Also there is a leap of few months so I have given a brief narrative of the happenings during these months. HPK.. is ending in a couple of updates so just setting in a stage for climax! Friends I have just taken some creative liberty and weaved in this update cos I'm not very sure about pregnancy moodswings and reactions. Apologies in advance incase of any goof up

Recap
The story begins when a shocked Maan encounters a visibly troubled Geet on a deserted road on a stormy night! Circumstances n events from both their past unfold and finally Maaneet overcome all the distances n hurdles between them to become One! Maan's family readily accepts Geet into their life inspite of her being the daughter of their arch rival Handa's. Maan gathers all the information regarding Geet's past ... also comes across the deep hidden truths about their family's enmity ... Appalled and angered by the facts Maan along with his family and friends vows to avenge all those who are responsible for his family's pains!
The revenge game begins and Handa's and Khanna's pay for their dirty deeds respectively!
Maan inorder to safeguard Geet and to plan and implement his revenge smoothly ... had kept his marriage with Geet a close guarded secret but after accomplishing his goal to an extent ... Khurana's finally introduce Mrs Geet Maan singh Khurana to the world! The power, the fame and the happiness in the Khurana household pierces through the hearts of Handa and Khanna family.
Overwhelmed about Geet being safe with Maan, Mohinder finally distances himself from from the senior Handa's to secure the future of his children. Tayiji too walks out with Mohinder taking Rajji n Pammi not wanting both her daughters life to be ruined like Geet. Mohinder n Teji also teams up with the Khurana's to avenge all pains Daarji n Rajinder caused his family members.
Daarji and Rajinder are left weakened when Brij is arrested for various charges but the main one being of molesting a reputed journalist Rhea, whose family too has been a victim at the hands of Handa's.
Here Pari too supports Khurana's and snaps off all her ties with Ayesha and Dev taking over Khanna Cements from their evil clutches. Seething with the constant humiliation at hands of Khurana's ... Ayesha teams up with a stranger, Vikram and manages to kidnap a pregnant Geet and Aparna.
Dev who has been misguided by his mom and lured into the path of wrong is being used as a weapon against the Khurana's but somewhere in the depths of his heart ... the virtues instilled by his father Aman still lay buried and then a livid and heartbroken Pari's outburst for kidnapping a pregnant Geet, manages to jolt him out ... giving him a much needed reality check!
Aparna who always harboured a soft corner for Dev, very well knowing how cunningly Ayesha has ruined his life senses Dev's emotional turmoil between his virtues and vices and grabbing this opportunity Aparna manages to bring out the entire truth about Ayesha's misdeeds in front of Dev.
A shattered Dev finally lives up to the virtues and upbringing of his father Aman and rescues Geet from the clutches of Vikram and Ayesha. A lot of other truths too surface out revealing Vikram's true intentions (who is also here to seek revenge from both Khanna's and Khurana's) But Maan and Dev manage to save Geet and Aparna in time and get both Vikram and Ayesha are arrested, while a wounded Dev reaches Apna Ghar to seek solace in the arms of his Nani.
Dev's meaningless life takes up a new direction as Naintara enters his life again! Dev marries NT to safegaurd the future of NT n her baby from viscous family of NT's deceased husband Akash.
Life was becoming peaceful and positive for both Khanna and Khurana families when Vikram strikes again this time targeting Pari but Ayesha's presence of mind sabotages his plan. Maan and Dev team up yet again and manage to safeguard Pari and restore Khanna Cement reputation in time.
PART 69
LEAP (COUPLE OF MONTHS)
KHURANA's
Maaneet nok jhoks as usual continues...
And preggy Geet's moodswings and cravings still keep Maan on his toes 24/7 😉 Though after the last showdown Yash and Vicky never dared to add on more troubles for Maan but still once in a while they do create such situations ... indirectly prompting the girls to give weird ideas to Geet. Geet's and her babies health is much better under the strict vigilience of Maan, Aparna n Dadi. Geet has put on quite an amount of weight thanks to shudh desi Punjabi food that is forcefully fed her.
One side Geet is battling with her issues regarding each and every thing happening in her life knocking the daylights out of Maan! While on the other side inspite of toll of handling a cranky Geet ... Maan is a happy man now as his babies have teamed up with him forcing Geet to relish bland Italian food just the way their daddy dearest likes it!
Poor Geet is torn between push n pull game of Punjabi v/s Italian food! So the drama continues...
Khurana household is beaming with happiness as their family had crossed all troubled waters. Professionally Raj and Vicky are handling KC projects while Maan's total focus currently remains on Dadaji's dream project which is moving on a fast pace under the expert guidance of Dadaji himself accompanied by Maan's sharp vision and his talented team.
Arjun-Annie, Yash-Meera and Vicky- Pari's marriage is postponed for a few months as the family wishes to include their next generation in the wedding celebrations.
KHANNA's
Here Dev-Tara relation too blooms as their baby has bonded them together! Dev has taken over the reigns of Khanna cements after Pari refused to handle it post the flyover issue. This time Dev has lived up to his father's trust in him and brought back the glory of their company again!
Ayesha who had deliberately injured herself inorder to alert the Khurana's about Vikram's plan to trap Pari suffered a major head injury and had slipped in coma. In these months Ayesha had gained consciousness but she was partially paralyzed, Nanimaa and NT tried to bridge in the gap between Ayesha - Dev and Pari, who had ripped off all relations with their mom after knowing about her dirty games in the past.
Khurana's had dropped off their case against Ayesha seeing her medical condition and inspite of Dev's refusal Nanimaa had brought Ayesha back home as she felt a happy family environment will help her recover soon. Dev remained distanced from his mom while Pari did forgive her. NT had managed to win over Ayesha's heart by her unconditional care and concern.
HANDA's
Mohinder's hotel was soaring new heights and finally his long lost dream did come true! Maan had handed over reigns of Handa group to Teji. Maan and Geet had managed to persuade their family to accept Lucky and Rajji's relation and now both were happily engaged. Pammi and Teji too would be welcoming their baby soon. Brij who is absconding is still not traced. Vikram's main aid George was supposedly involved in helping Brij...
Daarji and Rajinder were left alone in the Handa Haveli to witness their doom!
Vikram's aids in the jail who helped him earlier were hunted and punished. Maan had pulled the necessary strings and ensured Vikram was grounded making him incapable of operating or implementing any other plan against their families from the jail.
The men inorder to ensure a happy and safe atmosphere in their homes had a silent pack amongst themselves and keeping the womenfolk in dark about Brij still being at loose. Though the security around their homes had been beefed up and a very close watch was being kept on Handa's and Vikram in a bid to trace Brij.
Vicky remained cordial to Dev thanks to Pari but Maan and Dev maintained a healthy distance from each other though there wasn't any friction but still they couldn't bring themselves to break the ice. Pari had tried a lot but Nanimaa mediated ... halting Pari's amateur attempts for bringing them close explaining her that
'Its better to leave somethings untouched and let time do the needful!'
Here the womenfolk had all got along like house on fire. NT was openly welcomed by the girls in their group. Their group shopings, afternoon parties, movies etc had become a usual thing provided all was arranged at home! Luckily with three pregnant women it was easier for men to persuade them as their main priority at the moment was to end the whole revenge ordeal at the earliest!
Life seemed peaceful but only the men knew it was just a momentary calm before the arrival of the storm!
With tension looming over them, the families were celebrating NT's 'Godh Bharai' function at Khanna House. Geet's 'Godh Bharai' was scheduled sometime later. Though it was a ladies function but not wanting to take a chance the men had joined in, ofcourse not attending the rituals but had all gathered up in Dev's study while the ladies were busy with their rituals in the main hall.
KHANNA HOUSE
[Geet's POV]
We were done with all the rituals of NT's godh bharai, all the elder ladies had grouped up in one part remembering their times and enjoying the memories while we, the younger lot had settled in another corner of the hall enjoying latest gossips. All the men had grouped up in Dev's study. Sometimes I really wonder what they keep discussing and always seem so busy and worried.
And the busiest of them all ... my dearest husband Maan! ... Who has still not turned up for the function! Unknowingly my eyes would turn towards the main door every now n then to catch a glimpse of Maan.
Infact he had left very early today due to some important meeting promising to pick me up from home before the ceremony. Everybody had already left for Khanna House to help in preparations and I was left all alone battling with the god damn blouse, which I had got sticthed just last week but wasn't fitting me today.
Seems I have gained more weight again ... I was so damn angry and upset !
In a fit of rage I had shunned everything away and decided not to attend the function at all but then Mom (Aaprna) called requesting me to not wait for Maan and come soon atleast for sometime as NT would like it. Maa (Rano) had came over to pick me up from home and had also altered my blouse so finally I could wear it.
We all were just chatting randomly when unknowingly Pari blurted out that Maan had called up Mom informing that he couldn't pick me up from home as he would be late. Annie n Meera had immediately changed the topic nudging her but guess it was too late cos I had heard it!
Mrs Raheja one of our common family friend joined us and a beaming Annie readily welcomed her to catch up on some spicy hot news. Its always entertaining to hear from Mrs Raheja, she talks animatedly with those latka n jhatkas! Annie, Meera, Pari always imitate her actions sitting behind her. We could hardly control our laughter but I guess after you laugh too much probably its time to cry and thats exactly what happened.
Mrs Raheja was informing us about some relative of her, whose marriage was on rocks post her pregnancy cos her husband started loosing interest in her, some other ladies too joined in complaining how husbands start avoiding their wives during pregnancy and then after delivering they just loose interest in their wives as she has gained lots of weight, being busy with the baby she has no time for husbands etc. Pammi bhabhi, NT n I kept gaping at them in disbelief!
A chill ran down my spine when they started mentioning the hints that clearly indicate that hubby's are distancing themselves when Annie tried to argue Mrs Raheja snubbed her off warning her that not only married men but even fiances n boyfriends in fear of loosing their space and independence shy away from marriage.
That hit hard!!
Her each reasoning of excuses used by men like being busy, important meetings, feigning fatigue, ignoring their calls, not interested in your talks etc were so true!
Offlate all the men were citing these same excuses and ignoring us! ...Specially Maan!!
Colour drained off of all our faces hearing thier statements ... It seemed like our heart n mind were at war! What was supposed to be a entertaining conversation turned out to be a frightening nightmare for all of us!
I tried to pacify myself that Maan can never ignore me but all my reasoning ceased when a young woman along with a security guard entered through the main door. As our group was nearest to the door the guard walked up to NT and informed that this woman was adamant to meet Dev n Maan. NT introduced herself and the lady smiled at NT but her look held some deep emotion! ... Something which incomprehensible ... unfathomable!
I felt my heart racing at the mere mention of Maan. Why does this woman want to meet Maan, if it was some professional issue she could meet them in office, why was she here etc ...
The list was endless...
NT who too was deeply affected by our earlier discussion and now this lady's abrupt arrival had left us all stunned! NT looked at me meaningfully and then nervously inquired about her and the reason for meeting them here at home ... at this time!
Confirming our doubt!
She fumbled ... seemingly uncomfortable she spoke that its personal n she would only discuss it with them. Before we could react or question her any further ... Maan entered. He scanned around the hall n then his gaze settled on me, his expressions softened as he walked towards me but halted midway as that woman rushed to him and softly told him something. Immediately Maan's stance changed and he escorted the woman towards the study not even sparing me a look!
The entire episode didn't miss Mrs Raheja's sharp eyes and she rubbed in more.
"Dekha yeh saare mard ek jaise hote hain aur ladkiyaan aise hi mauke ka faayda utha ti hain ... emotionally blackmail karti hain ... tum sab sun lo ab bhi waqt hain ... apne apne patiyon pe nazar rakho ... parayi aurton se door rakho warna...!!"
It was so embarrassing and humiliating!
And to add to my miseries our common Dr came in to congratulate NT, after exchanging pleasantries with all she sat beside me inquiring about my health etc. Inquisitive from the latest happenings I tried to indirectly know from the Dr wether we could initiate intimacy and she laughed lightly telling me that she had already informed Maan sometime back.
That snapped my last thread of doubt!!
We tried sending Pari with refreshments to the study to get an idea of what was transpiring there? Sometime back that woman refused to answer us citing it to be a personal issue now she had no problem going and discussing with so many men in the study. When Pari knocked on the door with the tray Vicky peeped out slightly not even opening the door properly and grabbed the tray practically shunning Pari away.
Every passing moment was scaring us all!
And finally the woman rushed out this time along with Arjun, Yash and Vicky confusing us more.
Mrs Raheja spoke out again sprinkling some more salt on our wounds.
"Aayi thi Maan aur Dev se milne ... aur bahar gayi Arjun, Yash aur Vicky ke saath ... kya zamaana aaya hain ... Bhagwaan jaane kya hoga! ... Ghor Kalyug hain..."

KHURANA MANSION
I was pacing restlessly in my room! ... Todays events had left me clueless of where my life was heading?
Maan was still not back ... Infact Teji veerji, Maan and Dev had left from Khanna house shortly after that woman left ofcourse not even bothering to inform us! I had come home dejected and angry! Tired of wearing a heavy saree thought to change into something light n comfortable ... I ransacked my wardrobe for a nightie but non fit me now! I settled for my plus size, what I call a gunny bag fit gown and thankfully I could fit in that!!!!
Suddenly something struck me and I looked out for it! Those magazines which have questionnaires to evaluate ur relationship status I sat and filled in the details and all of them gave me warning signals.
I needed to get Maan back on track ... I will not let him to take me for granted!
"Geet thand rakh ... gussa karne se baat aur bigad jaayegi ... Maan par nazar rakhni hogi ... woh Mrs Raheja kya keh rahi thi? ... Haan Maan ko qabu (control) mein rakhna hoga ... Yahin sahi hoga!" I mentally coaxed myself.
As an awesome idea struck me I headed down.
Gulping down the last morsel I spoke out caressing my bulging tummy.
"Dekho mujhe maloom hain ke tum dono apne Dad ke saath mil kar mujhe hamesha akela kar dete ho ... lekin aaj agar tum dono ne apne Dad ka saath diya na toh main tum dono se kabhi baat nahi karungi"
"Bhook na hote hue bhi maine sirf tum dono ke liye itna kuch kha liya... khatta ... meetha ... chatpatta ... Indian ... Italian sab kuch kha liya hain ... Please aaj mera saath dena aur raat ko mat uthna ...Yeh tumhari mummy ke self respect ka sawaal hain!"
"Tum dono aaj mera saath doge na?" I asked and they instantly replied by their movements.
"Thank you my darlings! ... Mumma loves U!" I blew kisses to them as I couldn't bend n kiss them.
Nakul cleaned up the room and I retired to bed and luckily both were calm inside probably today was my lucky day cos they were supporting me!
[Maan's POV]
"Maan aaj toh tu gaya!" I mentally smacked myself entering our room. I could clearly visualize livid n seething Geet waiting to pounce on me but to my surprise the room was plunged into darkness.
"Maan ho sakta hain aaj andhere mein band bajayegi ... sambhal kar..." I knew no amount of pacifying will help today as I had rubbed on to her wrong side. First I couldn't pick her up for the puja, then the sudden arrival of that woman and now inspite of hurrying with my tasks I am so late!
I switched on the light carefully but the sight that braced me was quite rare offlate!
Geet was fast sleep and seemed at peace probably my babies weren't being naughty today and letting their mummy sleep peacefully. I walked up to the bed and stood their lovingly gazing at the angels of my life. I bent down to caress her tummy but then halted my hand remembering something. Heading to the washroom I freshened up and was back sitting beside my Meeshti caressing my babies.
It was babies and papa chat time and was sure soon Geet too will be up for midnight cravings.
" Hello my darlings! ... Daddy is back ... I missed u!" I called out to them kissing her stomach and immediately I felt their movement from both the sides like both were acknowledging my presence but then a very rare thing happened today Geet placed her one hand on her tummy lightly patting on it and suddenly their movement stopped. I looked at her closely she was indeed fast asleep but babies not reverting back to me was very strange!
"Kya hua aaj Papa ke saath baat nahi karni?" I tried again but again no reply.
"Lagta aaj mummy ke saath saath babies bhi papa se naaraaz hain!" I ruefully announced trying my luck again but I guess indeed all of them were mad at me.
I laid down on my side resting my one hand on Geet's forehead and other on her tummy caressing them unknowingly I dozed off waiting for her get up for her cravings and also thinking of ways of pacifying my angry Meeshti!
I snapped out from my sleep suddenly and turned to check the time. Shocked would be an understatement as it was 9 in the morning. How could I sleep for so long. I brushed my hair back not sure wether Geet woke me up last night or not. I just hoped she hadn't woken up last night or I would hate myself on diiscovering that I had been sleeping all the while when she needed me!
I freshened up quickly and rushed down to do some damage control. The mere reaction of Geet was scaring me!
"Geet ... Geet..." I called out to her while descending the steps but she was nowhere to be found. I walked inside the dinning room only to see Annie on the breakfast table . I asked her.
"Annie ... Geet kahan hain?"
She conveniently ignored me and pretended to be reading the newspaper. This was enough for me to get a whiff of the situation ... That Annie knew!
" Annie ... main tumse kuch pooch raha hoon ... Geet kahan hain?" I tried to keep my temper in check but this time too she didn't reply triggering my temper.
"ANNIE ... " I grabbed her arm turning her towards me when rest of the family joined us except Geet. All their reactions clearly disapproving of my act. Taking a deep breath I queried again.
"Aakhri baar pooch raha hoon Geet kahan hain?" She still didn't answer me but Mom informed me that Geet had gone over to Papa n Maa house (Mohinder n Rano) as she wished to stay with them for few days.
This information came as shock to me! I turned to Annie who was trying hard to hide her smirk proving that she was totally involved in this plan.
"Annie agar mujhe pata chala ke iss baar tumne kuch kiya hain toh..."
"Maine kuch nahi kiya hain yeh Geet ka apna decision tha!" She countered.
"Annie yeh kya tareeka hain Maan se baat karne ka?" Dad spoke out clearly annoyed by her tone.
"Main toh inse baat hi nahi kar rahi thi Bro hi mujhe provoke kar rahe hain!" She asserted angrily.
I just stood there shocked never has Annie behaved like this before ... We did have our share of push n pull games to outsmart each other but she has never been so rude!
"ANNIE..." Arjun's miffed voice broke my reverie. I turned to see Arjun, Yash, Aadi and Dev enter. In all this chaos it had slipped off my mind that I had called them home.
Maa invited them to join us and also inquired about NT's Dr's appointment to which Dev answered that NT wanted Nanimaa to accompany her today.
Though I was hearing the entire exchange of words but my attention was fixed on Annie whose expression flared up further hearing Dev's reply. Sensing my gaze on her she looked at me mockingly.
Mom was about to arrange their plates for breakfast when Annie spoke out.
"Mom yeh aap kya kar rahi hain ... in logon ka breakfast study mein arrange kijiye ... yeh sab yahan hamaare saath breakfast karne nahi balki important aur confidential discussions karne aaye hain!" I gaped at her in disbelief!
"Bekaar mein kyun inka time waste karna ... aakhir yeh sab kitne busy hain Mom ... dekho Dev specially important discussions ke liye NT ki appointment miss kar ke aaye hain ... aur Bro woh toh itne busy rehte hain aaj kal dikhte hi nahi hain ... aur sirf hum hain yahan bekaar ... jinke paas karne ke liye kuch nahi hain ... You know just wasting time!" She bit out ... Her each word dipped in sarcasm!
Yash who had lifted a glass of water spat out the content coughing out hearing Annie.
"Nakul inn sab ka breakfast upar study mein laga do" Annie ordered.
"Annie..." Vicky sternly spoke out.
"Annie kya.." Annie pounced on him forcing him to soften his voice.
"Dekho tum over react kar rahi ho" Not wanting to aggravate the situation he continued meekly.
"Main overeact kar rahi hoon ... yeah right ... Kal NT ki godh bharai mein woh aurat kaun thi ... Aur usse sirf Bro aur Dev se hi kyun milna tha ... phir study mein woh tum sab ke saath kyun thi ... aur jaate waqt tum sab uske saath kyun aur kahan gaye the?" She shot her questions to us not waiting for our reply she continued.
"Dadimaa ... Mom ... function attend karna toh door ki baat hain ... inn mein se kisi ne ...kisi ne NT ko wish bhi nahi kiya! Study mein hi gifts rakh kar sab ke sab gayab ho gaye wahan se ... woh bhi bina bataye!"
"Aur Bro woh toh best hain! ... Kal unhone Geet ko promise kiya tha ke woh dono function mein saath jaayenge lekin Geet ko lene aaye hi nahi ... Aur Mom ko phone kiya ke woh Geet ko handle kar le ... itna hi nahi Khanna House main aaye aur phir thodi hi der mein chale gaye ... Geet se baat karna toh door ek baar mile bhi nahi ... Aur kal raat ko bhi 12 baje tak ghar nahi aaye the!"
"... Aap poochiya na Mom ... Bro se ya Dad se ke aisa kaun sa important kaam hota hain ... office ka ... jo aadhi raat ko hota hain ... jis ke liye apni pregnant wife ko ignore and taken for granted le sakte hain!" She blurted out everything.
"Bewakoof samajh ke rakha hain hum sab ko ... jhooth bolte hain ... aur kabhi kabhi toh jawaab dena bhi zaroori nahi samajhte ... Sab ke sab mile hue hain ... Mrs Raheja theek kehti thi yeh sab mard ek jaise hote hain ... inn par kabhi bharosa nahi karna chahiye!" She exclaimed walking out.
Annie had ignited the flame and Dadimaa n Mom both glared at us suspiciously and then they too left the table clearly indicating they supported the girls while we all men stood there tongue tied!
"Yeh Mrs Raheja kaun hain yaar ... iski toh main..." Yash burst out.
Now all the pieces of the puzzle were falling into place. Yesterday nights events , Geet leaving, Annie angry, Vicky and Yash both informed that both Pari and Meera weren't answering their calls since last night, Pinky had been livid at Aadi and Dev too notified that NT too was behaving weirdly , he had let it go thinking maybe one of her mood swings but ...
After this showdown ... discussions was a far fetched idea. Dev hurried back home to handle the situation there before its too late. Arjun was trying to pacify Annie but she shut the door right on his face. Yash, Aadi n Vicky scurried away and Dadaji and Dad too headed to their respective rooms cos even they were in for some serious grilling but not before giving me a...
' You're so gone look!'
"Geet toh Geet ... kal toh mere bacchon ne bhi team badal di ... issiliye mujhse baat nahi kar rahe the ... Babaji ab mujhe kaun bachayega?"
I looked up anticipating some help cos this time I was in serious trouble!
