Kanye West undergoing treatment in Spain at a retreat with his wife Bianca Censori: Reports

In the ongoing legal dispute between rapper Kanye West and his former employee, Benjamin Provo, West recently failed to appear for a scheduled deposition. While the reason for his absence initially raised questions, reports from InTouch Weekly indicate that West was in Spain at the time, receiving treatment for an unspecified illness at a specialized retreat.

Court documents accessed by InTouch Weekly shed light on Kanye West's absence from a recent deposition in his legal battle with Benjamin Provo. According to these documents, West's lawyer, Eduardo Martorell, disclosed that the musician, now known as Ye, was in Spain at the time. This revelation from Martorell adds a new dimension to the case, highlighting the lawyer's role in communicating West's whereabouts and the reasons for his non-appearance.

According to a new filing from May 20, Kanye's legal team justified his absence from the deposition by stating that the rapper was prepared to participate virtually. His attorney asserted that Kanye "unequivocally offered to appear for deposition today, with one accommodation – that it be taken remotely. That was it. No further conditions were attached." Despite this offer, a remote deposition did not occur. Kanye's lawyers also reported that the deposition of his wife, Bianca, was cancelled at the last minute.

Benjamin Provo, a former security guard at Kanye's Donda Academy, initiated a lawsuit against the rapper and his companies, citing wrongful termination and discrimination. Hired in 2021, Benjamin alleged that he was assigned additional responsibilities without a corresponding increase in pay. He further claimed that Kanye exhibited a discriminatory attitude towards Black authors and employees. The suit stated, “While Kanye was polite and attentive to his non-Black counterparts, Kanye was always abrupt, abrasive and demeaning of [Benjamin] and his Black counterparts.” Kanye has maintained his innocence, denying all accusations.
