Kargil Vijay Diwas, observed on July 26, commemorates India's triumph over Pakistan in the 1999 Kargil War, where Indian forces bravely recaptured strategic mountain positions in Ladakh's Kargil district. The war showcased the nation's military valor and resilience, and the day honors the ultimate sacrifices made by Indian soldiers.

Shershaah is a war drama film directed by Vishnuvardhan, starring Sidharth Malhotra as Captain Vikram Batra (and his twin brother Vishal) and Kiara Advani as Dimple Cheema. The film is based on the life of Captain Vikram Batra, a Param Vir Chakra awardee who played a crucial role in the Kargil War.

Shershaah chronicles Captain Vikram Batra's journey from a young cadet to a decorated officer, culminating in his ultimate sacrifice during the Kargil War's Operation Vijay in 1999. On the personal front, Sidharth Malhotra and Kiara Advani have joyfully welcomed a baby girl on July 15, 2025, at Mumbai's Reliance Hospital. Both mother and child are said to be in good health. The new parents shared the exciting news on Instagram with a sweet announcement, featuring a pink card that tenderly read, "Our hearts are full and our world forever changed. We are blessed with a baby girl."

Kiara Advani and Sidharth Malhotra's baby girl arrived earlier than expected. After spotting them at a maternity facility, concerns arose, and Kiara was admitted to H.N. Reliance Hospital in Mumbai, where she gave birth. The couple had announced her pregnancy in February, with an August due date.

The couple, who married in Jaisalmer, Rajasthan, in 2023, previously co-starred in the war film Shershaah in 2021.
