WAR 2: Hrithik Roshan & Jr NTR's social face-off is the perfect tease to the rumoured first glimpse on May 20?

The makers of War 2 are ramping up the buzz ahead of Jr NTR’s birthday, and the film’s leads, Hrithik Roshan and Jr NTR, are doing their bit to keep the momentum going. On May 16, Hrithik threw a direct challenge to his co-star on social media, and Jr NTR did not hesitate to hit back.

Taking to X and Instagram, Hrithik wrote, “Hey @tarak9999, think you know what to expect on the 20th of May this year? Trust me you have NO idea what’s in store. Ready?”

Without wasting much time, Jr NTR responded, “Thank you in advance @iHrithik sir!!! Can’t wait to hunt you down to give you a special return gift Kabir… #War2.”

The back-and-forth sparked excitement online, with many expecting a major update about the film on May 20, which also happens to be Jr NTR’s birthday. Fans and industry insiders are speculating that a teaser or motion poster might be unveiled.

War 2, directed by Ayan Mukerji, is part of YRF’s ever-expanding Spy Universe. The film is set to release on August 14, 2025, in Hindi, Telugu, and Tamil. While Hrithik reprises his role as Kabir, Jr NTR is said to be playing the antagonist, marking his full-fledged Bollywood debut.

The film has already generated significant buzz, especially in Telugu-speaking states, where Jr NTR commands a massive fan base. As per reports, top producers like Suniel Narang and Naga Vamsi are in a tight race to acquire the Telugu distribution rights. The price being quoted ranges from Rs 85 crore to Rs 120 crore, according to a 123Telugu report.

With War 2, Yash Raj Films continues its push to build India's largest action franchise. This will be the sixth film in the YRF Spy Universe, which already includes titles like Ek Tha Tiger, Tiger Zinda Hai, War, Pathaan, and Tiger 3.
