Director Ayan Mukerji has finally broken his silence on War 2, and it’s clear he’s filled with pride and excitement for the much-awaited action thriller. Just days after the teaser for the film dropped on May 20, 2025, to a mixed response, the filmmaker took to Instagram to share a heartfelt message, offering fans a glimpse into the journey behind the big-screen spectacle.

With Brahmastra 2 now on the back burner due to delays, all eyes have turned to War 2, and Ayan seems to be embracing this new chapter with open arms. In a candid note, he expressed his joy and gratitude towards the entire team behind the film. Along with the message, he also treated fans to some behind-the-scenes pictures, giving a peek into the making of what promises to be a cinematic extravaganza.

In his caption, Ayan reflected on how the teaser marks the beginning of the countdown, just 12 weeks to go until War 2 hits theatres on August 14, 2025. He highlighted that while the film is packed with large-scale action and spectacle, it’s the gripping and emotional story at its core that truly captured his heart. According to him, the narrative surprised him when he first heard it and has been both exciting and challenging to bring to life.

He also took a moment to shower praise on the film’s lead cast. Hrithik Roshan, who left fans swooning with his intense look in the teaser, was described as one of the “giants” of the film, alongside Telugu superstar Jr NTR. Ayan also gave a special shoutout to Kiara Advani, calling her “a ray of sunshine” in the film and a dear friend.
