Varun Dhawan reveals he's figuring out fatherhood; says Natasha Dalal is a protective mother

In a recent interview, Varun Dhawan admitted that he is still in the process of figuring out fatherhood. He commended Natasha Dalal for being a hands-on mom.

Varun Dhawan and Natasha Dalal welcomed home a baby girl, Lara last year. She has turned a year old this June. The new dad has kept his baby girl away from social media except for a couple of pics where her face is hidden. In a recent interview, Varun Dhawan said that he is still figuring out fatherhood. He said he does not know how much responsible he has to be as a dad or be very playful with her. The Border 2 actor said he believed this problem was not unique to him. Varun Dhawan gave credit to his wife Natasha Dalal for being a hands-on mother to Lara.

He told ETimes, “Right now, Natasha is doing everything I have to give her credit. The woman does practically everything initially, then the man comes in and becomes useful.” Varun Dhawan candidly said he is trying to be a good dad. However, he is enjoying the role to the fullest. Like many new fathers, he loves to play with her. He said, “Being a dad is a lot of fun right now, and every day I'm trying to be a better dad. I don’t think I'm there yet.” The actor also shed light on how being a father has changed his routine. Now, he has to be mindful of things that did not matter when he did not have a kid. Varun said he watches TV at a really low volume nowadays or else Natasha Dalal will throw him out of the house.

Of late, he was busy shooting for Border 2. He plays the role of Hoshiyar Singh Dahiya in the movie. Varun Dhawan visited the hometown of the war hero to get into his character for Bhushan Kumar and Anurag Singh’s Border 2. The shoot has just finished. He also has Sunny Sanskaari Ki Tulsi Kumari alongside Janhvi Kapoor, Sanya Malhotra, and Rohit Saraf that is produced by Dharma Movies. Bhediya 2 was expected to come in theatres on August 14, 2026 but that has been delayed a bit. Varun and his father veteran filmmaker David Dhawan have got together for Hai Jaawani Toh Ishq Hona Hai with Pooja Hegde, Mrunal Thakur and Mouni Roy.
