrived but while leaving they threatened to drag us to court. To which Dev firmly stated he was all set to give them a fitted reply in the court.
I sighed in relief as a major crisis was solved in time!
I headed towards Tara's room to face another ordeal. The Dr after examining Tara informed us she was fine now and was conscious. I sat beside Tara while caressing her head I slowly disclosed all the facts related to custody case and the need of this sudden marriage. Her eyes were closed but I knew she was very much hearing me out. I earnestly apologized to her for keeping her in dark all the while and taking such a major decision of her life without her consent.
Like sensing my dilemma, she opened her eyes and looked at me. Her eyes held no questions, no doubt, no complaints just complete faith in my decision yet again. I was awed by her blind trust in me! Dev walked inside the room with a folder in his hands. I left the room making an excuse to bring her food giving the couple some privacy.
They needed to talk!
[Naintara's POV]
Since I had heard about Dadi's will and the evil intentions of Akash's family I was very restless and scared. Though Nani had assured me that they will never let them succeed in their plan but still there was constant fear lurking in my mind. And today my fear realized! As I walked out of the washroom, there was too much commotion outside. I peeped out of the window and was shocked beyond wits to see Akash's family here and their goons had held Nani and many others captive.
A chill ran down my spine with the mere thought of being caught and forcibly taken away from here!
Luckily Nani caught me peeping out and signaled me to hide somewhere and I just ran out from the back door. Only God could save my child from the clutches of these monsters so it was the safest to hide inside the temple. I locked the door from inside and hide myself behind the idol praying to Maa to keep my baby safe! They kept banging at the door and with each moment passing moment my fear overpowering my faith. But Mata Rani didn't disappoint me and sent Dev to my rescue.
I could hear a faint voice urging me to open the door but my fear had taken over all my capacity to think or reason out but then the voice started getting louder and I could recognize the voice it was Dev! Getting a grip over myself I crawled towards the door and somehow managed to lean on it and opened the door. I peeped out to make sure that all was indeed safe and the view outside made me sigh in relief!
The Sharma's were in the firm grip of the commandos and Dev was right beside me. His eyes like silently promising that my baby was safe. A wave of calm settled in me but my body gave up due to anxiety and stress and unknowingly I collapsed on Dev. He held me in his firm grip, I tried hard to hold on but...
I could hear some noises around, accusations and taunts hurled on me and my character. Probably seeing me in Dev's arms the Sharma family was livid. Their each word pierced my already wounded soul! I managed to look up in Dev's eyes there was some strange expression in them and then the next moment he walked me towards the altar and filled my maang with the sindoor lying in the puja thali.
I just stared at him before darkness enveloped me!
On gaining back my consciousness my Dr smiled at me and inquired how was I feeling now. Seeing my fearful face she assured me that My baby was fine and I just need complete rest and no more stress. I faintly smiled at her when Nani too entered the room. The Dr repeated her words and left shortly after discussing my medication with Nani. Nani sat beside me and lovingly caressed my head. I closed my eyes in relief.
Reluctantly Nani narrated to me everything about the will and how they manage to counter Sharma family's claim. She also apologized for keeping me in dark about the whole procedure and making me sign those marriage papers. I purposely didn't open my eyes as I didn't want to make the situation more awkward for Nani but her sudden emotional outburst caught me off guard. I immediately got up and hugged her. Wiping off her tears I nodded in no gesturing her not to cry.
"Tum dono ko surakshit rakhne ke liye hume jo sahi laga woh humne kiya lekin ab tum jo bhi faisla karogi woh hume manzoor hoga." She assured me.
A soft smile adorned her face when Dev entered the room with a folder in his hands. And Nani immediately left citing an excuse.
An uneasy silence settled in the room.
Dev directly walked up to the window of my room, keeping the folder on the table nearby he stood gazing outside with his back towards me. I nervously looked here and there trying to comprehend what was on his mind, finally giving up I kept staring at his back waiting for him to start.
After what seemed as ages he spoke.
"Tara I'm sorry...for everything!" I was caught off guard by his sudden confession. After a few moments of silence he spoke out again.
"Kal tak Nani chahti thi ke main tumse door rahu aur...aaj main khud tumhaare saamne nahi aana chahta tha, kyunki main tumhaare puraane (old) ghaav (wounds) ko kured (scratch out) kar tumhe aur takleef (pain) nahi pohuchana chahta tha lekin...aaj kismat (destiny) ne phir se hum dono ki zindagi ka rukh (direction) mod (change) diya hain aur hume ek dusre ke saath jod (bind) diya hain. Iss custody case se tum dono ko bachaane ke liye hume Aakash ka hi wajood (existence) tumhaari zindagi se mitana (wipe off) pada. Aaj phir se jaane-anjaane mein main tumhaare dukh ki wajah ban gaya lekin please mera yakeen karo ke mere paas aur koi raasta nahi tha."
"Main jaanta hoon ke aaj mera yeh sach...mere kahe gaye har jhooth ke boj tale dab jaayega! Kyunki maine aaj tak sabse sirf jhooth bola hain, fareb kiya hain, dhoka diya hain, vishwaas toda hain. pne har rishtey ke saath sirf beimaani ki hain!" He paused.
I didn't know how to react, what to say, what to do. It was all so confusing and awkward . I felt as if I was being pulled in a whirlwind of emotions and confusions. Clueless about what future holds for me?
When I finally assumed that he was here to voice out his confession and now was done with it but...
"Dost kehelaneka haq aur tumhaara yakeen toh main pehle hi kho chuka hoon lekin phir bhi ho sake sirf iss baar mera vishwaas karo ke meri neeyat bilkul saaf hain aur main ab tumhe dhoka nahi doonga!...Duniya ki nazar mein hum pati-patni rahenge kyunki yeh zaroori hain. Stating his point he picked up the folder and walked towards the bed.
His each step towards me was raising my heartbeats, my heart hammered hard against my chest. A unnamed feeling surging within me which I couldn't word or reason out. Everything between us was ruined beyond repair and now to make a start all over again...
"Yeh tumhaari amaanat hain Tara...Tumhaare aur Aakash ke rishtey ki kuch saugaat (memories) aur saboot (proofs) ." Handing me the folder he revealed and dashed out of the room.
Leaving me all alone to fight the memories of my past and the worries of my future!
FEW DAYS LATER
KHURANA MANSION
[Maan's POV]
It had been a very long and tiring day today. After much difficulty I had finally managed to put a tired and cranky Geet to sleep and then walked to my study to catch up on some work. We were just back home after attending Teji-Pammi's wedding followed by a family dinner in the newly opened Papaji's (Mohinder) restaurant.
Apparently few days ago Pammi, accompanied by Taiji and Teji had gone for her routine check up in the hospital unaware of the fact that Brij was admitted in the same hospital. Brij who was in a bid to escape from the police got an apt opportunity seeing Pammi there. He caught hold of her as his shield and managed to escape from the hospital but in the whole aggression Pammi was badly injured and was almost on the verge of loosing her baby. Teji had single handedly fought Brij and his goons and managed to rescue Pammi from the evil clutches of Brij in time. Taiji who was badly shaken up with this incident was adamant to get Pammi-Teji married at earliest cos she was sure that Teji, who unconditionally loved Pammi will always keep her happy and safe.
It was quick registered wedding keeping in mind both Geet and Pammi were pregnant and couldn't cope up with the stress of various functions and rituals, so yesterday night there was small family mehendi function and a haldi rasam in the morning for shagun. As Pammi was pregnant, they couldn't go ahead with the regular ceremonial wedding so instead opted for a register marriage in the temple.
{ PS: According to Hindu Mythology, a pregnant woman cannot perform certain pujas nor can she take the holy 7 pheras (7 marital vows around the fire), cos she is carrying a life within her so while taking pheras automatically even the child (specially if its a girl child) too will be taking pheras with the groom. Though not many are aware of it and even our TV shows n movies take creative liberty according to the situation.}
On my way to the study while crossing Dadaji and Dadimaa's room I got to see the after-effects of my plan on the two biggest trouble makers of my life. Yash and Vicky really had a great time worsening the situations for me, making the most out of Geet's pregnancy cravings, mood swings etc teasing, troubling, laughing at my plight and not to forget making my life hell with their nonsense plans.
They had crossed all limits of my tolerance!
The other day {Reference - Last update} in the office as usual they were mocking and laughing at me, though Vicky stood tongue-tied not uttering much but still not missing that faint taunting smile plastered on his face all the while. I very well knew Vicky was Geet's partner in crime and he had brought those posters of that damn hero n even glued them all over my room. Yash another prankster who was always upto something to irk me very well aware that I would never deny Geet anything especially during her pregnancy. They both were playing a double game with me, one side by helping Geet out they remained in her good books but their main motive was to target me with their weird ideas and pranks and then enjoy on my cost!
Coming to the conclusion of teaching both of them a lesson of their lifetime I hatched a plan!
After Arjun's abrupt exit post Dev's call, Mr Yash the great, was giving me gyan how to keep your girlfriend, fiance and wife in your control etc etc... While he was boasting about himself I quickly dialed a call to Annie. I was well aware of the fact that today Annie, Meera and Pari were meeting up for lunch as today morning they had come to seek my permission to take Geet along, but Geet herself had refused as she was very tired owing to her morning sickness. Grabbing this golden chance I implemented my plan knowing it would surely be bang on target!
Unaware of the fact that their each word uttered here will clearly reach the girls there, Yash went on and on and to my luck even Vicky prompted in some of his expert advice thereby digging their own grave! . I smirked at the success of my plan...Now they will get the taste of their own medicine!
"Chalo Maan...ab aayega asli mazaa!" I patted myself mentally.
I nonchalantly walked inside the room with the clear intention to reap in the rewards of my plan and also to have some fun today for a change they were on a receiving end. Resting my head in Dadimaa's lap I lied down on their bed while Dadaji and Dad were comfortably seated on the recliners. Maa too entered followed by Nakul who brought in coffee for everybody.
So let the drama begin...
"Vicky aur main aap sab logon ke paas hamaari dukh-bhari fariyaad (heart wrenching complaint) leke aaye hain...aur ab app sabko hi hum dono ko bachana hoga, inn ladkiyon ke torture se...Kuch dino se Meera aur Pari ne hamaara jeena haraam kar diya hain!"
"Roz...Dadaji-Dadimaa roz hume pareshaan karne ka ek bhi mauka nahi chodte yeh dono." Yash complained.
"Haan...Yash Bhai bilkul theek keh rahe hain. Har cheez ki hadd hoti hain. Yeh toh sarasar anyaay aur aatyaachaar hain hamaare saath!" Vicky dramatically added.
"Aap ko pata nahi hain Dadaji, inn kuch dino mein Delhi ka ek bhi...ek bhi...mall nahi choda hain, har ek mall ki khaankh chaan li hain humne (chase around, explored thoroughly). Hume emotional blackmail kar kar ke yahaan-wahaan le jaate hain...kabhi iss restuarant mein jaana hain kabhi uss mein jaana hain...shopping ke naam par hamara haal behaal kar diya hain!"
"Bewakoofon ki tarah hume apna kaam chod ke inke peeche peeche ghomna padta hain...har mall mein ghoomte rehte hain, trial room mein ghanto (hrs) tak outfits try karte hain aur kharidte kuch bhi nahi aur bolte hain kuch khaas nahi tha kahin aur jaate hain." Yash imitated them.
I was truly enjoying this melodrama! For the first time it was getting really hard for me to mask my amusement and to maintain a straight face. My plan had turned out exactly the way I wanted it to! And now it was Vicky's turn to whine.
"Dekho Maa...dekho...ab toh meri aankhon (eyes) ke neeche dark circles bhi ho gaye hain."
"Aap ko pata hain parson raat (day before yesterday) ko XYZ Mall mein night shopping offer tha, raat ko 3 baje tak hum wahan paagalon ki tarah ghoom rahe the aur inn dono ne kuch bhi nahi kharida upar se kehte hain hum toh timepass karne aaye the. Phir next day conveniently office bhi bunk kar diya, obviously princesses bahot thak gaye the na toh beauty sleep toh poori honi chahiye!...Aur hum toh aivay hain, inki 24/7 service bhi karo, office bhi jao aur kaam bhi karo." He expressed sarcastically.
"Ab aaya na utt pahad ke neeche!" I chuckled witnessing Vicky's dramatic outburst.
Vicky, right now reminded me of a small kid complaining to his parents about something. I just couldn't control myself and Vicky was sharp enough to notice my reaction and targeted me next.
"Dadaji-Dadimaa yeh...yeh Bro bhi ladkiyon saath mile hue hain...Pata hain uss din Khurana Constructions ki bahot important presentation tha aur phir bhi Pari ke ek baar kehne par Bro ne mujhe uske saath bhej diya."
"Pehle main jab bhi unse half day ya leave maangta toh kitna lecturte sunate aur phir bhi leave nahi dete...aur ab kuch nahi bolte...jo bhi yeh ladkiyaan kehti hain woh permission de dete hain." All eyes turned to me and I feigned ignorance to all the happenings, shrugging off my shoulders and nodding in a no I spoke.
"Jab main mana karta tha toh bura banta tha...ab main allow karta hoon tab bhi main hi bura banta hoon!" I defended myself keeping up the most earnest expression.
Everybody readily bought in my act except Dadaji who's gaze fixed on me clearly indicating that he had seen through my facade. I quickly averted my gaze concentrating on the live entertainment in the room. Dadimaa now sensing the seriousness of the situation told the girls not to trouble the guys anymore, before the girls could put forward their side of story Maa who was lost in some deep thought but suddenly...
"Yeh XYZ Mall toh wohi hain na...jahan stock clearing sale laga hain...aur hum sab kal dopahar ko wahan shopping karne gaye the" Maa blurted out the truth.
"Oh! ab main samjhi!...Issiliye tum dono ko pata tha ke kaunsi cheez kahan milegi." Not expecting Maa to leak out their game plan now both Meera and Pari were caught off guard!
Grabbing this opportunity both Yash and Vicky lashed out all their frustration that how these girls were torturing and fooling them. They are making them dance on their tunes etc...
Finally the girls owned up that they were deliberately troubling the guys to teach them a lesson and how Yash and Vicky boast about their superiority, and gave tips to all as to how to control your wife or girlfriend, making fun of them behind their backs etc. Thats why they were giving them a taste of their own medicine.
Right at the moment Annie and Arjun too entered the room. Getting a brief of the ongoing fiasco here Annie too joined in supporting the girls while Arjun sat beside me patting my back he proclaimed.
"So the winner is Mr Maan Singh Khurana! Who has finally succeeded in seeking his revenge and how!!!!!!" I instantly sat up, now that the cat was out of the bag and it was no point to pretend.
While Annie narrated all the events behind the so called torture drama Arjun too added how both Yash and Vicky had been plotting, mocking, teasing and enjoying my plight due to Geet's constant cravings and mood swings. Finally the elders intervened and all was settled. Yash and Vicky were seriously warned against any such nonsense in future and the girls too were notified not trouble the guys anymore.
We all had a real good laugh on the entire incident unaware of the fact that one pair of eyes had witnessed it all!
After spending some quality time with my family I returned to our room only find Geet in deep slumber. I walked up to my side and sat gazing at my sleeping beauty. The faint moonlight adding an angelic glow to her face. I pushed those curls behind her ear annoyed that they were shielding her beautiful features, lightly caressing her head I kissed her and our baby good night. I instantly lied down to catch up on some sleep before I have to get going on another round of my net shift. It wasn't long before sleep took over me as the fatigue and stress of past few days were taking a toll on me. Post midnight a kind of restlessness, an emptiness settled in my heart though I was still feeling very sleepy but something was bothering me but why?
I turned in my sleep and tried to hold Geet close to me but...
Soon a crashing sound broke my slumber and I got up with a start! Not finding Geet near me I panicked, before I could reason out anything another loud sound followed making me to rush towards the direction. It was the room next door, earlier we would use it as a mini TV room but now that a new member was entering our life Geet and I personally designed and decorated it for our little angel.
A sudden fear was gripping my heart and I just hoped Geet was fine!
A pushed open the door and the sight that braced me shocked as well as amused me!
Geet was seated on the floor with a piles of containers, food packets, chocolates etc... scattered around her. She nervously looked at me with her hands up in the air, her face smeared, her hands all messed with up with chocolate. I assume she might be craving for something and must be searching for it. And in her haste a few jars had tumbled down ruining her secret midnight snack party. I grinned in relief and walked up to her.
I carefully helped her out of the tumbled down castle of varied food articles. I sat down making her sit diagonally on my lap, grabbing some tissues from the nearby stand I cleaned up her messy form. She rested her head on my heart sat quietly without uttering a single word. It seemed very strange to me, very unlike My Geet!
I waited for few more moments but when she didn't speak up I delicately asked her.
"Kya baat hain Geet...tum yahan aise akele kyun baithi thi?
She stiffened instantly but I firmly held her to me clearly giving out the message that I needed my answers.
"Woh...main...mujhe bhook lagi thi na... issiliye." She mumbled slowly.
I gradually queried again framing my words properly not wanting her to panic.
"Yeh saara samaan yahan kaise aaya?"
She tried to wriggle out but I kept caressing her back assuringly to calm her down and finally she whispered.
"Main...yeh sab upar le kar aayi."
Her reply instantly triggered my temper but I held on, knowing very well it will scare her. I paused for a few moments trying to get a grip over myself and then voiced out my concern.
"Kyun Geet?...Tum itni saari cheeze khud neeche kitchen se yahan lekar aayi...ek baar bhi nahi socha ke... itna stress tumhaare liye theek nahi hain...mujhe bol deti." A lump formed in my throat.
The mere thought that she had been running up and down carrying so many items all this while not only angered me but also pained me. She must be so tired! Probably thats why I was so restless in my sleep. I was so lost in my thoughts that I failed to hear what Geet mumbled.
I placed my fingers below her chin and lifted her face making her look at me. She again repeated.
"Main aap ko pareshaan nahi karna chahti thi...par mujhe sacchi bahot bhook lagi thi." She earnestly admitted, her eyes teary with guilt and pain. I slowly wiped her tears that rolled down her cheeks and questioned.
"Mujhe kyun nahi jagaya...main tumhaari help kar deta." I rued.
"Aap so rahe the na!" She stated nervously not meeting my gaze.
Her statement alarmed me! Cupping her face to me I looked in her eyes to clear my doubt but My Geet never disappoints me she herself revealed that she had overheard the entire conversation in Dadaji's room.
"I'm so sorry Maan! Meri wajah se aap ko itni pareshaani ho rahi thi, maine aap ko kitna trouble kiya...lekin maine jaan kar nahi kiya..."
"Oh Geet!" I hugged her tightly to me, feeling so guilty to have unknowingly caused her so much pain.
"Tum aisa soch bhi kaise sakti ho! Main hamaare zindagi ke yeh khaas pal ka hissa ban na chahta hoon, isse jee bhar ke jeena chahta hoon. Mujhe khushi milti hain...pareshaani nahi hoti...Samjhi tum." I tried to ease away her guilt.
"BB...I'm really sorry!... yeh sab sirf meri wajah se hua hain... Please aap mat royiye...hum log toh mazaak kar rahe the...aap ka toh poora haq banta hain ke aap hum sab par order kare... Aap ke aur Junior ke liye hum kuch bhi kar sakte hain!" A guilt ridden Vicky rushed to us to apologize to Geet.
Only then did Geet and I realize that the loud noises had awakened the entire family and they had come to check on us. Dadimaa and Maa too lovingly caressed Geet and declared.
"Beta yeh sach much aap ka haq hain...iss mein bura maan ne ki koi baat nahi hain. Yeh woh yaadein hain jo hamesha aap dono ko jode rakhenge iss ehsaas se, aap ke bacche se aur inn choti choti khushiyon se. Inhe khul kar jee lijiye!" Dadimaa emotionally declared.
"Haan aur inn bewakoofon ki baaton par bilkul dhyaan mat dena, balke tumhe toh Vicky aur Yash dono ko sazaa deni chahiye aakhir unhone tumhaare Maan ko itna pareshaan jo kiya aur tumhe itna rulaya. Chalo bolo kya sazaa deni hain inhe?" Maa tried to ease off the tension.
"Inki sazaa yeh hogi ke kal poora din Yash aur Vicky, Geet aur Maan dono ki seva karenge unki har baat maanege, har khwaaish poori karenge!" Dadaji announced in finality.
Geet finally smiled and Vicky readily agreed to abide the given task. I know he may fool around but he truly adores and respects Geet and today her tears had pained him too. With everything sorted out all moved towards their room while I lifted Geet up and headed out of the Mansion. I smiled at her questioning look and I affirmed.
"Geet main jaanta hoon ke tumhe choclate nahi balke kuch aur khana tha... Maan ke hote hue uski Meeshti ki har khwaaish poori hogi!"
JAIL
[Vikram's POV]
Finally I got hold an opportunity to meet Ayesha. I bribed some guards and they allowed me to meet her during dinner time, as all the other prisoners of the ladies cell had gone for their dinner and the course was clear.
I got to know from them that from the day she is here not once has she spoken to someone nor has come out of her cell except for some legal formalities. She is still in a state of shock. But I'm sure after our meeting things will change!
I glanced at the lone figure sitting in the far corner of the cell. I knew she will not look up towards me so I had give a heavy duty dose to gain some reactions from her.
"Hi Ayesha...kaisi ho...dekho main tumhe milne aaya hoon." No reaction so I continued.
"Pata hain mujhe yahan bilkul accha nahi lagta...aur tum bhi toh akeli pad gayi ho issiliye maine socha ke... tumhe company bhi mil jaaye aur mera bhi kuch entertainment ho jaaye...and who better than Pari!" As assumed she was infuriated by the mere mention of Pari and instantly looked at me. Contented to have gained her reaction I rubbed in more.
"Tumhe Dev ne bataya nahi ke main Pari ko kitna chahta hoon aur usse apne..." Before I could complete my statement Ayesha pounced on me like a wounded tigress. She smacked my face with so much force that I stumbled behind with the impact but she held my neck in her tight grip nearly choking me.
"Agar apni gandi zubaan se meri beti ka naam bhi liya toh main tujhe jaan se maar doongi!" She exclaimed fiercely for the first time scaring the wits out of me. I started gasping for breath and was struggling to get out of her hold, thankfully those guards came to my rescue and I was freed from her clutches.
I nearly fainted due to lack of air but after a few moments I stabled myself I proudly challenged her.
"Khurana's aur Khanna's ki kamzor kadi kaun...Pari!...Aur ab usse tum sab ke kiye ki sazaa milegi...Aaj raat ko...BOOM!!!!!!!! Aur kal subah woh tumhaare...Oops Sorry!...Mere paas yahan hogi aur phir main uske saath...." I whispered vicously knowing that this mere whisper will echo in the lives of Khurana's and Khanna's shaking up not only them but even their foundations!
I walked away feeling vindicated! Leaving behind a struggling, shouting, pleading Ayesha in the tight grip of the guards.
Tomorrow my mission will be accomplished and the downfall of my enemies will begin. They ruined my brother, my family! I will ruin their generations!
